English Bulldog puppies play around their mother at the Toledo Area Humane Society in Maumee, Ohio on April 11, 2012.

Reuters reports — An Ohio man has been charged with animal abandonment after a litter of six English bulldog puppies was found in a suitcase with a tag bearing his name, according to Humane Society authorities.

The puppies, three male and three female, are estimated to be four weeks old, too young to be separated from their mother, so they will spend at least another four weeks in foster care before they are eligible for adoption.

The mother of the puppies was found pacing around the suitcase, which attracted the attention of a passerby.

If you're going to do something illegal and cruel, it seems very stupid to effectively sign your name to it. This is kind of puzzling. Still, I'm glad the mother and pups seem to be safe.

Maybe we could find a suitcase for Mr. howard Davis and place it near his home...I'll bet you his mother won't come looking for him.

Amen rock n roller - the punishment should fit the crime. Whatever you think up to do to another living being - is exactly what you will experience.

I think that would put a big dent in crime.

I guess he was also abandoning the mother. Good mama and her instincts wasn't about to abandon her babies. Hopefully she and her pups will find wonderful homes. What a bunch of cuties.

Amen to Rock N Roller and gigi64. All serial killers start out by abusing animals. ALL OF THEM. Anyone who can torture an innocent is not fit to live in this world, period. I hope they don't give the mother back to this monster! On a lighter note, one of little ones looks like he is wearing a tiny black Yarmulke or Kippah hat. I'd say this is a Passover miracle! After all, God saved the babes from death and these little ones deserved saving. (I'm not Jewish, so forgive me if I've misspelled or said something offensive).

Poor mama dog, you can see her spine...she wasn't being well cared for before being abandoned...

I'm so glad someone stopped to help. Those pups are adorable and look so happy to be with their mom. I hope everyone in the family finds a great home.
