National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency via AP
A set of images released by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency show a scale model of the compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, where Osama bin Laden was killed, The Associated Press reports.
The model was built by the agency and used by military and intelligence leaders to plan the raid. The once-classified model is scaled at 1 inch to 7 feet and each object in the model existed at one time at the original compound.

This is amazing, the grounds and the area itself reminds one of a maze of sorts the way how everything was constructed. Bin Laden lived inside of a prison as well as his family.

Bin Laden has been dead since late 2001 early 2002. Our own Government is on record 9 different times stating this fact. Two months before September 11 Osama bin Laden flew to Dubai for 10 days for treatment of Acute (sudden) Kidney Failure/ Renal Failure at the American hospital, where he was visited by the local CIA Handler. The disclosures are known to come from French intelligence which is keen to reveal the ambiguous role of the CIA, and to restrain Washington from extending the war to Iraq and elsewhere. The CIA chief was seen on his way to see Bin Laden, and later, it is alleged, boasted to friends about his contact. He was recalled to Washington soon afterwards. Intelligence sources say that another CIA agent was also present; and that Bin Laden was also visited by Prince Turki al Faisal, then head of Saudi intelligence, who had long had links with the Taliban, and Bin Laden. Bin Laden has often been reported to be in poor health. Some accounts claim that he is suffering from Hepatitis C, and Renal Disease requiring dialysis can expect to live for only two more years. This was a report from the Washington Times
In addition to these sources, a deluge of other heads of state as well as intelligence agency professionals have gone on record over the past nine years to state their belief that Bin Laden was likely dead, after it became clear that the Al-Qaeda leader's health was in severe decline as a result of kidney disease at the end of 2001. These include;
- Former CIA officer and hugely respected intelligence & foreign policy expert Robert Baer, who in 2008 when asked about Bin Laden by a radio host responded, "Of course he is dead."
- On December 26, 2001, Fox News, citing a Pakistan Observer story, reported that the Afghan Taliban had pronounced Bin Laden dead and buried him in an unmarked grave.
- On January 18, 2002, Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf announced: "I think now, frankly, he is dead."
- On July 17, 2002, the then-head of counterterrorism at the FBI, Dale Watson, told a conference of law enforcement officials that "I personally think he [Bin Laden] is probably not with us anymore."
- In October 2002, Afghan President Hamid Karzai told CNN that "I would come to believe that [Bin Laden] probably is dead.
- In 2003, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright told Fox News Channel analyst Morton Kondracke she suspected Bush knew the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden and was waiting for the most politically expedient moment to announce his capture.
- In February 2007, Professor Bruce Lawrence, head of Duke University's Religious Studies program, stated that the purported video and audio tapes that were being released of Bin Laden were fake and that he was probably dead.
- In March 2009, former US foreign intelligence officer and professor of international relations at Boston University Angelo Codevilla stated: "All the evidence suggests Elvis Presley is more alive today than Osama Bin Laden."
- In May 2009, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari confirmed that his "counterparts in the American intelligence agencies" hadn't heard anything from Bin Laden in seven years and confirmed "I don't think he's alive."
In a way, the establishment had their hand forced in having to announce the death of someone whose shadowy existence had proven very useful to them in maintaining fear and uncertainty amongst the population of America and the world.
The fact that the myth behind Al-Qaeda has been completely demolished and that the group, through a myriad of revelations, including Anwar Al-Alawki's post-9/11 visit to the Pentagon, is now widely known to be a US intelligence front, perhaps now means that Al-Qaeda will be swept under the rug and a new enemy will be invented in order to legitimize the continued US military-Industrial Complex domination of the globe.

The above is from US criminal law, however, and khalid sheikh mohammed is being tried by a military tribunal where even evidence gathered by torture is admissable.
That is really it, none of the so-called evidence that took us to war will be presented because it does not exist. The government has to rely on evidence gathered AFTER we invaded, evidence obtained by torture. Bin Laden will not be there to testify because the government silenced him forever (assuming it was Bin Laden that they shot on sight and then dumped in the ocean!).
I have problems with torture being evidence, but your discussion of killing Bin Laden as evidence tampering is ludicrous. There is plenty of evidence against Khalid Sheikh Mohammed including broadcasts statements that he made BEFORE he was captured.

Did you read the story? The model was used in planning the attack. It was one of those things that allowed our SEALs to understand what they were going to have to do and get out alive. Are you so filled with your ideological hate that it trumps getting a mass killer of Americans and risking the lives of the SEALs who took on this dangerous and important mission?

Since your reading comprehension is lacking, let's make it simple- the model looked just like the real house, so the SEAL's were able to study it and know what the real house was going to look like. Get it?
He was real. Bush didn't kill him because he was the boggy man. Bush/ Cheney used OBL to keep us scared. Bush could have killed him in Tora Bora but they wanted to go into Iraq. If they would have killed OBL in Tora Bora, the war might have ended there. We couldn't have that now could we have?
Clinton passed up a chance to get Bin Ladin in Sudan in about 1998, when the Intelligence community said they had him if Clinton wanted him. He did not go for political reasons.
Clinton also said Hussein had weapons of mass destruction and would certainly use them. He warned of that repeatedly. Did he also "want to go into Iraq?"
The international community claimed the same, based on their own intelligence. There was, to borrow a word the Left loves, "consensus" in the world community, including the UN, that Hussein was in violation of multiple UN resolutions. People love to blame Bush, but European leaders were also convinced Hussein was a direct threat, again, based on their own intelligence.
All that, however, is beside the point. I just wonder why this Administration is so anxious to divulge military planning and operational techniques.

The "Mission Accomplished" banner on the aircraft carrier was NOT for the "completion of the ship's mission," it was for the end of "major battle operations," and, by implication that we had "won" the war. Bush milked the whole thing for political gain. Talk about a waste of money, not to mention that the entire Iraq war was based on a lie and was started to get revenge on Hussein for threatening Bush's father, and to make sure defense contractor cronies like Haliburton would get a huge pile of money for their inadequate "services."

And for that purpose I wouldn't care if they built the damn thing full scale if it meant saving their live's.

Bin Laden has been dead over a year now and we are still spending money on replicas of buildings that depict his compound. This is why defense is costing so much money because these guys need to sit around stroking their ego and convincing us that this is money well spent. As much as you hate to admit it, Obama is tied to this story. That link launches a slideshow with images from one of the most important events of the last decade. Obama was key to that. We went from a do-nothing republican failure (worst president EVER) to a Democrat president that made a promise to go into Pakistan if they were hiding Bin Laden. And he made good on that promise.
Under Obama's direction, Osama Bin Laden has been killed. It just eats at the Republicans that they only have a premature sign entitled, "Mission Accomplished" that proved to be no mission accomplished at all, just 5,000 dead American GI's after the sign most posted on the ship. Its foam-core, balsa wood and model railroading decorations. I could build this damn thing with one trip to Hobby Lobby. It's not laser etched from rare ice harvested from the moon Europa, brought back on secret NASA satellite missions. The model didn't forge Obama's birth certificate....nor did it kill JFK.
It's a simple model built to spec to provide the service men who went in there a clear idea of where to go and what to do so they were not hindered by the layout of the compound. That's it.
If even one of those seal guys lives isn't worth the time and petty cash it took to build this model then the problem is YOU.

For a President that rumbled about charging Bush with war crimes; the execution of Bin Laden makes me wonder what the hell really was going on. Why wouldn't we take an un-armed man into custody and try him in court? I remember Obama saying the call was Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. This article makes it seems that he diligently planned the entire thing between golf games and trips to NYC. I would have loved to known the real truth.

From what I understand, this was not a "kill mission" and they only killed him because he resisted or fought back. I have my doubts about the whole story but for now, one way or the other, he is gone.
Bush should have been charged with war crimes and detained, sent to the Hague for trial. It is our obligation under UN treaties we signed.
