Floodwaters engulf a river at Kumamoto city on Japan's southern island of Kyushu on July 12, 2012.

Arata Yamamoto of NBC News reports — An unprecedented 20 inches of rain descended on the town of Aso in southwestern Japan, inundating homes and rice paddies and killing at least 6 people. 20 people are still reportedly missing.

Images on local news reports showed cars being dragged into the raging rivers and houses destroyed by landslides. But by around noon time the rain had stopped, allowing for the clean up efforts to kick in.

The local fire department in Aso District said they had managed to rescue 8 people trapped in mudslides.

Floodwaters have turned part of western Japan into a disaster zone after nearly 2 feet of rain fell in just 8 hours. At least three people have been killed and an evacuation order has been given to 50,000 people. Karl Bostic of NBC News reports.

what's with all the flooding

Increasingly-extreme weather.

MSNBC has been posting articles on it for some time now. Here's one from just 2 days ago:

2011 Texas drought was 20 times more likely due to warming, study says

A warmer atmosphere holds more moisture, and ours has already heated up enough to hold 4% more water than it did in 1970. That water doesn't spread itself out evenly over the planet, it comes down in torrential rainfalls that affect some regions, and leave others high and dry.

Expect to see a lot more of this.

Hey Jo, before you go, Flower too; concerning Zimmie getting the address from the street, turning around to go back to his car -it's a rediculous easily discredited account. I've been holding back some stuff, especially about that, and I noticed the detectives did not let Zimmie in on it. They did not question him so I know they do not want it to get out. I wish I could tell it!!!! But Corey and the detectives know it will work best if Zimmie is surprised by the question.

Are you girls through for the night what with the slow connection over there?

Technology can help people to go to the space station and can help the rocket shoot to the destinated target. GPS or google maps can help us to see the map and the street view.
