Russian President Vladimir Putin is on his first Middle East tour in seven years, which began with a trip to Jerusalem. Putin met with Israeli President Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday where the main topics were the crisis in Syria and Iran's nuclear plans. Sanctions on Iran should be increased, Netanyahu said, and demands enhanced regarding its nuclear program. Netanyahu told a news conference in Jerusalem that Israel and Russia agreed that Iranian nuclear proliferation posed a threat to Israel and the world. Russia hosted the latest talks with Iran earlier this month which failed to produce any commitments. Putin’s visit was scheduled to coincide with the inauguration of the national monument honoring Soviet Red Army soldiers killed in World War II.
On Tuesday, Putin met with Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas in Bethlehem and visited the Church of the Nativity. Putin's meeting with Abbas was expected to focus on the deadlock over restarting Israeli-Palestinian negotiations that has been on hold for almost four years. Putin will travel next to Jordan, where he will meet King Abdullah.

Strange to see a dictator leave home and not worry about a revolution at home. Putin really is the man....but then again, he is probably the only dictator that could kick the asses of every other world leader....Respect!
In the last photo (Putin with Abbas), once again we see children being used as political pawns by the Palestinians. Its a shame that Muslim terrorists (even those on sabbatical like Abbas) use children in such a manner. Palestinian terrorists hide behind their children and use them as military cover when the Israelis retaliate against the terrorists for their murderous and heinous acts of criminal terror. We saw this again last week when Hamas-supported terrorists approached the Israeli-Egyptian border and murdered an Israeli worker. The victim was, ironically, working on a fence that will keep terrorists out. When the Israelis retaliated, the Palestinians cried about some trumped up stories that the Israelis had killed some Arab children. Whether its for political purposes or just blatant acts of terror, the Palestinians exploit their children.....and the rest of the extreme Muslim world accepts it. What a bunch of morons.
.
he talks to the talk but does not walk the walk its his country that started the nuke stuff in iran by building the first reactor and then supplying them further he ought to tell his butt buddy im a dinner jacket your on your own pal the world does not like you
brosol You are an ignorant, the nuclear plant was built under UN and IEA standards, the fuel used by this plants has a low enriched uranium component, useless to build nuclear weapons.
Putin on the Ritz!
...and even hardliner Israel understands that there is another world power that they need to work things out with.
romilio i dont know you and you dont know me ignorant is not the way to describe your feelings about another poster on this site
Vladimir Putin has something in common with Barak Obama. Just another politician who loves wasting taxpayer money on useless and non productive photo op junkets!
Dear Ed-NavDoc,
You did not disappoint!
I knew there would be some jckass with nothing important to contribute and who somehow find a way to bring up President Obama. I do not believe he has anything to do with this News Article.
Your sarcasm in noted. Feel better? Now try using your brain to do something useful around the house.
Russia is important player in the Middle East problem.
Russia's established presence in The Middle East through Syrian port may bring Russia closer to world community and Putin's visit to Middle East may prove useful to solve the dragging unconventional war in this region.
I hope?
Vladimir the Putin is obviously repelled by children dressed like Mary and Joseph and he does his best to escape! I don't see any shoes flying past his head, what the hell are the Palestinians all home with the flu today?
There are two pictures of Putin visiting the Church of the Holy Sepulchre on June 26. In the first picture he is not wearing a tie. In the second picture he is wearing a tie. Did I miss something?
I believe the Russians need to get busy helping to police the world and keeping things peaceful or they will be left behind
Jake, sounds like you have some anger issues. You need to accept the fact and get used to the idea that not everybody is the big fan of Barak Obama that you seem to be. I'm not going to stoop to your infantile level of insults and name calling. Oh, and by the way, come to think of it I do feel better now! Have a nice day.
Putin Is trying to save face he already gave up on Syria and made a deal with the west to let go of President Bashar Assad as long as they can keep the Russian bases.
It’s an all-around win for the West NATO they can get Assad out of power keep good relations with Russia. This is the same way it will play out with Iran in the end. If you look at the history on the way Iraq, Libya were handled it does sound like the west's playbook is going just as planned.
This will also help the west by showing how Putin deals with his Allies noticed I did not say Russia I have the utmost respect for the Russian people. Putin looks like a character from the Muppets and acts like a man with very low self-esteem perhaps a fragmented personality. He is no danger to anyone but himself when the Russian people get tired of him he will have to find a spider hole to hide in.
SO President Bashar Assad you need a game plan get a shovel dig hole and drop in just like in Iraq PUTIN will not save you.
If the USA foreign policy idiots would stop deliberately messing with Russia, we would have the best ally possible in the modern world. As for Putin being a dictator, oh jee, like, our democracy works? I would trade Putin for either one of the two liars corporate power has given us to choose from in November.
