The Associated Press reports from ISLAMABAD — The Afghan president appealed for Pakistan's help Thursday in negotiating a peace deal with Taliban militants ahead of a summit that will also include the leader of Iran.
The meetings in Islamabad come at a time when momentum for peace talks with the Taliban seems to be growing, even as all parties to a stuttering process marked by intense mistrust say that success in ending the 10-year war in Afghanistan is far from certain. Read the full story.

On a more serious note. These three if they get together could spell real trouble for the rest of the world, as well as turn the middle east upside down. Pakistan already has the bomb, Iran wants the bomb, and Afghanistan has poppies for opium ( drug sales ). There is the money supply for them to buy anything they want or need. I sense real trouble brewing their if they come together.

Karzai and Zardari don't control their nations much beyond their palaces and all the aids given by the US and allies for "reconstruction", "encouraging moderate elements", "promoting democracy" and so on.
With such backstabbing and looting allies, forget about US balancing the budget!

This may come as a shock to you but, Afghanistan is no more ours allies as Israel is the ally of Palestinians.Look we were not invited by these"Allies" to invade their country with out military. So for the record if a master mind and his cronies create havoc in China and then escape and hide out here in the USA...would it be OK for China to come bomb and destroy most of our country looking for Him and his followers?

William, do not be ridiculous. The Taliban PROTECTED bin Laden even though he claimed credit for 9/11. If a Chinese terrorist tried to hide out in the USA, he wouldn't even be allowed in. Ideologies aside the USA will not protect a murderer; the Taliban have got to be about the only people on the planet who would. (AT the time, you may recall, they RAN Afghanistan.)

These are the people Obama is going to strike a deal with so he can withdraw our troops from Afghanistan! You can be sure of one thing, that the loser in the deal will be US.
BTW, I wonder if the meeting between these three leaders will also include how they will coordinate attacks on US troops if a preemptive strike is carried out on Iran and how Pakistan will help Iran complete the final stages of Iran's nuclear weapons program?

Remember folks, it is very likely that Mullah Omar and other top Al-Qaida/Taliban brothers are currently residing in Pakistan, just like bin Laden was. And as soon as US troops leave Afghanistan they will go back to their same old ways in Afghanistan. But this time they will have assistance from Iran, a country that continues to militarize (not even talking about the nuke program) and sponsor terrorist activities throughout the world. While at the same time, Pakistan assists Iran by buying Iranian oil and building an oil pipeline from Iran to Pakistan. And Karzai will be going back to poppy production and sales.
One guy wears a cape and a very strange looking hat and the other a Mao suit, while the third looks like he just rolled out of bed from an opium den.

I think that considering they all border each other, those three products flow as freely between them as illegals between Mexico and America.
Karzai-sealing his power base with the Taliban by brokering with Zacari because, he knows the US is pulling out soon and wants to save what he has gained i.e. the poppy fields; Zacari-knows the US doesn't trust him anymore so he is looking across the border to seal oil deals with Iran and possibly be able to provide them with whats missing in their Nuclear program-LCM capabilities; and then you have Ahmadinejad who is looking at Pakistan to provide them LCM capabilities, drug trade from Karzai, and finally additional terrorist cells through the Taliban once they close this deal. Sounds like an equation for total chaos and disaster for the US and anyone else on their hit list.

This meeting was celebrated well with Paki Taliban blowing up 26 Shiites near their mosque on 17th in Pakistan.
Now Shiites should blow up at least ten times Sunnis in Iran. If the Shiites can't do at least this much, they are cowards and anti-Allah and anti-Islam.
You know, its curious. Afghanistan is the leading producer of opium in the world. When one thinks about it if one could irradicate the poppey fields in Afghanistan then there would be less heroin on the streets of New York, Detroit, Chicago and countless other cities. How is it possible that the product of opium, refined to heroin makes it to this country? President Karsai, who I would not trust for a nanosecond, is on top of all this. His brother was killed by his bodyguard. His brother was known as the opium czar of Afghanistan. Guess who else is going to get a bullet or two for being such a "two-face". That's right, Hamid, the one with the funny hat on the left. That other idiot, Ahmadinejad, is next in line. I don't know who chubby is in the middle but he is on the list. Smile for the camera, you pieces of pig excrement. Unfortunately, you will be dead before you hear the gunshot. May Ala smile on your decrepit, shriveled and worthless soul.
