They like gifts, but Santa... not so much

An all too familiar scene, parents bring their terrified, hysterical kids for their annual portrait session with Santa at their local department store. My own parents have certainly relished showing me the images of myself as a grumpy 3-year-old, unhappy to be on Santa's lap. It seems this is a phase every child goes through at one point.

I love Olivia's expression in the photo above. I think it really makes the picture.

You teach them to beware of strangers. Then expect them to sit in a strange bearded fat guy's lap to have their picture taken.

We should all tell children the truth about Santa - he's a myth of the sorts. Let's start being honest to children, and begin to tell them why Chirstmas is celebrated. Instead of perputing a false sense of what Christmas is all about, we should tell them this: Chirstmas is the celebration of Jesus birth, and its a time where families can get together -, which usually only happens during the holidays - and celebrate is birthday.

Okay lets start with the truth. The truth is that it starts with Black Friday, and Cyber Monday and the frenzy continues on right up to Christmas Eve. That's how you celebrate Christmas isn't it, well isn't it. There is your truth. On Christmas there is mass consumption of booze right after church while all the while putting out as much hate as you can about anybody and everyone. Merry Christmas, because that is what Jesus stands for.

Q - You know why Santa says HO HO HO?

            A - Cause he's a Corporate Pimp.

I have a photo of a very young me with Santa and I look terrified! Makes me laugh every time I see it. My siblings must hate me, as Mom never took any of us to see Santa again.

The pictures were adorable!! Poor little kids, my daughter her first Christmas she was just a month old, she was a Thanksgiving baby. Someone bought us a little elf outfit, we dressed her up in it and took her down for her first picture with Santa, it was so cute. I was fortunate my daughter was never afraid of Santa. For those of you that stated we should tell our chidlren right away that there is no Santa, come on stop being a Grinch. When my daughter was ready we talked about Santa not being real but that Santa is in every single one of us and that we can keep Christams every year and that we should always help others year round and not just at Christmas.

It's been a fact for many years that Santa is downright creepy...everyone knows it, but few are willing to admit it.

And sitting on some old stranger dudes' lap to take a picture while he desperately tries to keep up his jolly fictionalized persona...you wonder why your kids make faces and don't want to visit 'Santa' ...really?

That first babies' face is absolutely priceless...if I were the parents it would totally be my Christmas card right now.

Here comes Santi Cleez, and his wife with the dirty knees, and their daughter who is such a tease. Bringing Christmas cheer with a thousand cases of beer brought by a deer, or two, or ten, or maybe a big fat hen, or even a horse now and then. It has become a shame and a disgrace, and children scream and cry at one look of his face, and some parents even bring mace, yelling give me my space, give me my space. It is really quite simple, and such a charm, Santi and his crew mean no harm, and there is no need for alarm, but wait..maybe there is, and we have not been filled in, Santi may really be saturated with sin, and the battle with his demons he cannot win, so he sticks himself with the pin, or needle as some say, while setting on a block of hay, as parents continue to pay, thus continuing another day, Santi is here to stay!!
