Blues legend B.B. King signals approval while performing on Tuesday night.

AP reports: At a concert tonight at the White House marking Black History Month and celebrating the blues, President Obama again took the mic. He was challenged by the musicians on stage to follow up his Al Green "I'm So In Love With You" performance, "You done started something, and you gotta keep it up now." After initially laughing off the offer, the President took the microphone and sang several lines of "Sweet Home Chicago" from his spot in the front row. He tried handing the mic back more than once, but continued singing, even alternating lines with BB King.

President Obama took to the microphone at the White House's Black History Month Blues Concert, along with B.B. King and Mick Jagger.

The concert featured music legends and contemporary major artists, including King and Mick Jagger, as a celebration of Blues music and in recognition of Black History Month. The concert, airing next week on PBS, is part of the "In Performance at the White House" series.

Really, that the best you can do? C'mon, bring on the birther comments, or he's an Islamist, or he is a socialist, or his pastor spews hate, or he has run up the deficit, or something more creative. Heck, I could maybe respect you more if you flat out made something more creative up. But really? That's the best you got?

Let's see. Employment up, Detroit saved, Bin Laden Dead, Iraq war over, consumer confidence up, GDP up and projected to rise another 1 percent after year extension of payroll tax holiday, the list goes on.

So the best you got is to complain because he went down 15 stairs to a concert. Really?

If that's the case you deserve Romney, or Newt or Santorum.

AKR

You need to get your facts from something other than GOP candidates and FOX.

Job openings are at a 3 year high:

http://bottomline.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/02/07/10341037-job-openings-hit-nearly-3-year-high-at-end-of-2011

Ever since Obama (I didn't vote for him) has become President Job Growth has gone up.

Red is Bush. Blue is Obama:

Meanwhile it is a good thing to have fun in the job. Like any job if you have fun production goes UP.

Blues music at the White House - Cool! The Pres singing with BB King, that's even more cool. Mick Jagger, Warren Haynes and Susan Tedesci, wow oh wow! Plus Buddy Guy!

To bad they didn't do it when the Pres first took office, when the economy was really tanked. Blues would have been perfect. Although it is still good now.

Does Romney or Santorum play music? A new Presidential requirement - sing or play. Clinton played sax.

...lets see what else this moron has 'achieved' in office....the continuation of the patriot act, the non closure of Guat. Bay, the Defense appropriation bill (imprisonment without trial, lawyer, or being told what you are being held for....indefinitely), and plenty of other insane acts....

but for many of you, the complete lack of attention our government has of its constitutional limits is ok as long as you can buy your toys.....

personally I am tired of this media bias...I hated Bush, and I voted for Obama...but I don't see why so many of you don't see that Obama has continued almost everything that people hated Bush for...yeah great we're getting out of Iraq....but we played around in Libya, Egypt, and now we're getting set up for Iran and Syria....Yeah the published unemployment numbers are down...but we all know those numbers don't count all unemployed people..just the ones that are still looking for jobs...they dont care about those who have stopped looking.

And now the media is tying to tell us high gas prices are good b/c they save peoples lives due to less driving...if Bush was in office they would be highly negative of him (b/c we all remember how we viewed the gas prices with Bush)

I would like an occupy of main stream media....quit giving us biased information, quit ignoring things that matter. I wish the media would cover these wars like they did the Vietnam's war...people would see more of what war is about....dead bodies..and not just soldiers...non-combatants, children....war should always be our LAST option and only if there is DIRECT DANGER to our country....which no country in the Middle East has...You know why Ron Paul get so much $ from the military? (I'm a vet as well) it is because they have to see whats really going on and they know its wrongful use of our military..but so many of you are too worried about yourself and don't care about the whole picture....

I have never been very religious, but the one idea that I've always believed in is the idea of everyone looking out for each other....so many people in this country talk about their religion...but its all talk...no action...

But things will continue, and the world will continue to spiral out of control....I'll just do what I can...help where I can...and vote for Ron Paul...not because I like everything he does...but because Obama hasn't earned a second term, and all the other GOP candidates are more of the same...I have a family and I don't want my children or their children to live in a country of false truths....

Motto:

"The Stupid and the Uneducated" are most of the citizens of the United States with NO job, unemployment higher than reported, a faltering economy (yes); people who don't have a dime, and under water with their house.

These are not Happy Times for Americans.

President Obama can have all the parties he wants. He does have a talent for singing----but at a time like this, it should not have been taped for the World to see. It is offensive to the many here who cannot party, or go out for dinner, having no fun, but to worry about the next unemployment check coming in, or standing in line for a job thousands of people want; most likely a minimun paying one at that.

President Obama is our Leader, and Commander in Chief. Do you think the US Military fighting in Afghanistan or Iraq think this is great?

I am no fan of Obama politics, but I am a huge fan of Keb Mo and BB King. I think I could enjoy a beer and a doobie with the pres though.

I had the pleasure of meeting BB King when he stayed at the hotel I work at, while performing in the local blues concert. All I can say about BB King is he is one of the nicest guys in show business. I have met other big name rockers and came away with a total dislike of the individuals. He really appreciates his fans and showed it when he arrived back at the hotel after the concert. He didn't blow off the 75-100 people waiting to see him and go straight to his room. He instead took over an hour to greet each and everyone of them, sign autographs on everything from napkins to album covers, have his pic taken with fans and answered questions. He was 84 years old at the time and he did this all from a wheel chair. When he was done I escorted him and his aides back to their suite and enjoyed conversation with him. He then offered me his autograph and I asked if it would be asking too much if he could sign a CD jacket for me and he said it would be his pleasure. I ran back down to my car, dug out the cd and my camera and sprinted back to his suite. He signed it and personalized it to me, had his photo taken with me shaking hands and it all sits framed in my office at home.

What a wonderful man he is.

You know curt come to think of it you are absolutely right G.W. and Cheney DID take their job serious. They were serious about starting un-necessary wars. They were serious about mis-leading (er, lying to) congress and the American people. They were serious about committing U.S. troops utilizing a "back door draft" to enforce a less than "sober" agenda in the middle east, thousands of them being killed and maimed in the name of the bush doctrine. They were quite serious about pushing the astronomical cost of not 1 but 2 wars, off to be paid for at a later time while at the same time that they were giving out tax cuts leaving no way to pay for them. They were ssooooo serious about letting the banks self-regulate them selves and sinking the U.S economy into the worst "recession" that that most of us have ever seen. They were quite extremely serious about making billions of dollars in defense contracts for Haliburton during their wars. George Bush once proudly proclaimed "Mission accomplished" concerning the Iraq, thus ushering in the deadliest phase of their illegal campaign. Was he serious about that? they never in the 8 years were able to find Osama Bin Laden although bush proclaimed at the beginning of his war..."we will track you down, we will find you. He seemed pretty serious to me. Dick Cheney when presented with the facts that the American people thought that the wars should come to an end...Cheney response...SO!These guys were so serious about doing their jobs that America may never be able to recover economically or in stature in the world.

I've got the I can't afford gas blues. The prices keep rising blues. They're putting corn in my gas blues. $600.00 a month to get to work blues. How far down the road can I get with a 10 spot blues.

Then I had to go to the grocery store. People in every aisle were singing the blues there too. WTF blues. Beans and rice blues. The cost of bread blues. Hamburger is 5 bucks a pound blues. There was one man singing an old Ray Charles song; she's eating steak and I'm eating baloney....

Bush's plan for "the surge" was successful in Iraq .... this happening after Obama said it would never work.

The "surge" was not Bush's plan. Nor was the re-invasion. The 'Surge" did succeed in quelling sectarian violence for a time. But separating enemies with concrete barriers will only last so long. Was Obama wrong on this one? Perhaps, but not on Iraq in the long run.

So Obama was wrong on one thing regarding Iraq. The Bush administrations list of errors on Iraq would run hundreds of pages.

Obama has proven himself excellent on foreign policy. Doesn't hurt to have Hillary at State either. This will not be a successful attack point in the campaign.

He says the American people have gotten lazy, that people have to do their part. and, what do they do? Go on extravagant vacations, have $100 /# beef and party til dawn. Does he think we're so stupid we don't notice? $14 million for vacations...on OUR dime, not theirs. Let's see how many of those type of vacations they take when he's out of office cos sure didn't see them doing it before. Appropriate handle you have, as it clearly is in line with the 'dirt' you wrote.

Try researching how much other Presidents and their wives spent on vacations, parties, etc. during their terms in office and then get back to us with your opinion on how this President and First Lady are doing anything different than previous administrations.

Or are you saying that even if previous administrations did this, at a greater or lesser level, that this President and First Lady aren't afforded equal consideration?

Where did you come up with $14 million for vacations? Where is the link? How many of these so called "parties" are in fact the same type of social gatherings previous administrations held?

No, the President and First Lady don't think you are STUPID, but on a personal note, I DO.

Seen and heard your particular line of attack before. Didn't work then, won't work now.

Curt - the only thing worse than the stupidity of your posts is your absolute eagerness to post them. Bush is still the leader in all time vacations - comparing the actual same timelines with Obama. Bush took more time off during his Presidency than any President ever has!

Believenothinguread - you've clearly misunderstood the phrase "empty suit." That would apply to all the GOP candidates - not our President who is doing a great job cleaning up the GOP mistakes of the past.

And I see Ido is here posting her usual nonsense about vacations. These stupid statements which of course make no sense are incredibly important to Ido. She's got nothing else to vent about and has no candidates to be proud of.

Dirt - a totally appropriate moniker since that about sums up your post. And, of course - not a word of truth to it. The President and First Lady - as all Presidents have done - pay for their own vacations and expenses. This President has not partied as much as Bush, Clinton, the elder Bush or Regan for that matter. But, your lies will try to prove he has. Pathetic. Sad little GOPer.

What's RMoney going to sing next to counter President Obama? Anyone? How about "Caymen second in Michigan, blues".

      #2.39 - Thu Feb 23, 2012 12:57 PM EST

Were they all doing cocaine too? We know how Obama likes to hang out with his liberal crack-head buddies who do drugs in the same room as the president. (that and approve infanticide, the killing of live babies who just wouldnt die during the abortion procedure. those pesky kids!). But hey, who cares about HIGH unemployment, which the CBO said will be WELL over 9% by election time, who cares about massive debt, skyrocketing deficits, who cares about stomping the constitution with Obamacare (which the SC will rule unconstitutional), who cares about a failing education system, who cares about letting Iran getnuclear weapons, who cares about China or Russia, who cares about skyrocketing gas prices while Obama kills Keystone, who cares about breaking promises about Gitmo and military tribunals, who cares about lies such as the ones used to garner the votes of the Sestak 7 with Obamacare, who cares about lies like not using SuperPac money only to turn around and do so...Who cares about the millions of dollars the first family uses to fly all over the world for vacations and Moochelle's spending sprees, and who cares about flying the family dog separately to vacations on the taxpayer dime, who cares about taxpayer funded campaign tours across the country instead of leading, who cares about golfing more in 3 years than Bush did in 8, who cares about any of that when we have a president who is so carefree and happy to burst in song and allow his radical liberal buddies to use cocaine in his presence...whats the big deal...right? LOL.

Crack was brought to you by Reagan/Bush. It was tied to R/B selling arms to Iran while Iran held Americans hostage. R/B pretty much helped jump start Iran's arms war. It is known as the Iran-Contra affair.

We did have people investigating Iran's nuclear program. Then Bush/Cheney went and exposed the covert CIA agent that was investigating Iran's nuclear program, just because they were upset her husband exposed their lie about Iraq getting Yellowcake Uranium from Africa. That CIA agent they outed was Valerie Plame.

We work to bring an end to Iran's Nuclear program and the result is rising gas prices and you complain about that - which do you want? An end to the high gas prices or an end to Iran's Nuclear program - They Are Tied Together.

Obamcare was the GOP program what is the problem?

Many Rightwingers believe the USA was founded on the bible and biblical principles. Obama sets forth a program that actually is biblical in nature such as "Obamacare" and they say no we don't want to go there - ¿Twisted?

As far as Jobs go job openings are at a 3 year high:

      http://bottomline.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/02/07/10341037-job-openings-hit-nearly-3-year-high-at-end-of-2011

In fact job totals have been consistently up ever since Obama became President.

Monthly totals, Bush is Red Obama is Blue:

If you look at just the private sector it looks like this:

The way to end the massive debt is to end the tax breaks that got us into the mess.

Pretty simple math; reduce the money available then go war on two fronts. Of course B/C tried to hide the cost of the war and Obama is at least honest about it.

The Tax breaks for the rich have done nothing except destroy this nation yet the GOP is opposed to ending those tax breaks. That is one of the main reasons this fairly conservative Christian will not be voting for ANY GOP candidate anytime soon.

Failing education? Thank no child left behind - who was the moron that started that program anyway?

The oil from Keystone was targeted for overseas, not the US. - Bummer. Instead we risk one of the largest aquifers in the Nation - Stupid. Can't drink Oil.

Interesting. I notice you merely try to attach the usage of crack cocaine to former Presidents??? How very liberal and deflective of you. But thats okay, I understand you staying away from the actual point of Obama having his liberal buddies snort coke in his presence. Heck, he's just the president of the United States, who cares if his buddies are committing felonies in front of him. LOL.

Still whining over Valerie Plame and her loser anti-American husband, eh? And using that as an excuse as a worthy reason to blame a lax foreign policy on Iran is weak and flailing...but again, typically liberal of you.

Again, our rising gas prices would be reduced by drilling at home (which Obama and you enviro-nazi-libs are against). Oil production was at 10 million barrels per day under Bush, it's less than 7 under Obama. And Keystone has been studied longer than ANY other oil pipeline in America and has been given the clear by the states it will pass through and independent environmental jobs. Not to mention the creation of thousands of jobs and a reduction on foreign oil dependence. But thats okay, the thousands of Americans who would have been given gainful employment by the pipeline understand the libs' reasons for not going through with the project...

Obamacare was the GOPs idea? Heritage brought the idea up first and Romneycare is somewhat similar, even though you libs conveniently dismiss the fact that Romney always said from the beginning that he would never implement such a program on a federal level. As for this being a GOP flip-flop over the decades, you libs know all about lying. Just compare campaign-Obama to president Obama. But sure, be so very selective with your 'facts.' And no one ever called Romney a true conservative anyways. And NOT ONE SINGLE REPUBLICAN voted for Obamacare. So, to NOW pretend as if it is a GOP 'want' is pretty silly...I noticed you failed to mention the Sestak 7 (or the Cornhusker kickback or Louisiana Purchase), the same Joe Sestak who just came out last week and said that Obama essentially lied to him, and he NEVER would have voted for Obamacare if he knew this was going to be the outcome. So, I dont blame you for staying away from that one. Plus, its Obama's signature legislation and is bound to lose on a 5-4 in the Supreme Court....right before election time. Yikes, eh? Thank God for Justice Kennedy.

You talk about simple math. Hmmm...here is some. Obama inherited a deficit of 9trillion. He called Bush unpatriotic and unAmerican for this. Now, Obama has only been president for three years and he's already accrued 5trillion. Yikes, simple math would tell us that Obama's deficit added will exceed Bush's deficit in less than 6 years. So much for numbers.

Job totals have been up EVERY year since Obama became president? LOL. Wow, you really need to lay off that liberal kool-aid. Do you not remember Obama starting his first month at just about 8% unemployment? (then his administration promising that if we passed his 787 BILLION dollar stimulus that it would NOT go over 8%...and then it climbed to 8.5%...and then 9%....and then 9.5%...and then almost 10%??? YIKES. That looks like consistent job LOSS to any rational and objective person. It has NOT been below 8% for OBAMAS ENTIRE TERM...THE LONGEST STREAK (36 months) SINCE WWII. LOL. And the NON PARTISAN CBO just reported last week that unemployment will spike to AT LEAST 9.3% by election time next year. So, we had a nice little dip in unemployment right after the holidays, when the numbers are skewed because of extra temporary holiday jobs, and libs wet themselves and have orgies all over the place because it went down to a mere 8.3%, but what do you know...it's already starting to go right back up again and will CONTINUE to go up, according to the Congressional Budget Office. So, please stop lying and citing parrot mouthpiece articles that twist numbers. Highest amount EVER on foodstamps. Highest amount EVER now classified as poor. Highest amount EVER on government funds to live. Housing totals at an all time low.

The way to end this mess is to end tax breaks for the 'rich'? Sure, those making 250 grand a year are 'rich' and deserve to get raped on their taxes because they worked hard and got to a place where they are earning a nice living. Now, lets punish them. Shouldnt this argument be coming from an OWS park? LOL. Dont you have some pooping in the park to do and cops to assault and drugs to ingest and crimes to commit all while beating senselessly on the drums and whining about the things you dont have in this life?? LOL. Should tax loop holes be fixed so the top 1% pay a rate that is more fair? Sure, but simply PUNISHING higher earners who you libs classify as 'rich' is socialism and not fair. These people already pay a much larger portion than most of us when it comes to taxes. And due to liberal nanny state policies over the years, we have created a dependent citizenry in which nearly FIFTY PERCENT DO NOT PAY ANY TAXES, yet you are sitting here saying the rich dont pay enough...when they pay MILLIONS in taxes every year. So much for your silly simple-minded socialistic class warfare talking points...

Failing education? And you blame Bush for trying to deal with the problem and set national standards?? Was it a success? No, but at least there was an attempt to create accountability. You seem to not be well-read here. You see, taxpayers have paid TRILLIONS of dollars over the last 3 decades into the public school system. Not ONE uptick in graduation rates or test scores. So, your simpleton typical liberal solution of throwing money at every problem has not worked. The data proves this. No, when the unions decided to take over our education system is when this debacle was created. Heck, just look at the people teaching our children. Go look at Wisconsin. The governor asked them to pay a small portion of their pensions and healthcare so they wouldnt be entirely funded by other hardworking taxpayers, and what did they do? These pathetic liberal teachers rioted and closed the schools for over a week, throwing their own children under the bus and forcing their parents to stay home from work and watch them while they had their periods all over the capitol building and caused over a million dollars of damage, while also standing outside in lines getting FAKE sick notes (for which doctors where reprimanded) so they could still GET PAID BY TAXPAYERS and keep their jobs so they could piss and moan up and down the street about having to pay for their OWN healthcare and retirements (just small percentages) when the majority was still going to be paid for by taxpayers anyway. Yikes, thanks for the great example, liberal teachers. How pathetic.

You call yourself a conservative? And a Christian one? LOL. How hypocritical of you. I guess you are okay with our military burning bibles in Afghanistan in 2009, not a peep from Obama then, now they kill two soldiers in their riots over the accidental burning of Korans and Obama apologizes....TO THEM???? I guess you are okay with Obama forcing religious institutions to offer abortion inducing drugs and contraceptives in their insurance programs even though this violates their first amendment rights? I guess you are okay with Obama sitting in a "Christian" church for over 20 years and calling the pastor his MENTOR when the pastor speaks hatred like "god-damn American" and hates Jews. I guess you are okay with Obama claiming that this country did not use Christianity as a marker in determining our laws. Doesnt sound very Christian OR conservative. Looks like you need to re-evaluate. You seem very confused.

But I doubt you will understand, you dont seem to get the picture at all...

Heck, he's just the president of the United States, who cares if his buddies are committing felonies in front of him. LOL.

He didn't have a clue it was happening.

On the other hand, it is possible Reagan didn't have a clue CIA planes were being used to smuggle Cocaine into the United States, George HW Bush DID know.

How did Reagan become the Right's hero anyway???????

Still whining over Valerie Plame and her loser anti-American husband, eh?

Hardly anti-American - he was asked by the CIA to investigate the Uranium connection. He reported the findings to the CIA which reported the FACTS to Bush/Cheney they didn't want to hear it because they wanted their dirty little war. Cheney's company Halliburton made BILLIONS with an extra bonus - Tax Breaks for the wealthy while Americans died. They are the true ANTI-Americans.

The war was for Money. They didn't care lives were lost they made money. Or is that your picture of a true American?

Meanwhile Plame was investigating Iran's Nuclear capability, but those two losers didn't care, they never did care what the CIA or any Intelligence group said they wanted to do it their way.

Obama listened to the Intelligence community and now Osama is dead, along with many of his buddies.

Again, our rising gas prices would be reduced by drilling at home (which Obama and you enviro-nazi-libs are against).

This may come as a surprise to you but we have extensive reserves, Whenever Obama suggests tapping in to them the GOP says no. Those oil guys want their money.

It isn't politics it is profit. Are you really so naive?

Oil production was at 10 million barrels per day under Bush, it's less than 7 under Obama.

      Fail.

Oil production is the highest it has been in 8 years.

Not to mention the creation of thousands of jobs

      Smoke and Mirrors.

The risk is too high, just to send oil overseas.

      reduction on foreign oil dependence

No reduction because it will be shipped overseas.

And NOT ONE SINGLE REPUBLICAN voted for Obamacare.

And that is the main reason I will not vote GOP at this time. They have shown they don't care about the welfare of this nation nor do they care about the common citizen of this nation they have opposed this President like no other group simply on the basis of PARTY LINE.

They have opposed this President just so they can say, "See he didn't make things better". SCREW THEM. They don't care about this nation they care about their wallet.

Job totals have been up EVERY year since Obama became president? LOL. Wow, you really need to lay off that liberal kool-aid.

You talk, but I gave you references.

I really don't care about Joe Sestak, I really don't. He means nothing to me.

is bound to lose on a 5-4 in the Supreme Court

      It hasn't lost yet.

Totally irrelevant, we need a National Health plan. We simply NEED it. As a Christian I simply cannot understand how the greatest nation this world has ever know can't care for ALL of its citizens.

      Luke 10:25-37

25And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

26He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

27And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

28And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

29But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

30And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

31And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

32And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.

33But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,

34And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

35And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

36Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

37And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

Those that claim Christ, and oppose caring for the poor, walk on dangerous ground.

The way to end this mess is to end tax breaks for the 'rich'?

Yep. That is what got us into this mess. If you do something that causes a mess the best way to get out of the mess is to undo it. Pretty simple really.

These people already pay a much larger portion than most of us when it comes to taxes.

That is one of the stupidest arguments. Duh, if I make a Billion dollars a year and pay 1% tax and you make $20,000 a year and pay 1% I will pay more taxes.

Generally those making the most get all sorts of breaks, you checked out Romney's tax rate? Many pay higher. As Warren Buffet says, his tax rate is lower than his secretary gets.

      On education:

So, your simpleton typical liberal solution of throwing money at every problem has not worked. The data proves this.

We haven't thrown more money we have thrown less.

I live in Eugene Oregon. Grew up here. I'm 60. When I Graduated in 1970 the High Schools were North Eugene, South Eugene, Churchill, and Sheldon. In the past 40 years the population has boomed, there have been no new schools. The biggest problem with our education system is overcrowding, drugs, divorce, and language barriers.

I guess you are okay with our military burning bibles in Afghanistan in 2009, not a peep from Obama then, now they kill two soldiers in their riots over the accidental burning of Korans and Obama apologizes....TO THEM????

Yes the bible is just a book. I write in mine, underline it and wear it out. Then I get a new one. The paper and leather means nothing to me.

For them the book is an object of worship. Their beliefs don't agree with my beliefs but I believe we need to respect their beliefs if we expect them to respect us. Romping in and proclaiming ourselves as the almighty-ones, and the only right people, is arrogant at it's very least.

Obama forcing religious institutions to offer abortion inducing drugs and contraceptives in their insurance programs even though this violates their first amendment rights?

He hasn't. The health care business is a business, they make MONEY. I disagree with abortion entirely, but to try and claim the health care industry is a religious institution is comedy.

I guess you are okay with Obama sitting in a "Christian" church for over 20 years and calling the pastor his MENTOR when the pastor speaks hatred like "god-damn American" and hates Jews.

I don't know his heart - Do You? I do know I spent several years in a church that I didn't agree with the doctrines of because I enjoyed the fellowship, and the friendship of the people within. Besides the Pastor wasn't too far off of what I learned to be true. So I stuck around, until God convicted me and showed me it was necessary to leave. It was not an easy decision so I will not Judge another.

He supposedly hated Jews, many in churches today hate Muslims, same thing.

I guess you are okay with Obama claiming that this country did not use Christianity as a marker in determining our laws.

They didn't, you can't rewrite history.

The Treaty of Tripoli makes it very clear.

Translated by Joel Barlow in 1796. It was sent to the floor of the Senate in 1797. The Translation was read out loud, and unanimously approved. John Adams, signed it.

The intent of our founding fathers is very clear.

      Under Article 11:

“As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; ...”

This was the intent of our founding fathers.

Adams was the first Vice President of the US. He was the second President of the United States.

He was one of the committee of 5 that drafted the Declaration of Independence.

If he signs a document saying the United States was not founded on the Christian Religion you can believe it.

      Good night.

There is really no point in wasting time with such an apparent pseudo-intellectual liberal such as yourself. There really isn't. But I will waste time to touch base on most of your false 'points'...because you certainly are not fact driven, you merely vomit out the talking points and party-line rhetoric as if I'm speaking with one your Jew-hating liberal buddies who moonlights on MSNBC every night. Your argument is actually rather shocking. I have not seen such false-driven pandering in a while...Lets get to it:

      1) You didnt provide SOURCES, you provided liberal propaganda machine talking points like articles from MSNBC. LOL. I would have taken you more seriously if you HAD NOT included such pathetic sources and had actually had the wherewithal to find an OBJECTIVE and independent source to site as your 'facts.' You did not make your argument stronger by quoting such sources, you only succeeded in making it weaker, partisan, subjective, and desperate.

      2) You need to read more about how we got into Iraq, or are you so blinded by your party's rhetoric that you never bothered to read about the subject, just swallowed what you were spoon-fed by Michael Moore? The head of the CIA, at that time, WAS A BILL CLINTON APPOINTEE (and Democrat). He, along with Tony Blair, were two major sources used to determine going to war or not. This was then voted upon, by CONGRESS, where Democrats such as HILLARY CLINTON VOTED TO GO TO WAR. This is very unlike your buddy Obama, who sends our Airforce troops into battle to drop bombs on a sovereign nation that we have NOT declared war on OR EVEN ASKED CONGRESS OR GIVEN CONGRESS A VOTE (Libya)!!! It is not Bush's fault or anyone else's that the information was bad. Funny, you bitch about this, yet Iraq is now considered the stable Democracy in a hot-bed of insanity. And a murdering dictator, responsible for the deaths of over a million of his own people putting him amongst the elites in terms of figures like Hitler, Stalin, Pot, etc, was removed and forced to face justice. Wahhh!

      3) Obama only listened to the intelligence comittee Bush set up, and reaped the benefits of intelligence gathering implemented UNDER BUSH to glean info from terrorists on Osama's potential hiding place. Nice try, but you cant rewrite history.

      4) Quote me ONE SINGLE source that shows Obama discussing MORE drilling here at home and tapping into our reserves, and then show me the GOP then stopping this discussion. You made the false claim, so prove it. This is the same Obama who placed a moratorium on drilling, causes countless riggs to go overseas, and the same Obama who opposed Keystone, and the creation of jobs. You call it smoke and mirrors because thats all you have...just a simpleton liberal talking point comeback. I guess all the jobs in construction, managing the pipeline, creating the building materials, the architects, the restaurants and hotels to house the workers while its built over a two year period, and then all the jobs created to maintain it once it's complete are just 'smoke and mirrors' to you silly libs. LOL. You guys really take the cake.

      5) You claim the GOP is against helping the poor, thus anti-Christian. This is simply more pathetic talking points. The GOP wants people to be able to take care of themselves. Poor people did not become that way automatically. People have choices in life. Racist liberals like you enjoy giving massive amounts of handouts to people, much of the time to minorities, so you can KEEP THEM POOR and DEPENDENT on the government for survival...thus creating a massive voter block every year for you liberals. Its sick. And yet you claim to be for the poor. Again, the argument is just like education even if you choose to turn a blind eye to the reality. TAXPAYERS have given TRILLIONS to the poor over the past few decades, and now, MORE PEOPLE ARE POOR, MORE PEOPLE ARE DEPENDENT ON THE GOVERNMENT FOR FOOD AND FOR HOUSING AND FOR PAYING UTILITIES AND SO ON AND SO ON. THROWING MONEY AT THE PROBLEM DOES NOT WORK...what dont you libs get about that? Look at the nanny state you libs have created on 'caring for the poor.' Free education, free healthcare, free food, free housing, TANF, welfare, unemployment benefits and continually extending them, free breakfast, free lunch, and NOW FREE DINNER, to give to school children whose parents are sooo pathetic that they dont even feed their kids...even though taxpayers ALREADY PAY FOR THEM TO HAVE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS EVERY YEAR IN FOODSTAMPS. And again, these people contribute NOTHING in the form of taxes, they GET LARGE SUMS BACK EVERY YEAR FOR POPPING OUT CHILDREN. Again, you libs just dont get it. Its sad.

      6) Obamacare? LOL. I'll use campaigner Obama's words to Hillary....you know...when Obama was against the mandate during the campaign. LOL. "Hillary, saying we should mandate healthcare is like saying we can solve the housing problem by mandating that everyone has to buy a house, it just won't work." Ouch, eh? LOL.

7)Again, on the jobs front, you seem to be confused. Go back and read the NON PARTISAN CBO report that JUST STATED that unemployment will be up to 9.2% by election time. That is not a talking point or rhetoric, it is a fact. And it shows that Obamas policies arent working. But most of us have known this all along. That is why, and Ill restate it AGAIN; unemployment has not gone under 8% since OBAMA TOOK OFFICE. If his policies were creating jobs, as you say, then we would have seen significant drops in the unemployment number. IF anything you say were to be true regarding Obamas job record, then the unemployment numbers would HAVE to reflect that. THEY DO NOT, AT ALL. So please, stop lying. It's sad.

      8) And because YOU dont care about Joe Sestak, that means that all that happened with him is just irrelevant???? LOL! That means that Obama didnt lie to him to gain his vote for Obamacare? Well what about the other 6 MEMBERS OF THE SESTAK 7 THAT WERE LIED TO AS WELL??? Just irrelevant too? Dont care about them either? So they arent allowed to be brought up OBJECTIVELY in the discussion??? LOL!! You libs are great. ( I noticed you failed to say anything about the Louisiana Purchase or Cornhusker kickback either) Dont blame ya! LOL.

      9) No, actually YOUR argument on taxes is the 'stupidest' argument ever. You use Romney as an example. Yes, lets: Romney paid millions of dollars in taxes. Did YOU? Should he pay a similar rate to the rest of us? Sure, but stop acting like the top 1% dont pay enough taxes when they pay MORE THAN ANY OF US IN TAXES....and yet YOU LIBS BITCH THAT THEY DONT PAY ENOUGH. ITS PATHETIC. Your solution for everything is always class warfare...punish those that have more so we can turn around and give this money to those that want to sit on their ass all day popping out babies they dont care for so the rest of us are forced to provide for them. So much for fairness, personal accountability, and the constitution, eh?

      10) Again, your argument fails in education as well. Catholic and CHARTER schools do MUCH better than public schools, and they deal with overcrowding, drugs, divorce, and language barriers too. And their teachers are PAID LESS, on average than public school children and they have to PAY ALL THEIR RETIREMENT AND HEALTHCARE COSTS. But, guess what, NO UNIONS in private schools or CHARTER schools! DUHHH!!! You libs love your unions, even if they destroy what they are supposed to be helping. Teachers are actually held accountable in private schools and charter schools...they aren't in public schools, they have their union gangster buddies to fight all their battles for them. DUHHHHH!!!

      11) Catholic CHARITIES AND HOPSITALS ARE RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS. They are being forced to provide in their HC policies contraceptives and abortion inducing drugs...WHICH THE CATHOLIC CHURCH WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR!!! What do you NOT get about that and how it is a CLEAR VIOLATION of the first amendment? This isnt about healthcare, it is deeper than that...it is about gross government overreach into our lives in violation of our constitutional rights. And Catholics mainly vote for DEMOCRATS, so it is DEMOCRATS who are against this monstrosity...and GO READ ALL THE POLLS. The MAJORITY OF THIS COUNTRY IS STILL AGAINST GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTHCARE. DUHHH!!!

      12) Just because YOU decide to write in your bible means it is not sacred to other Christians who would never want their sacred text to be burned???? And this somehow makes it ok for Obama to apologize to THEM after they just killed TWO AMERICAN SOLDIERS IN THEIR RIOTING OVER A BOOK made of the same pages and leather that any bible is created out of??? LOL!! WOW, man. JUST WOW. You are waaaaay far gone on your liberal hysteria. Its past desperation now, isnt it? You are actually justifying the death of American soldiers over religious fanatics being upset about a book they didnt want burned!! Amazing! And the books were confiscated in the first place because they were passing secrets along inside them!! How very religious and respectful of their books, werent they!! LOL!!! Just, WOW.

Good day, try not to drown in all that Kool-aid, it's seriously affecting your brain.

I looked at your newsvine page Roanoke, no leaves on your newsvine page. Are you a Fox News troll?

          #2.46 - Sat Feb 25, 2012 7:42 PM EST

Wade, by all means, there is no reason for you not to refute my words that you merely claim are false. At least debate and use some form of logic or reasoning or at least provide a counter-argument...Heck, at least JOregon does that.

I wonder why you didn't attempt to debate, Wade. I think we all know it's because you are simply a mouthpiece, and do not have the intellectual capacity to even provide an argument. All you can do is call other people 'liars.' It's sad. You remind me of your OWS buddies-all bark and whine, but absolutely NO SUBSTANCE. Just a bunch of pooping in the street and assaulting cops, but no real message. LOL. Carry on, Wade.

And its a little stalker-esque that you checked out my newsvine page. Its none of your business how many leaves I have, that is not why I comment. I merely enjoy providing an argument from the other side on topics that mean something to me. I guess, as a liberal, you would rather have EVERYONE on this forum be of the same mind and same political ideology....liberal. It pisses you off to have to deal with others who believe differently than you, eh? So, you call names like 'liar' and 'troll' simply because I am arguing for a different path. And all along you dont even bother to form an argument or debate or even back up or support your claims. You are typical of the left. Isn't there a park near you, just waiting to be occupied?

            #2.47 - Sat Feb 25, 2012 8:44 PM EST

I am not sorry I said what I did to you Roanoke. I reject all the tired arguements you support. Joregon is a better Christain than you are, s/he gets that the poor need to be treated with compassion. Removing all the safety nets IS NOTgoing to eliminate poverty. Changing the tax codes so the burden of getting the country out economic mess it's in is not going to eliminate poverty, if anything poverty will become more wide spread. Christ did not care about material wealth, if you are a Christain do you serve God or money? You cannot serve both.

No I will not let you control the conversation or my responces. So no I am not going to respond to any point you make. I have to respect a person in order to do that. You strike me as a conserative without a conscious.

Ooops! I guess you didnt mute me as promised, eh Wade? LOL!!!

Umm....Wade, I dont remember Christ calling people names if they didnt agree with Him (like you do). I dont remember Christ telling others that they must pay for the choices of the poor. Show compassion for the poor? Sure, Christ said that. But he didnt tell workers that they must provide food, housing, education, healthcare, and a living to the poor while the poor do nothing to better themselves. DEMOCRATS like YOU say that, Christ did not. DEMOCRATS like you have shown that just throwing money at the poor FAILS THEM. YOU ONLY CREATE A DEPENDENT SOCIETY THAT IS INCAPABLE OF TAKING CARE OF ITSELF!! Thanks Dems!!! Wade, carry on with your false liberal drivel.

                  Roanoke

There is really no point in wasting time with such an apparent pseudo-intellectual liberal such as yourself.

Starting to feel like you are in over your head?

liberal such as yourself.........Jew-hating liberal buddies who moonlights on MSNBC every night..............are you so blinded by your party's rhetoric........etc.

I don't hate anyone; Jew, Muslim, Gay, Straight, Male, Female, it doesn't matter I don't hate. I don't hate you, I just feel sad for those that get caught up in the wrong mind set. Especially those that are conned by political gibberish.

I am neither liberal nor conservative. I care more about this world and this nation than I do politics. There are too many people like you, on both sides, that view it as a competition; Blue against Red. Truth doesn't matter. The old, "We must defeat the Liberal/Conservative" mind set kicks in.

I side with liberals on the environment, when man was told to have dominion over the earth (Genesis 1:26) that doesn't mean destroy the earth. We are to care for the earth. Conservatives (term doesn't fit) don't wish to conserve the earth they wish to use it up.

I side with conservatives on abortion. Just because an intelligent living organism is within a woman's body it doesn't give her the right to kill it. Health needs to be be considered, but far too many babies are aborted as a means of birth control.

I am not a Democrat. I did not vote for Obama in the last election. I really liked McCain (at that time). At first I even thought Palin was a good choice, as I dug deeper I felt that there was no way she should ever be in line to be President of this Nation. I didn't vote for President.

This time I am almost certain to vote for Obama because of how the GOP has behaved. I possibly would have voted for Huntsman. I think he was honest and ethical - I suppose that is why he is out of the race.

                  You didnt provide SOURCES

                  *CHUCKLE*

I have provided sources you haven't provided a single one. Nuttin'. Not one single source.

                  Quote me ONE SINGLE source

I'll show you mine if you show me yours. ;-)

I will give you some sources, would be nice if you could do the same. Though I suspect your sources are the lying GOP candidates themselves, or Rush Hannity and Bill O'Coulter.

You need to read more about how we got into Iraq

I am familiar with Iraq, my son spent a year there and is on his second trip to Afghanistan at this moment. I have a greater than average drive to know the truth. You may have a similar motivation for knowing the facts, most do not.

There is no question in my mind Saddam was no better than Hitler. The only difference being Saddam took the gas directly to the villages. If Bush had used that reason for the war I would have had no problem.

                  Instead he lied.

Our intelligence community had a pretty good idea that the documents claiming Iraq was getting Yellowcake Uranium from Niger were forged by early 2002. Joseph Wilson was sent to check it out on behalf of the CIA.

Even though George Bush KNEW that Niger had not supplied any Uranium to Saddam GW Bush said in his State of the Union Speech:

"The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa."

He knew it wasn't true. The CIA told him so. He wanted that war so bad he could taste it. It was because B/C pushed the forged documents instead of our own intelligence that so many supported the invasion.

Just as I would have supported taking out Saddam because of the gassing of the Kurds I support our involvement in Libya - Which really wasn't much of an involvement. So what do you think about Reagan's invasion of Grenada?

                  Earlier you said:

Again, our rising gas prices would be reduced by drilling at home (which Obama and you enviro-nazi-libs are against). Oil production was at 10 million barrels per day under Bush, it's less than 7 under Obama.

Your attempt is to show Obama has somehow hindered Oil Production. That it has fallen since George left office.

Apparently you didn't like my sources, though you have never given any.

                  Let's try this again.

Oil production is the highest it has been in 8 years.

                  http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/02/obama-argues-rising-gas-costs-are-not-his-fault/

Hammering home the point that his administration’s actions are not the cause of rising oil costs, the president boasted that “America is producing more oil today than at any time in the last eight years” and notes that dependence on foreign oil was under 50 percent in 2010, the first time in more than a decade.

Since the President said it, it must not be true, right? Seeing that no one is contradicting that statement it seems it is true.

Is it true? PolitiFact says yes, mostly true.

Even Fox News admits production has gone up, in fact it has risen every year he has been in office.

Fox wants to spin it as in spite of Obama instead of because of Obama, nevertheless production HAS gone up.

                  http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/02/24/obama-administration-seeks-credit-for-increase-domestic-oil-production/

For the first time in 60 years the USA is EXPORTING more oil than it imports.

Back in November the Wall Street Journal wrote:

U.S. exports of gasoline, diesel and other oil-based fuels are soaring, putting the nation on track to be a net exporter of petroleum products in 2011 for the first time in 62 years.

                  Isn't that special?

The number of Oil Drilling rigs has Quadrupled under Obama.

Here is a little (3:44) NPR radio blurb to listen to:

                  http://www.npr.org/player/v2/mediaPlayer.html?action=1&t=1&islist=false&id=147241969&m=147247288

So we have more oil than before yet prices are up - easy to blame the President. Sort of like blaming the QB when the receivers drop passes, the line is porous, the defense allows 56 points, and the coach calls for a field-goal from 65 yards away - when down by 4.

So why are gas prices up?

It has more to do with investors.

                  http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2012/02/21/139521/once-again-speculators-behind.html

Financial speculators are piling into the market, torquing the Iranian fear factor into ever-higher prices.

"Speculation is now part of the DNA of oil prices. You cannot separate the two anymore. There is no demarcation," said Fadel Gheit, a 30-year veteran of energy markets and an analyst at Oppenheimer & Co. "I still remain convinced oil prices are inflated."

Written by, Kevin G. Hall, continues:

Still, oil's price shot up because it trades in financial markets, where Wall Street firms and other big financial players dominate the trading of oil, even though they have no intention of ever taking possession of the oil whose contracts they are trading..........

Defining what percentage of today's high oil and gasoline prices is due to excessive speculation, driven by Iran fears, is something of a guessing game.

"I put the Iran security premium at about $8 to $10 (a barrel) at this point, which still puts crude at about $90 or $95," said John Kilduff, a veteran energy analyst at AgainCapital in New York.......

What should the price of oil be if left to conventional supply and demand market fundamentals? Canada's the largest supplier of imported oil to the United States, which now actually produces more than half of the oil it consumes. Production and delivery costs for a barrel of oil from Canada are about $75 a barrel. The market-fundamentals cost for a barrel of oil is in that ballpark; above that, speculation sets the prices.

"It's as simple as that," said Gheit, who has testified before Congress and called for regulatory limits on speculation in commodities markets.

Historically, financial speculators accounted for about 30 percent of oil trading in commodity markets, while producers and end users made up about 70 percent. Today it's almost the reverse.........

The President has no control over investors, but there is hope, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), has set up a rule to limit speculation. By the authority given to them through the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Only problem is they have to collect a year of info before they can implement it next October.

I can pretty much guarantee Ron Paul would claim this act infringes on the free market. And the GOP is more Wall Street oriented which is opposed to the CFTC regulation. This action to reduce inflated prices was brought to you under Obama's Presidency.

What you have been listening to are the lies spread by the GOP candidates:

                  Paul:

"The neoconservatives who now want us to be in Syria, want us to go to Iran, have another war, and we don't have the money -- today gasoline hit $6 a gallon in Florida -- and we don't have the money." [State average is $3.70, no place was at $6]

                  Santorum:

“And they needed to reduce CO2 emissions,” Santorum said. “Which means you need to drive less. And the only way we could force Americans to drive less was to make it expensive for you to drive. And that’s why, and here we have now a systematic plan in place by this president to, number one, reduce the drilling of oil and gas in this country.” [Covered this earlier, we are drilling more. The President doesn't set gas prices, speculators do]

                  Gingrich:

"We may, in fact, by one estimate, have three times as much oil in the United States as there is in Saudi Arabia." [It is similar only when looking at difficult production from oil shale. So far no company has stepped forward and been willing to harvest the expensive oil shale deposits.]

Romney: I didn't find anything he said about fuel, not that he hasn't, just didn't find anything. So in the fairness of equal treatment I will give you his total lie about our military:

"Our Navy is smaller than it's been since 1917. Our Air Force is smaller and older than any time since 1947." [We had fewer ships under Bush, our fleet has grown by about 10% under Obama, he is probably correct on the number of Aircraft. It is however an irrelevant number. Our technology has made our military many times more powerful. It isn't the number of craft it is what they are capable of doing. Besides it takes years for the military to expand or contract, so blaming Obama is called fibbing.]

The GOP wants people to be able to take care of themselves. Poor people did not become that way automatically. People have choices in life.

                  Pure ignorance.

All sorts of people are out of work today that would love to work. I'm 60 I am fortunate to have a job because at my age people don't hire you. I have a friend that retired as soon as he could because he couldn't get long term work let alone full time work. He has a CDL, and has always worked. When he got laid off he figured no problem. Finally he got so frustrated that he even went to one interview and asked the guy straight up, "Since I am close to 60 do I have any chance of being hired." Took the interviewer by surprise. He told him they don't discriminate on age .....but he said all of the people they had hired were in their 20's and 30's.

When the tax breaks for the wealthy kicked in people sold out. Remember that good American company AB making Budwhizzer? Great time to sell when you get to pocket more of the money. Several companies sold to foreign interests because they were the ones buying. America went to a sell mode.

All that we got out of that is a huge gap between the rich and the poor.

Any idea where those who sold out spent their money? I'm betting Mercedes, Ferrari, and Rolls instead of Ford, GM, and Chrysler. Homes in Croatia, Italy, the Bahama's.

Those Tax breaks did nothing for America, except make more people poor. If you think the vast majority are poor by choice you don't have a clue. People are getting out of college only to find there are no jobs. Our Veterans are leaving the military and ending up homeless. Things have just recently begun to look up. You are a typical blind GOP mouthpiece that has no idea of reality.

Racist liberals like you enjoy giving massive amounts of handouts to people, much of the time to minorities, so you can KEEP THEM POOR and DEPENDENT on the government for survival...thus creating a massive voter block every year for you liberals.

Yep, giving someone healthcare so they can be healthy enough to work is certain to keep them down.

One reason people my age have problems getting work is because there is a fear it will cause an increase in healthcare insurance costs. Having a national standard might actually help get them hired, after all experience should account for something.

You are such a selfish person you would rather people get sick and die. More work for you right?

Just because YOU decide to write in your bible means it is not sacred to other Christians who would never want their sacred text to be burned?

A Christian, that is true to the word, does not worship objects.

You apparently don't know anything about Christianity. That is OK, but I suggest asking a friend that has spent some time in the word about these things before you comment.

they just killed TWO AMERICAN SOLDIERS IN THEIR RIOTING OVER A BOOK made of the same pages and leather that any bible is created out of?

Because THEY worship an object. Many people worship objects. As guests in their country we need to honor their customs. You are more like the Ugly American, arrogant, selfish, inconsiderate.

Christians are commanded to worship God only. Most Christians recognize Jesus as God so we worship him too. Others separate Jehovah God and only worship Jehovah, there is no place in scripture that suggests worshiping the physically written word.

That is probably too much and I have wasted enough time on this, just a thought you might want to check out the PolitiFact sight for lies made by Obama, and the GOP candidates among others.

s/he gets that the poor need to be treated with compassion.

JOregon is a true walk the talk Christian. I wish all Christians were like JOregon.

                    I appreciate your kind words.

Christ did not care about material wealth, if you are a Christain do you serve God or money? You cannot serve both.

That has become a real problem in the "Christian" Community. Far too many claim Christ but worship money, I suppose they might find it easy to worship a book of paper and leather too.

Too many in the GOP worship Mammon for my taste.

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Joregan, My favorite passage from the bible is

                      1 Corinthians Chapter 13

1Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become [as] sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

3And though I bestow all my goods to feed [the poor], and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

                      5Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

                      6Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8Charity never faileth: but whether [there be] prophecies, they shall fail; whether [there be] tongues, they shall cease; whether [there be] knowledge, it shall vanish away.

9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

13And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity.

I wonder about the real commitment of any "Christian," who doesn't live this chapter every day.

                        I agree.

It is a very nice passage, also one of my favorites.

In Oregon, directly East of Eugene there is a grouping of Mountains known as The Three Sisters.

Originally they were named Faith, Hope, and Charity (not sure of the order). Now they are known as North Sister, Middle Sister and South Sister. I have often felt it was too bad the original names were dropped.

JOregon, this is me exposing all of your lies. And notice, within the article I cite, your favorite 'source' Politifact, has actually done several about-faces on these issues. Looks like you should update your information...Yikes.

                          From Factcheck.org:

"President Obama’s first 2012 campaign ad misleads on ethics, “clean-energy” jobs and U.S. dependence on oil imports. ('misleads' as in what YOU do JOregon)

                          • The spot uses outdated quotes from groups that said his record on ethics is “unprecedented” and that he “kept a promise to toughen ethics rules.” One of those same groups said later that he “has let down millions of Americans who accepted his word,” and another rated his promise as “broken.”
                          • The 30-second TV spot also trumpets a claim of “2.7 million jobs” in “America’s clean-energy industry.” That mostly counts jobs put in place long before Obama took office.
                          • Finally, it boasts that U.S. dependence on foreign oil has declined to below 50 percent, as a net share of total demand, for the first time in more than a decade. That’s true, and increasing U.S. oil production is a factor (despite Republican criticisms that Obama is anti-drilling). But economists say the chief factor is reduced oil consumption, brought on by the recent economic recession.

                          Kept, Then Broken

The ad brazenly quotes our fact-checking colleagues at PolitiFact saying that President Barack Obama “kept his promise to toughen ethics rules.” But based on events since that initial finding, PolitiFact has updated its ruling on Obama’s promise to toughen rules against a revolving door for lobbyists, and the site now rates it as a Promise Broken.

That initial PolitiFact assessment cited in the Obama 2012 ad came a day after Obama was sworn in as president, and after Obama had issued an executive order that required every executive agency appointee to sign an ethics pledge that bans gifts from lobbyists, restricted former lobbyists from participating in any matters on which they had previously lobbied, prohibited them from serving in agencies they had lobbied within the previous two years, and prohibited employees from lobbying the Obama administration after they leave.

Based on that order, PolitiFact marked two campaign promises as kept: one involving tougher rules against a revolving door for lobbyists and former officials, and another banning lobbyist gifts to executive employees.

The promise banning lobbyist gifts remains a Promise Kept. But two days after rating the promise to toughen rules against a revolving door for lobbyists and former officials as “kept,” PolitiFact noted that the order included a waiver clause. And, in fact, the administration had already sought two waivers for appointees, including one for William J. Lynn III, a former lobbyist for the defense contractor Raytheon, who was tapped to be deputy secretary of defense. The promise was downgraded to “Compromise.” It turned out that two other officials received waivers, and that other former lobbyists were simply recused from discussions related to their former lobbying interests. On March 17, 2009, two months after its initial finding, PolitiFact rated it a Promise Broken.---YIKES!!

                          And more:

The ad accurately cites figures from a report from the Brookings Institution, which estimated the “clean economy … employs some 2.7 million workers.” But the report cited a trend line that began long before Obama took office.---LOL!!!

Brookings Institution, July 13, 2011: Overall, today’s clean economy establishments added half a million jobs between 2003 and 2010, expanding at an annual rate of 3.4 percent.

The ad also states, “For the first time in 13 years, our dependence on foreign oil is below 50 percent.” But again, it’s questionable how much credit Obama gets for that. The same Energy Information Administration report cited in the ad concluded that the downward trend began in 2005 and was based on a “variety of factors,” most of them outside Obama’s control.--OOPS!!!

And Finally: "EIA report, 2011: There is no single explanation for the decline in U.S. oil import dependence since 2005. Rather, the trend results from a variety of factors. Chief among those is a significant contraction in consumption. (BECAUSE WE ARE ALL POOR!!!!!) (LOL) U.S. oil product deliveries declined by 1.7 million barrels per day (bbl/d) to 19.1 bbl/d in 2010, from 20.8 million bbl/d in 2005. This decline partly reflects the downturn in the underlying economy after the financial crisis of 2008. Not surprisingly, demand has bounced back somewhat from a low of 18.8 million bbl/d in 2009, when the U.S. economy bottomed out. But the downward trend in consumption started two years before the 2008 crisis and reflects factors such as changes in efficiency and consumer behavior as well as patterns of economic growth."

So you can stop making up lies, JOregon. We all see right through them. You are just a typical know-nothing liberal easily bamboozled by your liberal ideology. You are only capable of being a parrot. Its rather crazy, that the same liberals that piss and moan about all the de-regulation of the oil companies under Bush with all of his Texas oil-buddies would ACTUALLY NOW make the argument that Obama is out-drilling Bush (after a nearly one year long oil MORATORIUM). LOL! It's ludicrous. Obama uses everything else as a campaign photo-op, so where are all the picutures of him standing beside some glorious shiny pumping away oil-rig that he recently endorsed or allowed to operate??? Havent seen a single one of those??? Me neither. WIERD. LOL!!

                          http://factcheck.org/2012/01/misleading-claims-in-obamas-first-2012-spot/

And just a little more, because it's fun destroying your pathetic argument:

"The increase in domestic drilling was almost entirely in areas for which the Obama administration exercised no authority, as oil production on federal land declined by 11 percent in fiscal year 2011, according to a study by the Institute on Energy Research (IER), a free-market energy think tank. But oil production on state lands increased that year by 14 percent and increased by 12 percent on private lands. (there you libs go again, taking credit for something YOU HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH, LOL).

“A lot of the wells that were supposed to be drilled weren’t because of the moratorium,” Dan Kish, senior vice president for policy at the Institute of Energy Research, told CNSNews.com. “Drilling is up in the U.S. on lands he has no say over. On lands he has all the say over, drilling is down."---LOL!!!

Obama said "We’re making progress on this front,” he said. “In 2010, our dependence on foreign oil was under 50 percent for the first time in 30 years. In 2011, the United States relied less on foreign oil than in any of the last 16 years. Because of the investments we’ve made, the use of clean, renewable energy in this country has nearly doubled, and thousands of Americans have jobs because of it.” HOWEVER:

"PolitiFact.org, another fact check organization, cited Obama’s boasts of reduced dependence on foreign oil as “half true.”---OOOPPS!!!!

“As PolitiFact has reported before, deep-water production comes after years of exploration and preparation,” the group reported. “It does not happen overnight and gains made during Obama’s term so far have roots in previous administrations and economic difficulties that have had factories and households paring back."

                          "

Obama’s insistence that he supports an “all of the above” strategy for energy production is not evident by his actions, said Jack Gerard, president of the American Petroleum Institute.

Today, 85 percent of the outer-continental shelf has been placed off limits once again. When he took office, there were proposals on the table to open up opportunities in those areas,” Gerard told CNSNews.com. “Today, in the Rocky Mountains, the leasing has gone down 70 percent since taking office." ---LOL!!!

And one last point, on your FALSE CLAIM ABOUT OIL RIGS GOING UP UNDER OBAMA??? ARE YOU INSANE???

"What you are seeing in Louisiana is only a small piece of larger mosaic being put together by the Obama Administration to make affordable energy as inaccessible as possible,” he said. “From the administration’s war on coal to the serious consideration it is giving to imposing a nationwide regulation of hydraulic fracturing, to its shut down of deepwater drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, to its ‘endangerment finding’ from the EPA [Environmental Protection Agency], the administration is practicing its own form of selected industrial sabotage.”
The backlog of permits that have been approved, but not activated, must reach a level of 60 as opposed to the 30 that were counted at the end of August to support the active rig count, which now stands at 20, the report says. The current pace permitting pace is down dramatically from where it has been in recent years. Historically, there have been three times the number of permits in backlog than there have been deepwater rigs operating in the Gulf, FBR analysts point out.--OOOPS, YOUR LIE IS EXPOSED AGAIN!! LOL.

Between 2006 and 2010, there were typically three times the number of permits in backlog than there were deepwater rigs working in the GOM (Gulf of Mexico),” the report says. “…Using the August 2011 pace of eight unique well APDs (A Permit to Drill) per month, the best-case scenario would be a rig count of just 14 rigs, less than the 28 marketed rigs in the Gulf. However this assumes sustainable just in-time permitting which, in our opinion, is unlikely. Based on the historical 3X ratio between APD backlog and rig count, a pace of 27 permits per month would be needed to support 28 rigs by the end of the year.”

FBR has also identified “structural headwinds” that include “hiring and funding constraints, potential safety and permitting legislation, pending drilling safety regulation revisions and ongoing environmental litigation,” that will specifically impact the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE)’s ability to improve upon the current pace of permitting.

In a letter addressed to DOI Secretary Ken Salazar and BOERME Director Michael Bromwich, Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) expressed his “ongoing concern with the pace of permitting for offshore production in the Gulf of Mexico.”

The latest figures available show there were 19 floating units operating in the Gulf, which up from a low of four in third quarter of 2010, but down from the average of 28 in the period ranging from 2007-2009, Vitter told federal officials in his letter.

“A rough estimate would suggest that each rig consumes 3 permits per year in order to stay actively working in the Gulf (28 rigs divided by 84 permits equals 3 permits/rig), Vitter wrote. “Given that a typical deepwater well takes approximately 120 days to drill, one can also assume that the roughly estimated numbers are fairly accurate. Accordingly, at Interior’s 2011 pace of permitting what is the anticipated attrition rate of rigs from the GOM? Over the next two years, what are the anticipated production and employment impacts from the current pace of permitting? ”

Vitter also inquired the number of times permit requests have been filed. Some operators claim they have filed an average of 3.6 times, with multiple permits surpassing eight times.

The letter then asks federal officials to address the economic fallout attached to diminished rig activity.

“For each rig not operating in the Gulf of Mexico, what is the multiplier effect on the Gulf economy?”
Vitter asks. “How are small businesses, including but not limited to helicopter firms, restaurants, welders, carpenters, marinas, and hotels impacted by the loss of each rig? How is our economy impacted if in 2012 there are 1/3 the drilling rigs working in the Gulf than there were in 2009?”

The letter concludes by asking how much money the federal government has awarded to various environmental groups, which have filed suit over a new drilling plan. It reads as follows:

“On June 9, 2011 the Natural Resources Defense Council, Defenders of Wildlife, Center for Biological Diversity, Sierra Club, Inc., Gulf Restoration Network, Inc, and Florida Wildlife Federation filed suit challenging BOEMRE’s approval of Shell’s drilling plan. Can you please provide the total amount in attorneys’ fees that Interior Department has awarded these environmental groups under the Equal Access to Justice Act and Judgment Fund for fiscal years 2008 through 2011?

The oil rigs that have departed the Gulf include the Stena Forth, Ocean Confidence, Ocean Endeavor, Transocean Marinas, Ensco 8503, Ensco DS-4, Noble Clyde Boudreaux, Discoverer Spirit, Transocean Amirante, Noble Paul Romano and Ocean Monarch."

                          http://www.thepelicanpost.org/2011/09/13/20-more-oil-rigs-could-leave-the-gulf-unless-permitting-is-increased/

Let me know when your head stops spinning. I realize the facts must really blow your mind. Lay off that Kool-Aid now, and you might actually learn something. But, I doubt it! LOL.

Even if what you posted is true Roanoke, don't expect me to fall in line behind any GOP candidate. Has O'bama erred or stumbled? Possibly. I prefer O'bama's errors to anything Romney is offering. Romney has stumbled almost every time he spoke. I refuse to say what I think about Santorum. My vote in the Florida primary for Newt, yes I am a Republican, but my mindset is 1860's , was a vote of no confidence against Romney. I am voting Democratic in the general election.

Spoken like a true pseudo-intellectual liberal that has no idea what he is talking about, Wade. Thanks for providing for us the face of liberalism. You dont care ONE BIT about any of Obama's failures, broken promises, or lies. You are going into the voter booth and blindly pulling as many blue levers as possible. People like YOU are what is wrong with this country. You obviously have NO principles and NO values and NO fortitude and it seems like you dont have ANY idea who you are...which is why it is so easy for you to switch back and forth between parties. Only fools do that. You know NOTHING about Romney (this is evidenced by your post) yet you say you have no confidence in him. This is a man that has proven VERY capable of working with a state legislature that is 85% Democrat...unlike Obama who has proven completely that he is NOT capable of working with others from the opposite side of the aisle. Romney is a man who has good morals, yet you vote FOR Newt and claim to be Christian?!!? A man who cheated on his wife and violated ethics rules as Speaker??? LOL!!! That's a good one. You cant get any more hypocritical than that! Either way, Repubs will hold the house, and probably win the Senate. So, if Obama is re-elected by people like you, you are simply voting for 4 more years of gridlock and nothing getting done (because we both know Obama is not about triangulating, he wants to go as far left as possible).

Bottom line, its not about right and wrong, good and bad, or objectivity for you. You are simply a mouthpiece, a parrot, that will blindly vote blue no matter what the circumstances. YOU are part of the dumbing down of America. Thanks!!

I actually have a life other than here. I haven't had time for much more than short posts. Yours are long and so far have always been full of BS.

Besides I haven't lied, I have given information that is out there on various legitimate and reputable sites. I other words while you demand sources and don't give them I have given sources and listened to you spread rumors, and paranoid delusion chain letter style rants.

It is nice to see you finally include some links to check out.

I will do that and get back to you when I can, but I repeat I have been busy. Worked 9.5 hours Monday and 9.75 Tuesday, took today off to run errands and take care of chores. This is a short hour break, so I will look into your post when I have the time maybe tonight.

Don't accuse me of lying unless you have proof I have. If I have posted something that is not true it is because I was misinformed, on other topics I have corrected what I posted when I was in error (#669.2).

Roanoke, I can not speak for JOregon, nor will I try too. I do know JOregon has been more patient with you then I ever will be. You cloak yourself in Christianity, and I'm sure you think you are a Christian in the same sense Archie Bunker considered himself to be a Christian. What I find lacking in you is a lack of love or compassion for those you disagree with, or those who are doing less well than you are. I put you on ignore days ago. I have zero tolerance for bigots, what ever their color, and bullies what ever their age. You take for granted, that he will respond. I will respond to you only when I choose to if at all. It's hypocrite's like you who give Christianity a bad name.

One of the reasons I tire of talking with you is because you stretch the truth and make overly long posts full of dishonest or irrelevant information.

                                        You didn't expose any lies.

Here is a suggestion, post my lie, then post your exposé.

Please don't waste my time with links to information we have not discussed claiming it exposes some lie I have told. For instance all that rambling about lobbyists has nothing to do with anything I have said.

As another example of wasting my time:

On March 17, 2009, two months after its initial finding, PolitiFact rated it a Promise Broken.---YIKES!!

So let me get this straight. You believe in a free market right? You believe that the markets achieve efficiency without intervention. Let GM fail, let Chrysler fail, let Goldman fail, let the markets do their work.

But now you are critical of gas prices? A commodity that adjusts by supply and demand. That arguably is now up because of the sanctions imposed on Iran, yet you say Obama isn't supportive of Israel?

I do not understand how you people will support an ideology that is obviously not in your economic self interest because you believe that the Republic party is the only one that that will support your beliefs while constantly suppressing your opportunity. Faith is a good thing, blind faith is a slippery slope - and you my friend are sliding down the slope and into a ditch.

The true Republican theory is smaller government and less intrusion, not to be confused with no intrusion or leadership. I think the biggest trouble with Obama is that he is a socialist...everyone has to make choices what type of government we want. Meanwhile, we should follow the constitution.

Hmmm did you change your comment after I voted you up mrwarmth? I voted for the "speculation" comment that was right after JK's comment. Then when my page refreshed, you had a different comment. I was getting ready to comment that Yes, that speculation is based on the Iranian situation as much as it is on supply and demand in this country. Our gas prices haven't been based on US supply and demand for at least a decade or longer, but on world market speculation on world supply and demand. With India, China, and Brazil now demanding more of the world's oil/gas supplies, the price of the commodities in the US will continue to rise, just as they will throughout the world. THAT is the "free market" at work...oil companies getting richer and richer off of the speculation that they help drive, while the consumer gets poorer having to pay for that rising price of the commodity with NO control over it.

It is time to eliminate EVERY SINGLE subsidy, credit, deduction, and other tax loophole for these greedy corporations, and end the Bush tax cuts and all other tax cuts for everyone. Go to a Gross Income (all sources of income) tax with NO tax on the first $25K of income, 15% tax on income over $25K up to $250K, 30% tax on income over $250 up to $750K, and 45% tax on all income over $750K. Then maybe we can achieve a "balanced budget" (something that only occurred during a short time span of Andrew Jackson's presidency) AND reduce our debt.

I agree with you about oil prices and speculation by the "free market." I also agree with your tax plan, in theory. I live in a state with a flat state income tax and it works fine. Why not put it into place in the country? We have to get rid of the present tax code.

As for changing my original comment, sorry if it was confusing.

I'm noticing the searing anger toward anyone with anything positive to say about President Obama in the comments of this thread. You know what they say about wearing your heart on your sleeve... letting those emotions rule you, right? Where does such animosity come from? there is nothing to be so angry about just because Chloe and nobland expressed their approval of President Obama.

Such petty sniping proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that you have no real argument or insightful reason for disapproval.

In 2010, the 'In Performance at the White House' series on PBS featured Paul McCartney, who was being celebrated for his song writing achievements.

It included all sorts of people and groups performing some of Sir Paul's amazing music, plus a speech or two and then a concert by Mr. McCartney himself.

It also happened to be the BEST thing I watched on television that year. It was awesome. If this one was anything close to it, then I highly recommend you checking it out. And, even if you don't, for the love of music, get online and find a copy of that entire performance with Sir Paul. Regardless of your politics, you will absolutely love it…

Let's compare first ladies...ya know...lavish spending sprees and vacations in Spain, Italy, Aspen, etc...while the country is in a massive recession...

Let's compare campaigning for the last 18 months on TAXPAYER-FUNDED bus tours all across America...

                                                From ABC:

"The Obamas have been drawing heat for their 17-day Hawaiian holiday, estimated by some media outlets to cost taxpayers over $4 million.

But the criticism doesn’t stop there. Now first lady Michelle Obama is under scrutiny for her high-end fashion choices.

For the Christmas Day church service at the Kaneohe Bay Marine Base, Mrs. Obama was photographed in a seemingly simple white sundress with red and yellow stripes. The dress, however, was by French-born, U.S.-based designer Sophie Theallet, and would have cost the first lady almost $2,000 when she bought it in 2009. More recent designs by Theallet sell for even more.

For the meet-and-greet with service members and their families in a nearby mess hall later in the day, Mrs. Obama dressed down — in a printed green $950 Comme des Garcons skirt with bag waist.

Some see the first lady’s penchant for expensive labels at odds with her reputation as a bargain shopper who supposedly frequents J. Crew and Target.

One comment read: “She claims to be a champion of the poor and a fellow bargain shopper, but yet, here she is, sporting a dress that no unemployed American can afford.”

President Barack Obama’s dinner last night with the first lady and friends was similarly out of range for many Americans. The group dined at Alan Wong’s Restaurant, an upscale eatery that specializes in Hawaiian Regional Cuisine and is a favorite of the first couple."

                                                From Hawaii Reporter:

                                                "UNKNOWN COSTS

There are several costs the White House annually refuses to release, citing security.

                                                  • For example, the president’s security usually rents an entire floor of an office building in Kailua on the canal during the president’s stay.
                                                  • There are security upgrades and additional phone lines to several private homes where Obama and friends are staying. That includes bullet proof glass installed, home security systems disabled, new security measures put into place and additional phone lines added.
                                                  • There is the cost for car rentals and fuel for White House staff staying at Moana Hotel.
                                                  • And there are additional travel costs Secret Service and White House staff traveling ahead of the President.

The total cost (based on what is known) for a 17-day round trip vacation to Hawaii for the President and his family and staff and security is an estimated $4,113,038.

Hawaii Reporter annually has requested details on the cost of the President’s trip, but the White House will not release any figures, citing security concerns."

                                                LOL!!!!!

                                                And from CBS's Mark Knoller:

"The pilots and crew of Air Force One are flying more hours than a rookie on a beer run. They are tired of it too, and are adding more crew to Air Force-1, – I know this for a fact because I'm one of the instructors that trains the crews Our company (Atlas Air) has had the Air Force-1 and E-4 contract for over two years and I've been doing it for about 8 months now.

Last year (2010) Obama flew in Air Force One 172 times, almost every other day.

White House officials have been telling reporters in recent days that the Democrat doesn't intend to hang around the White House quite so much in 2011. They explain he wants to get out more around the country because, as everyone knows, that midterm election shellacking on Nov. 2 had nothing to do with his health care bill, over-spending or other policies, and everything to do with Obama's not adequately explaining himself to his countrymen and women.

And with only 673 days remaining in Obama's never ending presidential campaign, the incumbent's travel pace will not likely slacken.

At an Air Force-estimated cost of $181,757 per flight HOUR (not to mention the additional travel costs of Marine One, Secret Service, logistics and local police overtime), that's a lot of frequent flier dollars going into Obama's carbon footprint.

We are privy to some of these numbers thanks to CBS' Mark Knoller, a bearded national treasure trove of presidential stats. According to Knoller's copious notes, during the last year, Obama made 65 domestic trips over 104 days, and six trips to eight countries over 22 days. Not counting six vacation trips over 32 days.

He took 196 helicopter trips, signed 203 pieces of legislation and squeezed in 29 rounds of left-handed golf."

And finally, from writer Joseph Farah, because he writes the truth:

"You won’t hear me complain that Obama is taking his 17th vacation in the last two-and-half years.

You won’t hear me suggest it sends a bad signal to the millions of Americans hurting economically – many of whom haven’t been able to afford a single, modest vacation since Obama took office.

And you certainly won’t hear me suggest that Obama is somehow needed in Washington to deal with a multitude of crises, especially the economy he has ravaged.

There’s an old adage in Washington that the only time the country is safe is when Congress is out of session. With a president who thinks he’s a legislator and a lawmaker, one who signs executive orders like Derek Jeter signs autographs, the nation is indeed safer when Obama is on an extended holiday.

                                                Think about it.

Do you really want Obama in Washington concocting more ways to “stimulate” the economy?

Do you really want Obama in Washington doing more of what he has done since Jan. 20, 2009?

Do you really want Obama in Washington dreaming up new ways to curtail our freedoms and empower Big Government?

                                                You know what I mean?

This is not the time to complain, when Obama is minding his own business. This is the only time he is not a threat to the rest of us.

We shouldn’t complain that he is on hiatus. We should all want to see him on permanent hiatus. We should complain when he returns.

Furthermore, I don’t understand all the griping about how much time he takes off, how much time he spends playing golf, how much time he spends playing basketball, etc.

We should be grateful the man has no work ethic. Just imagine the damage he would have done to the country if he did. For heaven’s sake, he has turned the country into an economic basket case working part time!

Did you know Obama has played more rounds of golf halfway through his four-year term than any of his predecessors, including those who spent eight years or more in office?--LOL!!

Of course, that reality never stops Obama from telling us all how busy he is, how hard he is working, what a tough schedule he keeps. He has literally taken at least 13 vacations in 32 months. That does not include weekend getaways to Camp David – the kind of experience that would be an unforgettable dream of a lifetime for most Americans. (and see, thats what libs like JOREGON do, they skew the numbers by including GWB's time spent at Camp David as Vacation Days, but then do not do so for Obama). Does not include many trips domestically that were political, fundraising excursions that had nothing to do with his job in the White House, the ones we pay him to do. It also does not include most of the foreign travel he has done with his family and a cast of thousands.----YEP!!! LOL!!

He’s been golfing more than 60 times as president. (its actually over 75 now) Let me try to put this in some context for you. At an average of five hours per trip to the links, Obama has spent the equivalent of two months of his presidency’s available working time on the golf course. (LOL!!!!!)Of course, that doesn’t even count the hours traveling in presidential motorcades to and from the courses. It also doesn’t count any time he spends on the White House putting green.-----WOW!!!

So he vacations more than any of his predecessors, and he golfs more. What else does he do with his time?

He raises money for his 2012 re-election campaign – a lot of time.

By last count, he has attended at least 40 fundraisers since taking office – and with 2012 nearing, that schedule will increase.

Obama is boasting about his ability to raise a record-setting $1 billion for his re-election effort. Daily I get email fundraising pleas from Obama. He asks for money more than any televangelist I’ve ever seen. He uses the assets of the White House for much of this activity. Fundraisers include food tastings with the White House chef and overnights in the Lincoln bedroom a la Bill Clinton.

All of this activity takes time.

But I’m not complaining because it’s time not spent shredding the Constitution or scheming about new ways to rob taxpayers.

Again, I’m not complaining. As far as I’m concerned, the more time Obama spends on the golf course, on vacation or dispossessing his supporters of their money, the less time he has to bankrupt the country.

Maybe he just doesn’t know how he is supposed to behave. Remember, Obama has never had a real job outside of politics.

                                                He really didn’t practice law.

He really wasn’t a college professor.

He was a community organizer who became a state legislator and then a U.S. senator. If you recall, even as a legislator, he missed more votes than he cast."

Golfing? Golfing? You have a problem with someone getting exercise? I never have understood the complaint of a President golfing.

I know lots of people that golf - and guess what? They are still able to do their job quite well.

Lots of doctors golf and still work long hours in a high stress job. That's the Kicker. When in a high stress job it helps to get away and do something physical. It helps you do your job better - Bush should have golfed more, his job performance suffered.

Since you mention Bush and Golf lets look at that:

                                                  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3p9y_OEAdc

The sad thing is because of his mouth, he was criticized for the golf, and vowed to quit golfing. He still did, just not as much.

Lets compare how many times either Bush privately flew the family dog on Air Force I ALONE to and from vacations at taxpayer expense...

You really need to quit getting your information from chain emails and Obama haters:

                                                  http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/bo.asp

For me that is the real problem. This twisting of the truth, lies, and biased attacks coming from the Right has made me decide to vote Democrat 100%. Usually I don't go that way but I am pissed off at all the lies. I refuse to be conned by the cheapshot artists.

I suppose there may be a variety of reasons why so many lies are floating around to attack Obama. Some don't like him because he is a Liberal. Some hate him because of his black father. Others because of his personality, there is no question that far to many lies are being spread around. I refuse to be controlled.

I'm not going to address the rest of your post I don't have time to address lies, rumors, and the expectation that the President shouldn't be human.

Live your fantasy, put a ring in your nose and let the Bull Sh!t artists lead you away.

As for me I will do what I think is best for this nation.

                                                    HA!!

I knew it. I knew you would simply make a pathetic attempt at deflecting away from ALL of the issues I named and focus on just one thing...golfing. And then sadly you had to cry "mercy" in regards to the entirety of the rest of my post with your "I'm not going to address the rest of your post I don't have time to address lies, rumors, and the expectation that the President shouldn't be human." How typically liberal of you. Just deny and call the others' arguments lies. LOL!! Thanks for playing, and thanks for showing us what liberalism is all about.

                                                    *CHUCKLE*

Ahhh. Have fun in pseudo-reality lib land as you run away with your tail tucked between your legs.

(And your concession is noted) ;-)

No. Just have better things to do with my time than waste it on pointless discussions.

I saw him on New Years' Eve a few years ago. He is amazing. In case anyone didn't read the story, this was a concert in honor of the blues, for Black History Month. I would actually pay real money to have heard Romney try to sing in the same situation.

I had the pleasure to meet Muddy Waters at a friend's home in Chicago when I was in high school. I found him to be a gentleman as well.

I rarely see stories about blues singers being involved in crime or violence. Must be something to putting your troubles into the music and letting the music take the troubles away. Blues music takes away the hate and just makes the world a better place.

I was happy to see Warren Haynes and Susan Tedeschi in the mix. Too bad Susan's husband Derek Trucks wasn't in the mix. Derek Trucks is a lot like Warren Haynes... he can play ANYTHING, esp. the blues.

TACTICS FOR EFFECTIVE CONSERVATIVE BLOGGING By Karl Rove

Engage Demand an elaborate, time-consuming comparison / analysis between your position and theirs. Entangle Insist that the Liberal put their posts in their own words. That will consume the most time and effort for the Liberal poster

They will be unable to spread numerous points on numerous blogs if you have them occupied. Allowing a Liberal to post a web link is too quick and efficient for them. Tie them up. We are going for delay of game here. Demoralize Dismiss their narrative as rubbish immediately.

Do not even read it. Once the Liberal goes through the trouble to research, gather, collate, compose and write their narrative your job is to discredit it. Make it obvious you tossed their labor-intensive narrative aside like garbage. This will have the effect of demoralizing the Liberal poster.

It will make them unwilling to expend the effort again, and for us, that is a net win

Attack Attack the source. Any Liberal website or information source must be marginalized, trivialized and discounted. Let the blogosphere know that Truthout.org, thinkprogress.org,
the nation and moveon.org are Liberal rubbish propaganda. Discredit Liberal sources of information whenever possible. Confuse Challenge the Liberal position with questions,
always questions. The questions need not be relevant. The goal is to knock the Liberal poster off their game, and seize control of the narrative

Once you have control you can direct the narrative to where you want it to go, which is always away from letting the Liberal make their point. Conversely, do not respond to their leading questions. Don't rise to their bait. Contain Your job is to prevent the presentation and spread of Liberal viewpoints.

Do anything you must do to prevent a Liberal poster from presenting a well-reasoned argument or starting a civil discussion.

Don't allow a Liberal to present their dogma unchallenged EVER. Intimidate Taunt the Liberals.

If you find yourself in a debate with a Liberal where you are losing a fact-based argument
then call them a name to derail their diatribe. Remember your goal is toprevent a meaningful exchange of views and ideas which may portray Liberalism in a positive light.

Your goal as a conservative blogger is to stop the spread and advance of the Liberal agenda. Play upon any identifiable idiosyncrasies, character flaws, physical traits, names, to their disadvantage

Monitor other posts for vulnerabilities you can exploit. Stay on the offensive with Liberal wimps. Don't let up. Insult their Movement Assign as many character and moral flaws toLiberals as you can. You must portray Liberals as weak, vacillating, indecisive, amoral, baby killers, unpatriotic, effete snobs, elitists, Leftists, Commies, sense of entitlement, promiscuous, union lovers, tax raisers, Welfare Queens, Socialists, lazy, sex-obsessed, druggies, Jesus haters, moochers, troop hater,.etc. Always use these negative epithets when referring to, or describing Liberals / democrats.

Deceive Identify yourself as a moderate, centrist or independent. It will also cause Liberals to lower their guard a bit, which gives you an effective opening. This may also have the
effect of aligning conservative viewpoints with the real moderates we are attempting to reach.

It may serve to influence some moderates over to the Republican side. Patriotism Always claim the high ground of pro-military, low taxes, strong defense, morality and religion. We own those virtues. Learn how to exploit them when debating

Demean Always refer to the other

He isn't required to release his transcripts but anyone who can head Harvard Law Review can walk circles around you and the twinkies the GOP is running. And, if you could actually understand things, it has been explained over and over that both he and Michelle got student loans - which they paid in full! Now, move on to the fact that you don't like the way his pants are pressed!

Still, this was the music I listened to in High School, College, and even today (soon to be at age 60), I love it.

                                                          Why is this even news?

It seems the lamestream media continues to push entertainment "news" as if it actually matters.

The president should have more meaningful things to do besides constantly being entertained as if he were an emperor. Celebrities, fashion, sports, dancing with the idots, it all speaks of ONE thing: the mushy, programmed, unthinking mass of crap between most people's ears.

While the country loses it's liberties under this (and all) administrations, and the wars continue, and the threats of war continue, and the middle class collapses, the media ignores actual news and instead wastes time on how an elitist in power spends OUR money to entertain himself and his supporters.

Just for your observation, a story completely IGNORED yesterday by ALL lamestream media - Veterans showed up by the hundreds to turn their backs on the White House in PROTEST against the wars. Did you see that? You may want to check Youtube rather than idiot tube.

Instead we see M. Obama skiing and blues night for Obama,

I don't give a crap about celebrities sucking up for a photo op with someone who lied to the people who voted him into office. Pathetic. Grow a set and stand up against the NDAA, drones in our skies and the loss of our freedoms.

Our President is a real human being and it shows for most of us. Real people respect one another. All politics aside, I can't wait for the show on PBS, another real facts outlet. Those of you that don't enjoy solid, awesome entertainment, don't have to watch the show. I wouldn't miss it for the world, with a line up like this, it is truly amazing.

It is too bad today's kids don't seem to be all that interested in the people that can actually hit the notes.

When I was in HS there was an underage club in town where we listened to Buddy Guy, Charley Musselwhite, and Muddy Waters (among others).

When I hit drinking age the venue only got wider as we could go to any number of places playing real musicians.

Today a lot of kids just want a DJ - sad.

... and the loss of our freedoms.

NukeG, did you really imply that Obama is responsible for the loss of our freedoms? Must I remind you who sponsored and passed the Patriot Act? No one is responsible for the loss of our freedoms more than George Bush and John Ashcroft.

Since Obama came into office, both the citizens of Washington DC and the City of Chicago now can have handguns. In fact most gun laws have become less restrictive under Obama than pre-Obama.

Look at all the new legislation being floated since the big Rebub win in 2010. All the new laws limiting workers rights to collectively bargain is a LOSS of freedom. And the all out WAR on women's health that we've seen from both Rick Santorum and the Virginia legislature shows CLEARLY that Republicans are the party of BIG BROTHER government. They have a CLEAR track record of sponsoring legislation that limits freedoms. You must be completely blind or brainwashed to believe otherwise.

The best part of all this is that a conservative like me will always manage to turn a buck no matter who is in office, too bad for you liber-losers that really need a guy like Obama to provide for you. Best example I can site is this. Notice how Hollywood filled kids brains with the idea of "hope and change" back in the 90's? Now, none of these kids that voted for "hope and change" can find any jobs. Fate is not without a sense of irony my good friends. I can bring up more examples but whats the point. If the folks on the left dont get it by now, they never will. Better hope you dont work in any of the areas Obama has targeted folks.

nycl, us "folks on the left" get it just fine. We get the fact that the stock market is hovering around 13000, jobs are returning, the housing market is on its way back. No need to lecture us, really. After all, it took a "lib" president to make it happen.

Kinda left the conservatives in the dust scratching their heads, huh?.

So sad you have so little intelligence you think otherwise. Those of us on the left also happen to care about people who aren't as fortunate. I know that seems silly to you but - hey - that's okay with me. I'd actually hate to be you!

Yes - there is no HOPE or change. Business as usual. Elitist presidents who lie, sell us out and use our tax money to entertain themselves. More war. More police state. More of the same. Bush, Clinton, Reagan, Obama - same person - different suit.

Funny that you alternated between Republican and Democratic President each name you mentioned. Dare I say you ACTUALLY hate America?

Good, then I've got a $50 first class ticket to Iran here for ya. Free of charge. Go ahead and take it, and head out as soon as you can. Oh, and do watch out for the *KABOOM*..... bomb on the plane.

I hate to make light of 9/11 like that, but then you go and make light of America herself. I'd rather pick the lesser of the two evils, even if both are unspeakable ones (and yes, I know 9/11 is THAT bad, but blaspheming our beloved nation is just as much so).

And the world is also much different that 40 years ago...both political parties and US corporations have failed to change for the better as the world has changed. Working ONLY for the bottom dollar just destroys your local economy (referencing the story yesterday on the poaching of retailers) and doesn't help the workforce of the US as we send all of our production overseas just to make more profit for the shareholders (who have done nothing productive to earn that dividend).

BTW, too many of the comments on this story are getting totally off subject, including this thread I'm commenting on. The story is on the Blues/Black History Month celebration...an annual White House event ever since the nation started to celebrate Black History Month.

When is this Jerk President going to start showing us he practices "shared sacrifice"? Every time we turn around the Messiah and Michelle Antoinette and the brood are throwing parties, going out to eat at expensive restaurants and going to private schools for education? This President is clueless. While he blames EVERYONE else for the problems he has made worse, he parties, golfs, plays basketball, and goes on vacation! And to make matters worse, his witch wife, Wookie, can't even go to a vacation on the same plane with her man. It is time to show this bunch of uppity snobs the front door and to send them back to the land of thugs and crooks where they belong.

Do you have any "proof" this guy has terrorist friends? Or do you just regard all of the Middle East as sinners who need to be purged, just like the West did during the Middle Ages with their "Crusade" (which need I remind you most of them are actually in Hell right now, singin' and screamin' to Lucifer's brand of crap music).

Actually he's referring to Weather Underground activist Bill Ayers. McCain & Palin's attempt to untruthfully connect Obama with a domestic terrorist. "Palling around" was the grossly repeated phrase. You know, the same rhetoric that got McCain & Palin nowhere in 2008 because it was baseless and deflected any questions aimed at getting what they had to offer U.S. citizens out of them? It had nothing to do with the Nation of Islam or the Middle East, BTW.

When the president has a function at the white house it is up to him to pay for it, not YOU or ME. Do not bring up Air Force One, George flew free too, they ALL do. Look it up, I am pretty sure you can read since you can criticize the writing of others. As far as the name calling above, that is just disrespectful. IF you are married and some oaf called your wife a name or said things about your kids, would you take it? You would probably get out your gun and shoot first and never ask a question.

I cant find a single soul in my office that supports this man or his policies. Those of us that own businesses, those of us who are home owners, those of us who invest and understand how things work in the world, cant wait to vote this fool out. Can this country be so full of losers that need a guy like Obama to prop them up? You libs truly disgust me. But, like I said before, just wait till November.

                                                            I know this.

This time I intend to vote for Obama.

Ron Paul believes that if you are sexually harassed at work it is your fault if you didn't quit your job - Never mind how much of your life you might have put into it.

Ron Paul believes that if you don't put out at work the employer has the right to fire you.

Ron Paul thinks the Anti-trust legislation designed to control monopolies interferes with a free market - as if a free market worked when Monopolies ruled.

Ron Paul would kill this Nation - You should read what he Wrote:

But, like I said before, just wait till November.

If Rick Santorum is the Republican nominee, I CAN'T WAIT for November. The election will be like Nixon - McGovern all over again, only Obama will win the 49 states and Santorum will win 1 (and it won't be PA).

Every Democrat out there is rooting for Rick Santorum. I know I am. No one person can help seal "four more years" than Rick Santorum. He will have the same appeal to U.S. voters as Christine O'Donnell had to Delaware voters, despite the fact that he isn't a witch (warlock) either.

                                                            So Larry,

Being the "businessman" you are, I would think you'd be happy that you don't have to pay payroll taxes at least for the next year right? Or that President Obama wants to give your "business" a tax break for hiring American workers right? Or as you claimed before to being an "investor" you'd be ecstatic that the market broke 13K yesterday (which after all was at 6K a few months into his precidency). I'm also sure that you'd be thrilled about his encouragement to banks to lend more money to small businesses so that they can expand?

Just a few things I would think a "job creator", "investor", "entrepeneur" like you would be happy about.

                                                            Jim,

Where do you get that I don't have to pay payroll taxes? As a self employed businessman, I pay 15.3% (13.2% with the payroll tax holiday)

I have no employees nor do I want any. I have a tax and accounting company; I have an insurance company; and I operate an internet marketing and distribution company that has global sales. I have been working from my home for the past 12 years full time and part time for almost 20 years.

I don't borrow from anyone and am debt free.

                                                              nuclearG,

You have brought up the NDAA several times, so I feel the need to respond to that:

                                                              1) I, too, am disappointed that the president signed the bill. Even though a veto would have been more of a gesture than anything else. The senate passed it with 86 votes, while the house passed it with a 283 to 136 margin. Therefore his veto would have been easily overriden.

                                                              2) In the house 190 R's voted for the bill, with 43 against. In the senate, only 3 of the no's were R's.

                                                              3) You do realize that NDAA was the defense appropriations bill right? And you do know that appropriations start in congress, not with the president right?

                                                              4) President Obama included a signing statement opposing the detainment clause. I believe he caved in because of the multibillion cut in military spending. I do wish he had stood his ground and vetoed it. Instead he swallowed the poison pill put in the bill by his opposition.

I'm simply a regular American who is fed up with this incompetent man currently holding the office of President. I do not doubt he is good "at many things;" the problem is, those things aren't good for this country. You and I want the same thing for this country: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We're not going to find that under Barry Obama, no matter how much you wish and hope and lie and make excuses for him. In this case, the Republicans - any one of them - are the lesser of two evils. "'Nuff said" indeed.

Curt every thing you say you aren't you are. The incompentents this year are running for the GOP. There is nothing regular about a man who spouts nothing but lies against a president who is Lincolns caliber. You have it wrong, I do not want to live in a country where I do not have the right to disagree, where I must be the GOP's brand of Christain.

This column has a disporportionate amount of lying hating GOP trolls. Is the fact that the GOP going to go down in flames in November making their supporters that desperate?

Probably because all of you sound like a good party is wearing sheets with hoods and burning a cross in the yard of an innocent. The absolute lack of civility amongst the GOP bias is amazingly similar to those who followed the little Corporal from Bohemia in death, strangulation and shame. Relative to the vacations and golfing of the POTUS, the last fella who resided there spent clost to 40% of his time on vacation, usually clearing brush, acting like a regular guy lounging about on his palatial estate in Crawford. The elder Bush, well he was up in Maine, lying on the beach, having a good sail on the ocean and eating large and tasty lobsters. Why didn't you numb skulls get all frothy about that era? The President has brought to the table plans, some good, some not so good and some a little on the rough side. But, at least he brought plans which proves he cares and has ideas to foster, while the GOPers bring racism into the fray, question a mans Christianity (who in the hell has the qualities needed to judge a man's religious beliefs or practices), make blatantly loud yet unproven statements about the security of the country and the direction in which it is going. Leave it to clueless and non-agenda presenting GOPers and the top would continue to receive the creme, while the lower 90% was left scrambling to their own devices minus a government that truly represents their best interests. In other words this administration has worked very hard to bring to the citizens a measure of success, while the GOPers have only stood like a large boulder in the middle of the road.
