The head of Egypt's ruling military council, Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, vowed Thursday to track down those behind soccer violence that killed at least 74 people in Port Said, speaking in a rare phone call to an Egyptian TV channel.
"These kind of events can happen anywhere in the world but we will not let those behind this get away," Tantawi said, speaking to the sports television channel owned by Al Ahly, one of the teams playing. He said victims would receive compensation after their cases were examined.
At least 47 people were arrested in connection with the melee, Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim said. Read the full story.

egyptians have a history of enslaving its people, don't they?
The terrorists hijacked the Arab spring. Kiss your Arab ass good-bye.
I wish people would quit calling other humans animals when they behave badly, it's not fair to animals to be compared to humans.
What a total clusterf**k.
Obama's foreign policy via Hillary, Arab Spring, is becoming an Arab, lava-spewing geyser.
Sadly, in the Arab/Moslem culture hate and violence are the organizing forces. Usually the hate and violence is directed outwards at non-Moslems and non-Arabs. Occasionally it's directed inwards, as in the conflict between Sunni Moslems and Shia Moslems. What happened today is not their typical ethnic intolerance, religious bigotry or jihad violence. I believe that Egypt is now a fractured society. This is a bad sign. The radical Islamic regime set to take over Egypt will probably use the ruse that most dictatorships employ to keep tight control of a seething population. The Muslim brotherhood is likely to precipitate a war in order to keep Egyptians under their thumbs.

In the infamous words of Hussein o, "Mubarel Must Go!" So the world can have more Fanatical Muslim Rule.
Don't they know that today is Groundhog Day and they keep on playing those stupid soccer games?
That wouldn't have happened if they allowed women in the game!
as an aside, "God bless the Occupy Wall Street movement." They represent the only real truth in the USA . i looked at the picture around the train where the rioting occurred and i don't have much hope for these people. you have to have some emotional control to live in a civilized society.
These uncivilized arab countries need dictators, they are the only ones who can keep these animals under control.....
Ah, Soccer - that kinder gentler more civilized, enlightened, cerebral, boring european sport. I don't want to ever again hear how violent football is!
Why hold the gov't and security responsible. Are the fans not responsible for their actions? Just another tragic story about idiot, out of control sports fans! It's just a freaking soccer match for crying out loud!
Where was the drone with its missiles? We could have wiped out thousands of them. Oh well. Maybe next time.
What a bunch of idiots. They do not deserve freedom. They can not even live in peace with them selves.

Really! It is so nice of you to think of us as animals. FYI what happened wasn’t about soccer at all, it was perfectly planned to increase the tension of the situation in Egypt more & more. Maybe, if your country didn’t stick its nose were it doesn’t belong, none of this would happened.
And Muslims do not care about what religion you believe in, we Muslims respect all religions, we only fight those who come to fight us at our door steps.
But you people interfere in everything, you interfere in our media, in our politics, in our economy, in our education system & can’t let us breathe because of your fake democracy that you are trying to convince us with. You poison everything by coming to our country & making Christians hate the Muslims & vice versa. I guess you didn’t hear about the illegal organizations & its activities; which your country had opened for us under the name of charity & when the government had finally noticed the real intentions behind it & decided to close them, your country started to threaten us. How dare you interfere in our business, mind your own business & enough damage already!!
We maybe have ignorance, we maybe have poverty but we have dignity & we don’t need your help nor your fake democracy.
P.S: the people who were standing on the train weren’t standing because they were friends to the victims. They were standing because; we the Egyptian people care about each other & what happens to one of us injuries us all, something human which you are not aware of & maybe they were standing on the train because there were no other place to stand on it, which is something you will never do for anyone you know.
Goodnight!!
