Debris spotted in search for Russian jet missing in Indonesia

msnbc.com staff and news services reports: A helicopter searching for a missing Russian-made airliner south of Indonesia has spotted debris, a senior rescue official said early Thursday.

An airport spokesman said the wreckage was found on the edge of a cliff in a mountainous area at 5,500 feet. There was no word about the fate of those on board.
