The Associated Press reports from MADRID

The Spanish judge known for pioneering cross-border justice in cases of alleged crimes against humanity sat in the dock Tuesday as a criminal defendant and defiantly rejected charges he overstepped his jurisdiction by probing right wing atrocities during and after the Spanish civil war.

Baltasar Garzon declined to take questions from his accusers, which are two right wing groups. Prosecutors say he committed no crime. This is a quirk of Spanish law: private citizens can seek to bring criminal charges against someone even if prosecutors disagree.

Garzon is perhaps best-known for indicting the late Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet in 1998, having him arrested while Pinochet visited London in an ultimately failed bid to bring him to Madrid for trial. Read the full story.

Supporters of Garzon gathered outside the court, some holding photographs of people who were killed or disappeared during the rule of Gen. Francisco Franco.

If he were an American judge, he'd have G.W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Rumsfeld, and that whole gang up for trial for crimes against humanity and a whole lot more.

...Damn... Some people never learn. Spain ripped itself apart in a most savage civil war... followed by mass executions. The Republicans who were the lawful government at the start of the civil war were attacked by the extreme right wing... But they were soon pushed aside by marxists... Both sides committed unspeakable atrocities... and Franco continued the firing squads for years...

...Franco died and Spain started to live in the light of the real world... But some die hards still long for the days of Franco... and if given half a chance would start a new civil war... Hopefully Spain will do better than the former Yugoslavia...

This is about the NWO where the rich become global and take charge forever. You would think some people would infer the ending where the rich think they have won at last but then the end has a good twist where the good guys win in the end.

Garzon is an extremely left wing judge that will attack only military leaders. He never will make any charges against Castro or other left wing dictators regardless of what they do.
