President Barack Obama took a moment from fundraising in Michigan on Wednesday to visit the Henry Ford Museum and sit in the Montgomery, Ala. city bus made famous by Rosa Parks.
Obama said he took the time to sit in the bus to "ponder the courage and tenacity that is part of our very recent history."
The image was shot yesterday, but was made available to msnbc.com today.

Isn't this just the most wonderful, heart warming and beautiful story you've ever read. Please, a tissue to wipe my tears. With the insight and perspective he received, the next four years should be just as productive as the last 4. For example, biggest losses in real estate history, highest unemployment in history. Most government waste in history. etc...etc... I think we should change our constitution and make Obama our king.
I wish i was hired to eliminate people who post derogatory demeaning comments about our US president. this hatred.. fkng morons.. have for our president.. should not be happening. There is a great deal of hatred on MSNBC forums (im fairly new to them) towards all different types of people and backgrounds. Anyone involved in this has fallen into the trap, being distracted and influenced by the hatred on here will get you no where. IF someone posted something like that on here..they wanted you to read it, they wanted someone to know how angry they are and they want someone to argue with about it because they can say whatever they want, through Al Gores internet.

Actually, the POTUS, should be a non-discriminatory, all people unifier - so far obama has been none of what he should be. He does NOT represent all the people of America, he shows his real self in all his pandering actions. Obama the Great Divider. Wasn't he supposed to be the Great Uniter according to his statements in the '08 campaign? What happened?
First, there are 20% more blacks unemployed now than when he took office - he has not improved things for them.
Second, causal to number one, he won't stand a be a leader and tell all Americans that cases like Trayvon call for calm and reasoned discourse and not racial hate as we have seen from the likes of Sharpton, Jackson, the Black Panthers et al.
He should be a leader for all Americans in moments like that and recognize loud and clear that, as Bill Cosby said, the shooting was about the gun and not race. And that the legal system will ultimately sort this out.
But Obama did not because he cannot. He has more to gain at the polls with black racial hatred than if they have none to less towards whites. What a charlatan this president has become.

i just read my post and let me just say before someone takes that the wrong way...I was not trying to accuse anyone of being racist. Its just since I started reading these forums, I have noticed a great number of just some of the worst things you could say about a person, being directed towards any black person whithin a given news story. I know that people have their opinions about things and its your right, thats why we are here..but I dont know, I just wasnt raised to talk about people like that be that white or black.

I understand your feelings, I have a very close 30 year friend. His family and mine have shared our lives and our children continue the friendship. He never told me he and his family were BLACK.....and I never told him my family was white. Get the picture?

The racists are out in droves this morning. I am surprised not one of them has remarked that he is sitting in the wrong part of the bus....disgusting. No other president has had to endure what President Obama has. Now before the 'you all hated President Bush' crowd gets started, ask yourselves this: Was the patriotism of President Bush ever questioned? Did anyone question his birth certificate? Did anyone question his religious beliefs? Was every photo op questioned? Whether or not President Obama serves another term should be decided on his policy decisions and not his race. But, unfortunately that won't be the case because the t-baggers and some republicans can't see past color. They still want him in the back of the bus.
I remember pictures of Predident Bush being burned and pictures of him looking like Hitler and bloggers saying he was destroying this Country. Bush handed Obama a Country with a triple A, that's AAA rating and Obams's policies and lack of leadership had our country degraded!...Bush handed Obama an unemployment rate of 7.7% and Obama got it up to 9% and in the black community the unemployment is around 19%. The reason why his patriotism has been questioned is because he sat in a hate whitey church listening to the likes of wright for 20 years yelling "It's not God Bless America, it's God Dam America"! And because Michelle said. " For the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country" and the kicker is his first overseas tour he went around apologizing for our Great country who has spilt the blood of OUR fathers NOT HIS for liberating countries who were being held by tyrants. Also I must mention that a child learns patriotism and forms very solid opinions in the first part of his life that are engrained in ones mind and soul. Where did Obama grow up? Yes, in Indonesia, around Muslums, the very people who hate the US and hate Americans as did his mother and father. He NEVER had the same experience as most Americans learning to LOVE the flag and respect the constitution, learning about our forfathers. Nor did he have a father, like most of us in the baby boom era, who fought in WW2 and heard the amazing stories of the greatest generation first hand. When I think of my father, I remember the stories of him being on a destroyer , the USS Bell 1945 in the South Pacific. He could not talk about his love for this country without a tear in his eye and pride on his face. He was a 17 year old kid who volunteered for the Navy and dropped out of school like so many others. He was a gunners mate and volunteered to go on a rescue mission after a kamakazi attack and saved many people. Now my son's are serving this great nation, one is in the Infantry and did a 15 month tour in Iraq and another 12 months in Afghanistan and my other son in in the USMC reserves. It's a family tradition to serve our Country and to be proud of our Country. This President has the unfortunate childhood of being raised in a foreign country by parenst who hated America and around folkjs who also hate America and Americans. Then he meets a woman who also by her own words was NOT a proud American and goes to a church for 20 years where they preach hatred of America.....so JL Maine...you do the math....

As the first black (used loosely) President he had the great opportunity to unite this country in a way never before thought possible. Instead he has chosen to set race relations back 60 years in order to advance his socialist agenda. A race war is now a distinct possibility-which will destroy this country. But in retrospect what country in the world run by blacks is politically,socially or economically stable. God help us.

It is such a wonderful thing that our Country has put the past hateful prejudices behind us in the most part and elected a white -African man into the Presidency. This alone is a testament that America and white Americans want to move on and not relive the past as some Blacks do such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. It is just to bad that our first white-African President has been such a disaster for our economy. He does not understand how the economy works. Those that work hard and smart make make lots and lots of money while those who are lazy and want to wast their time doing drugs drinking and partying are going to end up on the other side of the tracks. Why should those that work hard and smart give up their earnings to those who just want a hand out.
Now there are those who yes, need our help and that is how it should be, we should help our elderly, our disabled and our Vets for sure. But this President thinks that those who have worked hard and smart are villians to be taken down and that is just NOT how to make this economy start working again. So unless you want a sluggish economy, more houses going underwater, more job loss, and a loss of our relgious freedoms then go ahead and vote for this disaster of a president I can totally understand why the blacks vote for him, I can not understand why anyone else would.

Though it is a very nice museum, and well worth a visit.

Obama reminds me of the Steve Martin movie "The Jerk"...."I was born a poor black child..." Once more and finally, I want everyone to understand this - Rosa Parks was not the first African American female to take on the police when harassed. But for politics she got the attention since she was connected to a group that asked her to do that thing. So - some do this to actually save their lives in sincerity and others that are given notoriety do it for media attention. Ms. Parks sought the attention and got it.
