Slightly fewer Americans filed for unemployment benefits in the latest week, but a more accurate gauge of labor market trends -- the four-week moving average -- deteriorated, raising further worries about the recovery.
The Labor Department reported that seasonally adjusted jobless claims slipped by 1,000 to 388,000 in the week ended April 21. The four-week moving average, however, rose by 6,250 to 381,750.
Both claims' gauges remain below 400,000, at least for now, but have been edging closer to a number that economists believe is a crucial signpost for the health of the job market.

This breaks my heart. The age discrimination in this country is out of control. He11 the discrimination is rampant right now based on age, gender, and the rest. I would MUCH rather hire someone who has a proven history and experience than some kid fresh out of school. My company is in the process of ridding themselves of people like this man. Something about health insurance... yeah. Its horrible.
Now that's what I call Hope and Change!......go ahead liberal douchenozzles, vote for him again!
That was better than what I was going to post ....
I've got a little problem with this buy and his sign. The Viet Nam era officially ended on May 7th 1975. If he is 54 he was just barely 17 in 1975. I think he may be streching the truth just a tad. I'd love to see his service dates. My guess is he is not a Viet Nam vet.
He said Viet Nam ERA Vet.
