Landless people hurl stones towards riot police during a clash in Katmandu, Nepal, on May 8, 2012.

Riot police in Kathmandu arrested more than 20 protesters on Tuesday during clashes sparked by an attempt to evict landless squatters from their homes. Dozens were injured.

The demolition drive follows a Nepali government decision to force the squatters out from an area beside the Thapathali hospital and move them to an alternative settlement along with the introduction of a property ownership document, according to local media reports.

Greed is Greed, no matter what form of government you have.

Question? As the population rises, where are all these people going to live?

Communists thrive in a contry with corruption, war, or both. Communists are perfect cover for themselves and their families to control the rest of 95% population.

These "communists" are disgrace to thier people and country. You will get yourself burn to do business with Communist officials.

Not enough info, looks like they are relocating the squatters to property that they will have ownership over?

India has a population explosion dilemma as well as China parts of the Middle East Africa Asia and South America. How long can the west continue to have their borders invaded by those trying to get out of the problem they created? The west voluntarily reduced birth rate growth but it would seem that some groups of people think that irresponsible birth rate growth is their right and everyone else should pay for it. Extreme poverty is preventable and I don't believe there should be a huge discrepancy in standard of living but when birth control is available it should be used and all governments leaderships should have it available and encourage its use. If people refuse to use birth control regardless of their reasoning then they should expect to face the consequences of their actions and not expect others to foot the bill for their irresponsible behavior.

Where is the settlement for those being evicted?

Nepali government should need to re-think that they are supposed to take care of the needy not the able ones and they are supposed to be the advocate of the needy, such as this group, not the able ones, e.g. the rich.

Nepali government should get the land for those who cannot afford the simple housing quarter like other human dos. The sleeping quarter is one of the basic needs to claim they are human beings and this is the planet earth for them, not just the able ones, e.g. the rich, but them as the needy.

Nepali government should rethink where the land they have assigned to the needy, such as this group, and they should not assign them far far away from their work/school/cheap market for this group cannot afford the transportation.

And what are the reason the Nepali government would do such kind of things to them?

The Nepali government should re-think the area very close to that area so this group of needy will not lose their basic needs for they do not have that much choice.

The Nepali government let their needy know that they do have the right to own the piece of the land on this planet earth.
