Work continues on One World Trade Center as the building reached 100 stories and approached the height of the Empire State Building.

One World Trade Center is well on its way to a planned 1,776 feet tall, reaching 100 stories this week. We were given the opportunity to spend some time on the site and Rock Center interviewed several construction workers who work there everyday. While many of us feel a sense of pride watching the massive structure grow on a daily basis, these workers are changing the skyline of New York and honoring those lost with every piece of steel.

Six years since construction began on 1 World Trade Center, the tower will soon surpass the height of the Empire State Building's roof. The iron workers placing and setting each beam in the shadow of the 9/11 attacks say they are building out of a "sense of necessity" and know that the tower, now soaring nearly 1300 feet, will help the nation and the iron workers themselves heal. Many of the workers building the tower helped clean the smoldering debris in the days after the terrorist attack. Harry Smith reports.

I just never felt that we as a nation could fully heal until the Towers were rebuilt. The sadneess and fear has been overcome by proud New Yorkers.

I wish every one of them well.

Doubt that NYC meant this to be the tallest, I think the name says it all "One World", no longer the WTC. We are almost a One world government, everything is changing, including our monetary system. God is real.

The name is due to it being building 1 of the World Trade Center site.

      Flying Spaghetti Monster is real.

@joe dirt, your name says it all. THAT 3rd world you think its third world, your poor ass can't even afford to go there. Dubai is way passed America. America is the 3rd world country now weather you like it or not. Our economy already fell, yet the politicians and media wont admit it, Because America and JEWS don't want the world to know and fall from "world power" status. TAKE your 3rd world mentality and actually GO BACK TO SCHOOL. I bet you can't even point out where Asia or Middle East is.

Even our soldiers who are coming back from war, they are saying, bring the soldiers home and stop the bs. That was recently on Chicago news.

What a marvelous view actually day or night. Come to think of it, it gives the average person who goes to the top a brief reprieve from the normal everyday garbage floating around in the media and violence on the streets in society. Nothing like a breath of fresh air to clear the lungs or head and get a fresh perspective on life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Now if only one could keep that once their feet touch the ground and other humans show up. Especially those in politics, social gathering, employment or driving. On second thought, maybe a person might never want to come down. It’s a deadly, messed up crazy world. A pretty lit up fancy building sure looks nice to stay in. I hear Pizza Hut delivers.

Hopefully, the building is EPA compliant for Asbestos or it will end up being demolished as the previous 2 that were standing there along with building 7.

Yesterday I made my first visit to Ground Zero since 2002, it was beautiful and the memorial brought tears to our eyes. It was interesting seeing it for the first time with friends from the UK they were just as moved by the experience.

... SpiderGuy ... to the East we have the United Socialist States Republic (formerly USA) and to the South we find the mansion of its first leader (he's golfing now) and his royal family (they're on yet another vacation paid for by us taxpayers ... can't tell you where cuz of security).
