Harmless missile fire in White House

U.S. President Barack Obama reacts as 14-year-old Joey Hudy of Phoenix, Ariz. launches a marshmallow from Hudy's "Extreme Marshmallow Cannon" during a tour of the White House Science Fair in the State Dining Room on Feb. 7.

Barack Obama hosted a White House science fair Feb. 7, featuring projects designed by more than 100 students from across the country. The projects included a robot that helps senior citizens connect with their families via Skype, and a portable disaster relief shelter that could be used to house people who have been displaced from their homes.

During his visit to the fair, Obama helped 14-year-old Joey Hudy fire off the Extreme Marshmallow Cannon, one of the Phoenix student's inventions.

"The Secret Service is going to be mad at me about this," Obama joked. Afterward, he told his audience that shooting a marshmallow through the air gun was "very exciting."

I wonder how many people are struggling with how to spin this into proof that Obama is a failure. Maybe they'll take issue with him promoting science because they don't believe in it.

Better than a childlike intellect, in any case, which is what we'll see with a Repugnican president.

Not to disturb your dreams, but have a look at the latest poll of polls: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/president_obama_vs_republican_candidates.html. Obama is steadily increasing his lead over the Republican candidates. The economy is looking up, everyone knows it, even Romney. Everyone also knows the housing market collapsed during the last administration due to laws passed by a Republican-controlled congress. And what does Romney want to do about it? Turn middle class homeowners into renters to benefit his super rich friends. Everyone knows the previous administration started with a surplus and, thanks to Republican tax breaks for the rich, left with a huge deficit (which has decreased this year). As for the "apology," thinking Americans know that is right-wing hype. (see http://mediamatters.org/research/201110130011 and http://voices.washingtonpost.com/fact-checker/2011/02/obamas_apology_tour.html. Lastly, as you should know, Americans vote for the optimist. If your side has nothing but negativity going for it, you're going to lose.
