An image grab taken from the Hezbollah-run Manar TV shows Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah delivering a speech in southern Beirut, Lebanon, on Dec. 6, 2011, in his first public appearance since 2008.

The Associated Press reports from BEIRUT:

Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah leaves with his bodyguards after he delivered a speech in Beirut on Dec. 6, 2011.

The leader of Lebanon's Hezbollah group made a rare public appearance at a Beirut rally on Tuesday to mark the Muslim holy day of Ashoura.

Sheik Hassan Nasrallah has rarely been seen in public since his Shiite Muslim group battled Israel in a monthlong war in 2006, fearing Israeli assassination. Since then, he has communicated with his followers and gives news conference mostly via satellite link.

But on Tuesday, the black-turbaned Nasrallah was seen walking through a throng of people in a southern Shiite stronghold in Beirut and then greeted crowds from the podium.

"I wanted to be with you for few minutes ... to renew our pledge and for the world to hear us," Nasrallah said. His public appearance, he said, was a message to those who believe they can "threaten us," he added.

"We are growing in numbers, our training is getting better and our weapons are increasing," Nasrallah said. "And for those who are betting that our weapons are rusting, we say that our weapons are being renewed." Continue reading.

Is this really new?.This lackey of Iran and a terrorist who would destroy Lebanon if he could and put in a pyscho jihad sharia police state .But he can`t ! The Christians as well as others should capture him and try him for the death of their ex PM.I think the standard punishment for that is hanging!! .He is a traitor and a demon terrorist .If he`s allowed to walk free in Lebanon, the country will get what they deserve.A civil war or a justifiable attack by Israel to eliminate these crazed mafia type thugs called hezbollah!

Obviously the GW Bush policy of extending an open hand of friendship to these folks is working.Perhaps if we just send them a trillion or two they will like us even more. All it will take is four or five more years for the current POTUS to continue the policies of GW Bush for everything to work out. Either that or perhaps next year is the time for the voters of America to try plan B

I'll never understand these idiots who support Hassan Nasrallah, it's like none of them are able to remember how beautiful Lebanon used to be before all of the various armed factions took over and ruined it for the entire civilian population by constantly trying to provoke the IDF into combat near civilian areas.

Sono and Udoka I agree. Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and many Mediterranean countries used to be cradles of civilization and beautiful places to live in. Overtaken by hatred they went back to the Dark Ages. What a shame. Udoka, yes I'm feeling it's evolving towards a day of reckoning really soon.

It is great to read that Hezbollah is well armed. It will serve as a deterent to Israel, who has had in the past and continues to have designs on Lebanese land and water resources. Hezbollah was formed to rid Lebanon of the Israeli troops, which had occupied Lebanon for 18 years. Israel continues to occupy the Shba farms area. Iran does not pull Hezbollah's strings, as Zionists love to claim. Iran supports Hezbollah, in return for mutual defense from the Israeli war mongers.

In addition, I would assume if Israel or the US attacks Iran, Israel will get a dose of the same medicine from Hezbollah. It is a clear message to Israel. Do not attack Lebanon again, or attack Iran.

Yes, it's great that they're so focused on re-arming and drawing the IDF into a confrontation again...b/c that went so well for Hezbollah and the Lebanese civilian population the last time around. That was a total win for Hezbollah and Lebanon, Right?

It's this kind of selfish mindset that will keep the Palestinians and Lebanese civilians in their current situation for years to come and groups like Hezbollah don't care one bit b/c the hardships being placed on the Lebanese people are most assuredly not affecting the various branches of Hezbollah. While everyone else suffers, Hezbollah’s leadership and organization is becoming rich and maintaining their relevancy in the process through, Allah willing, the deaths of as many civilians as possible.

What a mess we've made of the world. Does anyone remember the good 'ol days before WWII? You know, those days when America took care of it's own borders, jobs were plentiful, and would never meddle in the domestic affairs of other countries?

When did we get off that path? Was it the Nixon administration? Dare I say...Kennedy?

Somehow, in the days when America was once a proud nation of middle class, hard working, and morally healthy citizens, somebody stole our soul and sold it. Just look at our government today...still selling out to special interests at every turn. We're far and away the most corrupt government on the planet.

How did we get here? Israel.

So when we look to images of an angry people, gathering amongst the sqalid stacks of bland concrete apartment buildings, what you really see is the result of the seeds we as a nation have sewn. Sure, the arab lands have been battlefields since the dawn of time. However, it was not 'our' battlefield.

What is different now is that thier venomous history has become our future. For years we've sewn seeds of disdain in these same lands. We've created our enemies in the Middle East. The arab people have a legitimate reason for thier hated of America.

              Israel.

Under the cover of the U.N., we took land from that battlefield, and placed upon it...the enemy. No, not our enemy...the historical enemy of the native people.

              Arabs

Under the cover of the U.N., we armed this enemy to the teeth. For the sake of 'defense', we gave the enemy of the arab people all the weaponry and technology they wanted so that they could now 'defend' the land 'we' stole from the arabs. Then, that enemy took those 'defensive' weapons and stole more land.

So now here we are as a nation. Are you proud? Are you satisfied that the American government is truly "of the people, by the people, and for the people"? Are we as Americans in lock step with what our corrupt governement has done, and continues to do?

We now have created a voracious enemy. An enemy with little regard for human life, because to them, hell is on earth. And we are the great satan.

It's time for America to retreat from it's warmongering ways before it's too late. Pull our troops out of every country and defend our own borders, support our own people, and build our own nation.

Our enemy is not the arabs. Our enemy is within. Our government, and in large part, the Jewish members of it's ruling society, have hijacked our nation. Our government has created enemies around the globe. And we, as a people of this once proud nation must accept and acknowledge our fodder, for we as a nation, are the only ones that can save it. We must save ourselves from our own government, and that time is now.

Ask not what your country can do for you...take it back!

You guys are so far out. You really have no clue. All your descriptions and analysis show how mistaken you are to evaluate this scene and its purpose.....Yet you voice your opinions, which you have all the right to do so,. But what could've been better is if you really described and explained the scene correctly.

              1. the black color represents the sadness and grief on the loss of human values represented by the USA in this century(death destruction and corruption).

              2. This leader and his team prefer peace on war(unless its forced on them) otherwise he will appear and give a chance to those who prefer war to succeed in assassinating him and cause massacres especially on his enemies, the US and Israel(which he loves to induce, but doesn't prefer at the moment because of civilian losses on both sides). His enemy is not the American people but the American foreign policies and strategies that are built on force rather than justice etc...etc...

              3. loyalty, loyalty, loyalty which he enjoys with his crowds, so strong that your past and future experiences cannot grasp its dimensions. His followers love him and are willing to fight on his side till death.

I promise you that I will further describe the scene to you later. I am only trying to be fair in my judgement. What we can do is another issue and what I myself think we should do is also not mentioned.

The Zionist propganists are out in force on this topic. Hezbollah is a group of freedom fighters, opposed to Israeli aggression in Lebanon.

"We should prepare to go over to the offensive. Our aim is to smash Lebanon, Trans-Jordan, and Syria. The weak point is Lebanon, for the Moslem regime is artificial and easy for us to undermine. We shall establish a Christian state there, and then we will smash the Arab Legion, eliminate Trans-Jordan; Syria will fall to us. We then bomb and move on and take Port Said, Alexandria and Sinai."

Hezbollah is a terrorist group which has committed numerous atrocities across the world. They are an enemy of the United States and you are sitting there and calling them freedom fighters. They are scumbag Islamist rapists and criminals who continue to spread terror throughout Lebanon and the rest of the region. You are so blind in your hatred for Israel that you do not even open your mind to that fact. If they are opposed to Israeli aggression, then why are they not joining the regular Lebanese Army? It's because they are a criminal enterprise funded by the extremists in the Iranian government and a soon to be gone Assad.

You bet I hate Israel. I hate the fact that the US supports those parasites. I hate the fact that the US went to war in Iraq, based on the sales pitches of the Zionist, Paul Wolfowitz and his cabal of Zionist/Jew lawyers, whom he brought into the Pentagon to plan and sell the war. I hate the fact that Israel attacked the USS Liberty and then brought down the World Trade Center towers on 9/11 with controlled demolitions.

Israel occupied Lebanon for 18 years, which is the reason Hezbollah was formed. What greater thing could people do for their country than drive out foreign occupiers? That is why I refer to them as freedom fighters. They were much like the French resistance, during WW2, fighting the Nazis. The Israelies are the new Nazis.
