Thousands of mourners thronged the streets of Mumbai under heavy monsoon rain to bid farewell and catch a final glimpse of Bollywood superstar Rajesh Khanna, who died on Wednesday at the age of 69.
Known for his shy smile and flamboyant looks, Khanna was often referred to as Bollywood's first real superstar, someone who had a fanatical fan base among women, thanks to the many romantic hits in which he starred during the 1970s.

The fire from suttee will be seen from outer space.
err um..is it just me, or do these Indian folk have the 'lightskinned/darkskinned complex' even worse than us?
damn thats like the american version of justin bieber..i dont get it...
I tell you what...some of the most beautiful women in the world do those bollywood films-natural and spectacularly stacked. The light skinned ones-just an observation
This guy was a chic magnet right? I only see dudes in the mass crowds ........ hmmm. Whats that all about?
Mr./Mrs Robert,
The ladies has seperate standing locations. you g...
Wow, women have separate standing locations? Really? I saw women and men in the first picture but all the other pictures looked like a "Men at Work" concert. India has come a long way baby, separating men from women while in public. That is cutting edge my friend. India has really got it going on here in the 21st century. India has nuclear weapons, right?
Wait a minute, I saw a woman in the "sea of dudes". She has a light green dress on and she is just right of center and 3/4's the way up in the picture. Her back is turned to the camera but you can see her "bun" of hair on her head. This girl here is a trend setter baby, everything is changing now.
The policeman with a stick interests me..Holding back all those people with a stick that someone could take from him and use on himself..Brave man,if you ask me!!
That means people respect the policeman, the stick or both.
Patriotic girl, you are so silly. This has nothing to do with respect, sheeeesh! Clearly the "stick" has soap on it and not one of those filthy buggers want to get touched. The guy with the stick has a "anti-soap proof" suit on for his own protection while beating others with ole "mister clean". CHA CHING!!!
...thems a bunch of 'ate up' people....need a reality check...
