An Israeli family cries during a military ceremony for victims killed in an attack in Bulgaria, at the Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv on July 20, 2012.
Burgas airport security cameras caught the alleged terrorist wandering around a terminal minutes before he boarded a bus filled with tourists and allegedly blew himself up. Police are now trying to identify who he was with the help of DNA analysis. NBC's Martin Fletcher reports.

It is heartbreaking to watch this footage.
Has anyone else here noticed the (fake) Michigan DL has a Baton Rouge address???

latekate - Your list is but a drop in the bucket, compared to the numbers of Palestinians and Lebanese women and children killed by the IDF. The Israelis strap themselves into F16s, take off, drop their bombs in heavily populated areas and fly home to their wives to celebrate their day. In 2006 alone, they killed over 1400 Palestinians and 1000 Lebanese.
That guy sure doesn't look like an Iranian. Will the Israelis attack America again, as they did on 9/11, to avenge the deaths?
Yeah, right, Ralph, and the Jews killed Jesus, as you have often told us. But at least you didn't make THAT one up, since it has been the heart of anti-semitism since the Dark Ages.
Ralph, it is well documented that the IDF drops leaflets before they drop bombs. The leaflets, written in multiple languages, instruct any civilian as to what is about to happen and how to avoid it. The problem when you're fighting a militant cell, instead of an army, is that cell will hide in civilian installations and launch offensive from civilian installations. That is the only reason fire is drawn to those areas.
I was in Israel of June 2006 as a tourist. I witnessed Jews and Arabs living and working peacefully side by side in many of the cities I visited. I would have a beer with one group, then go enjoy hookah with another. Two weeks after I returned to the US, the first rockets began launching from Lebanon. Rockets were being fired out of houses and out of hospitals, basically using those populated areas as "shields." You cannot cry for the aggressor in that situation.
But, it's quite clear you fully believe any conspiracy theory that's been puked out on the internet, so I hardly expect you to understand the flaws of your logic.
@chefaz,
Having a Michigan drivers license with a Baton Rouge address would support a cover story that the person was a student. It would also make it very difficult for IDF "security consultants" to be able to cross-check the ID since they would have to check with Michigan and Louisians and would not expect to find necessarily find a fingerprint match for a student.
Forgot to mention the DOB apppears to be 5-12-1947. If this is correct, no way is there a match with the photo or the video. Damn, that's an old student. He aged well, too.
So the circle of violence continues, and the cuts deepen eh. A new generation has more reasons to hate and to want to destroy, and the prospects of peace shift ever further apart. Sigh
Very sad to see this senseless killing of innocents.
Coming soon to a U.S. city near you
It already occurred in Colorado.
No matter what race or religion. True human beings can see the suffering and death of innocents as wrong and cruel. Don't use your agendas for hate, violent, and intolerance. The suffering of anyone needs to be a call for peace and harmony among the people of Earth. When we put aside the differences.. we all bleed red in the end.
I tend to agree DougLogan......and sooner than any of us think it might.
The suffering of the parents and families of the children is senseless. I wish the terrorists felt some humanity but they want it just one way. Why does this seem to be this way?
This is bad. Israel always retaliates, and they will strike at Iran. Holy crap this is bad.
This act of terriorism against innocent people may have been carried out by Hezbollah, which is a proxy of Iran and Syria.
We will have to just wait and see what happens once all of the facts as to who was responsible are firmly established.
Meanwhile, radical Muslim terriorists have once again caused innocent people and their families and friends throughout the civilized world to suffer!
We better wake up and face the reality if we don't want to repeat 1939 all over again!
Meanwhile, Iran doesn't seem to appreciate when their scientists are assassinated.
Yes, JD, so they kill innocent teens in response.
Mine wasn't presented as justification, but just as a matter of consequential fact.
Further, this chicken or egg, never-ending cycle of violence is far from being a black and white issue. Well, at least for those of us who aren't self-servingly biased it isn't. Again, just fact.
Opstokker please don't generalize or stereotype, I am Jewish and don't "look" it at all...
Yes, JD, you presented your statement as justification. You did so yesterday on other posts. And I may have missed the news articles and speeches from Israel, but I don't remember any proof or acknowledgement from them that they were the ones who killed those scientists.
I keep seeing the worn out expression "false flag" from people like you. At the time those scientists were killed, I was thinking "false flag" myself. Iran probably killed them because they weren't producing expected results and it was a perfect opportunity to get rid of them and blame the Jews.
Except, this article is the FIRST TIME I've posted anything regarding this incident. In fact, I can't recall the last time I've commented publically with regards to any issues involving Israel, Jews in general, or even Jackie Mason. Got it? So take your accusations, foolish assumptions, and nonsensical "false flag" hysterics and direct them elsewhere, but be sure to apologize before you do.
Newsflash: there are other folks that employ the "John,Doh/Doe" moniker, or some iteration thereof. Now do you get it?
JD, Scremi talked about accusations from "people like you"...she was not citing you personally.
Cassandra,
Read more carefully:
Care to try again? Third time's the charm...
Scremi was talking about that "false flag" jargon, from the ones she called "people like you."
You're struggling...mightily. And you're becoming quite the unwanted burden too.
Pay attention: the "justification" barb was attributed to, and directed at, ME. ME. ME. ME. And that's what I was first responding to in my retort. Understand? THEN, because I knew it didn't apply to me directly and I really didn't want to read it anyway, I quipped Scremi should take that "false flag" business somewhere else, knowing full well(because I can read) that it was a remark imputed to "people like me"...and not me explicitly.
...and you're outta there!
John,Doh
I do apologize if that was not you yesterday. I read so many pages of comments justifying blowing up the innocent teens and babies by bringing up the scientists and there was one who had an avatar quite similar to yours.
Again, I apologize.
However, the rest of my comment stands. There has never been any proof that Israel was behind those attacks, and I still believe Iran did it themselves to blame the Jews. I cannot see them allowing their precious scientists out and about in the general population on motorbikes instead of being safely secured inside armoured cars with guards....now, do you?
Cassandra, thank you for the backup.
So, you decry the Iranian claim that Israel was behind the attacks based on a "lack of proof", while fully believing it was Iran who killed their own scientists in order to then assign blame to Israel...and you base that on? Any proof? Or is proof unessential when it is something you choose to believe because it serves your agenda? I think you see my point.
Now, do I believe Israel had a hand(or gun) in those assassinations? Yes, yes I do. Do I believe it was the "wise " thing to do? That I really can't answer.
Here's what I can say: Israel, in conception, was an unsustainable proposition. Their neighbors are too inhospitable, too morally incompatible, simply too foreign. And there's too many of them. It was with great naivete and dangerous myopia that this mid-20th century geopolitical experiment went forward, thinking the technologically advanced weapons of the west would forever stave off the desert people's primitive...ways. Well, that pernicious miscalculation has now come to bear. See, the mid-east crisis isn't a problem of policy, it's one of biology. And one that is only rectified by a separation of habitats. A continental separation. More to the point, eastern Europe should've been the focal point for the formation of a Jewish state, not the outskirts Arabia.
JD, the Zionists WERE offered a homeland in Africa, but said that that WOULD have been plain imperialism.
Israel is going to be the big loser in recent events in the Middle East and more and more it looks like Iran is holding a better hand than Israel.
1) Israel is surrounded by larger neighbors with whom Israel has been nearly constantly at war. Israel has about 7.9 million people (about 1/4 are Arabs or ultra-Orthodox who do not serve in the military.) Egypt - 82 million, Iran - 77 million, Turkey - 75 million, Iraq - 33 million, Syria - 22 million, Jordan - 6.3 million, Lebanon - 4.3 million, and there are an estimated 5 million Palestinian refugees scattered around the region. From a strictly military perspective, Egypt, Iran, and Turkey could each individually destroy Israel by simply not conducting a war of "contact and maneuver" to one of attrition. Both Egypt and Israel realized after the last war that, just as Grant realized during the Civil War, that a war of attrition will always give the victory to the side that is substantially larger once a committment is made.
2) Israel depends on clean nuclear dominance in the region as its only "rational" defense. But people have to realize that nuclear weapons cannot be used by a country like Israel on the offense and in virtually all situations cannot use them in any tactical situation. The only way Israel could be expected to use nukes is if they were in immedeiate danger of ceasing to exist as a country and they would try to take out all Iranian and Arab capitals and major population centers. Not a pretty picture.
3) Lebanon was initially a stable country on Israel's border. But Syria destabilized it completely. While Lebanon has recovered somewhat since 1991, it is still unstable and the events in Syria has created power vacuums in Lebanon that will have to be filled somehow. Any force seeking to unify Lebanon would probably incite against Israel as part of its unification strategy.
4) Israel's constant drum-beating against Iran has embolden many of Israel's enemies. They know that any provocative action against Israelis will be blamed on Iran. And given Iran's participation in similar activities in the past, some may be justified. Iran does hate Israel, but the primary reason is still pretty obscure to most people. The Mossad trained the Shah's SAVAK --- a brutal and repressive secret police that tortured and killed tens upon tens of thousands of Iranians. Many SAVAK agents were drawn from the disaffected but large Jewish and Christian communities in Tehran. When the Shah was deposed, the new government executed most of SAVAK's leadership and administrators. But the vast majority of its agents survived and still operate in Iran under the control of Mossad, but under the thin guise of various anti-Iranian government groups, such as Kurds.
5) The Egyptians are in poilitical turmoil and the military may seek to re-exert itself as the true holders of power. If they do so, the uinifying act could well be the abbrogation of the Camp David Accords and directing hostilities against Israel. The Egyptian military believes that it can beat Israel pretty decisively if they simply make it a war of attrition. Anything short of actual hostilities with Israel would not give the military the necessary mandate it would need to rule again.
6) The Israeli economy is in a shambles with huge national debt and a huge deficit. US military and economic aid are the only things that keep Israel afloat. With all the right-wing voices shouting to cut off all foreign aid, Israel is vulnerable. Also the Camp David Accords require parity in air to both Egypt and Israel, so if we cut aid to Egypt, we must cut it to Israel.
So right now Israel is trying to focus as much attention on war with Iran as possible. Israel realizes that it lacks the ability to project force as far as Iran and would require US assistance to do any substantial damage at all in Iran. It also realizes that with conflicts on its northern and southern borders simultaneously would simply open the doors to all kinds of Iranian mischief. Israelis are not fond of Americans as it is (go read the oped pages of some of Israel's English-language newspapers online) and is very fearful that Obama would not back them immediately should they act unilaterally. They are also aware of how fragile the Israeli economy is and that the world is poised on the edge of new waves of recession. It all boils down to Israel's self-determined position that has placed it in direct opposition to as many as 400 million people. Not a smart thing to do if you only have 7.9 million and almost 2 million of them cannot be trusted to even be in the military.
I say that because it is my opinion... and because logic states the Iranians would not compromise their nuclear efforts by allowing their top scientists to putter about the streets on open motor scooters without protection. And because it's a toss in the face of those who keep insisting the Israelis are killing their own people as "false flags" on a pretext as an attempt to instigate war.
I do not engage in debate about Israel's viability to sustain its location. I only adamantly support its right to exist and defend.
And I sure as hell don't want to be on the other side.
Yes, I'm aware. And your point?
First, that laughable, altruistic "imperialism" claim is complete bunk, as ascriptions of Imperialism have never stopped any group from land-grabs before. Instead, it was a convenient out for what was an unappealing offer. Period.
Second, Africa is no better than Arabia in terms of sustainability. So why you think that matters to the discussion is bemusing.
Finally, did you not read my post? It's not a matter of who's offering what, but rather, where the focus of building a Jewish state should've been directed. And that's in Eastern Europe.
So "logic" dictates that Iran would not compromise their nuclear efforts by allowing their top scientists to putter about the streets in open motor scooters without protection, but it would allow them to just kill their scientists instead? Makes perfect sense. Not.
You're right about one thing, though: it's only your opinion.

That does it! America needs another war badly, and this is a perfect excuse for one! America should attack Iran immediately, and perhaps Russia and China, too, and add Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq... (Oh wait, we already attacked Iraq, scratch that!)... and umm, maybe India, or how about Canada while we're at it? Aw hell, let's just declare war on the whole damn world! Don't you think you're getting a little bit paranoid?
Please try doing a reality check!
I love how the photos of "poor suffering Israelis" are plastered all over news channels. It reminds me of the photos of real victims, the Palestinians which we rarely ever see in American news papers. But why don't we see the photos that show their sufferings, even when thousands of them are killed, their houses are demolished, their kids are brutalized. Payback time!!!
Gabe, are you kidding? We are constantly seeing pictures of Palestinians mourning a slain leader...although, to be fair, it could be that those pictures exist because Arabs tend to mourn more publically.
So do you love how the photos of "poor suffering Americans" at the Dark Night premier last night are plastered over the media? Do you love suffering and death in general? I have seen photos of suffering Palestinians right here on MSNBC, and I do not love that one bit.
However, when there is a new story to report, the media will plaster it everywhere. That brings in ratings, followed by advertisers. The news is big business too.
What a bunch of coward softies. They cry like children the minute something happens to them. But put them in uniform, give them Apache helicopters, M16s, cluster bombs and you'll see them being sooo tough on innocent, defenslesss people, but only then. These cowards jews would never fight one to one, they hide in sniper towers when they shoot civilians, they sit in fortified bulldosers when demolish houses full of people, carry out assassinations all over the world and the list goes on. At least I don't have to waste my tissue this time, no tears to wipe.
oh yeah? the happiest day of my life will be when all of you scumbags will be wiped out clean off the earth. and this day is coming!!
RE: Gabe0304- Wow, another Jew hater/Muslim-licker (Liberal). Shouldn't you be out working for Obama's reelection campaign or participating in a drum circle or something ?
See, another bunch of blind and brainwashed idiots. The minute you dare to criticise Israel, you become a "jew hater". Well, you idiots, do you think I just dreamed about the sniper towers and bulldosers and the murder and harassment and displacement of the people of occupied Palestinian territories? Never saw the pictures of fully armed IDF brutalizing innocent Palestinians? Never saw the pictures of Palestinians, women and children sitting on rubbles they used to call home? Go and Google: Israeli attrocities, and see it yourself. You'll see babies with massive bulletholes in their heads, bodies blown to pieces, kids maimed for life, tears, tears and more tears and destruction caused by the "peace loving" people of Israel. You call me a "jew hater", but should I love them for all that. I know that you, bunch of blind followers of Israel forgive enything and everything they do, but remember they hate your "goyim" ass just as much they hate the Palestinians.
gabe0304,
Seems like you're the one who's just full of hate and I really doubt that you actually care about the Palestinians as well!
You mean the Obama that appointed a former IDF soldier as his chief of staff? And the one with a Jewish, who his most trusted, senior advisor? That Obama?
"coward Jews"? Gabe? And here I thought you were just an anti-Zionist. But come to think of it, many anti-Zionists turn out to be plain old-fashioned Jew baiters after a few postings.
Israeli "cowards" = tiniest country in the area surrounded by enemies, still kicking butt every time they are attacked.
Muslim extremist "cowards" = launch offensives from civilian installations, target civilian tourists, hide behind civilian shields, fail to recognize a state's right to exists (or co-exist), and then cry to the media about Israeli "oppression"
hey dumb@ss gabe there is no such thing as palestine or palestinians. these people are refugees and are egyptian. they need to return to egypt and stop worshiping a false prophet/child molester. maybe then they will be able to get along with the rest of the civilized world but i really doubt it.
Gabe0304, the fact that you relish in other peoples suffering, shows who you really are. No doubt, Israel isn't perfect, nor are all their policies, but acts of terror have no place in this world. The real cowards are people like you, that can't even think of a better way forward because your already brainwashed....
Looks a bit like a state funeral to me. Make peace with the Palestinians and then you can go on vacation outside of the prison walls you built around your country.
Israel made peace with Egypt a long time ago (remember the Jimmy Carter admin.?) but it's no longer safe for them to "go on vacation" to Egypt, through no fault of the Israelis.
So what's the deal with that?
davefromorange said, "So what's the deal with that?"
Pay attention, Dave. For heck's sake. Don't post to demonstrate you do not give a lick what is happening beyond your shades. Jeeeesh!
Egypt was the strongest and most dangerous enemy of the zionist entity. They signed a peace treaty with the understanding that the zionists were honorable and would hold up their end of the deal which was to use the resources that were no longer needed against their strongest enemy to building a peace with the Palestinians. Well you should know how that went. The zionists SQUANDERED the thirty years and instead used the resources to build illegal settlements, conquer, oppress and murder.
THAT is "what's the deal". THAT
Make peace with the Palestinians?
You mean the bastard cowards like the one who slit the throats of the sleeping babies? Those darn guys, they do love to kill babies, don't they?
JP, how can one expect to "make peace" with governments that deny your right to exist and have publicly vowed to wipe you off the map?
Thank you, Frag you're right. Richard, you only see "act of terror" when its committed by unarmed people by blowing up a bus. Do you think that Palestinian women and children do not feel the terror when bombs are falling from Isreali warplanes? Do you think that they don't feel the fear and terror going through checkpoints controlled by fully armed IDF where they're harassed constantly? Do you think that just because people in uniform are commiting the act of terror, is less hurtful somehow? You try to downplay Israel's actions by saying that their policies are not perfect. Those not so perfect policies cause thousands to die and millions to suffer. Wake up.
By the way, did you Google that stuff? Go ahead and do it. I am sure you'll see pics. that you'll never see in the news nor anyone cares about, because you're brainwashed to believe that whatever you see on those pics. are justified.
gabe0304,
Read all of your own words very carefully:looks like you contradicted yourself there. Are you trying to say that explosives used to kill innocent people are not arms?
And let's not forget Gabe's remark about "Coward Jews." Like so many anti-Zionists, he turns out to be a plain old fashioned Jew baiter after a few postings.

To convert is our mighty role.
Jihad bells, Jihad bells
Terror everywhere
Oh-we made all blinds
From Bombay to L.A.
Jihad bells, Jihad bells
Jihad over all
All the Budists, Crsitians, Jews and Hindu
Their time will come, they should know.
Jihad bells, Jihad bells
Jihad over all
But- if you resist
The terror for ever will persist,
Your life will be in @!$%#
Until the Kalifat the entire world will lead
Jihad Bells!

Everyone has the right to defend himself against terror except Israel.
Obama excluded Israel from the international antiterrorist conference.
(Persecuting, chasing and killing Jews is a 2000 years norm, that for they should not in included in anti terror protection)

ArielyShein,
Nice bit of poetry there but I guess the underlying message could be, if the civilized world doesn't wake up soon, the possibility of the following scenario taking place in the near future: just imagine a radical cleric walking up on the set of "The View" (while it's on the air) and announcing to Barbara Walters and the other ladies that they are no longer allowed to be dressed that way and that they all must put their barkas on immediately!
The civilized world needs to wake up to this menace and fully support our true friend in the Middle East!
They already have someone doing that...and her name is Barbara Walters.
Fully support? You mean with troops? No thanks. The poor people of America are done fighting other people's wars. Believe that. Instead, we should just vacate our presence form Mecca. It's a start.
Get lost with your transparent fear-mongering. That's old-hat that has worn very thin on Americans who were once compelled to fight for nebulous notions such as honor and stamping out "evil". That time is over. Find a new sacrificial lamb...perhaps you could start with yourself and your children. Good luck...and don't forget to write!
ops, you are talking about the ultra-Orthodox Jews and their rules within their own community. However, it is true that the conservative Muslims and Hasidic Jews do have more in common with each other than they do with any other group. This includes not only dress but diet and even circumcision. And that makes it a War of Brothers...and as we Americans can tell you from our own history, that's the worst kind.
Op, there is a Jewish term for people like these..."Wicked Sons." Many of them are veteran leftists...and many more are college students who have been influenced by anti-Zionist professors. Of course, the left LOVED Israel, because it was one of the very few socialist countries that had ever worked...until the Six-Day War, when the Soviet Union turned against it...and now they don't seem to notice that the Soviet Union no longer exists.
Now you know what arabs feel.
Actually, the Arabs have been killing each other (rival Islamic sects) for many centurys now!
The supposed terrorist looks like an American hippie and nothing like an Arab. Could it be that there are actually others in this world who hate Israelis?
indig, it could also very well be that the extremist Muslims are recruiting agents who do not look like them, because they will be subject to less scrutiny.
You can not reason with these brainwashed Israel lovers. You could have an Eskimo on cctv blowing up the bus, they would still be convinced that either Iran or the arabs has something to do with it.
Who do not look like them? Wow that’s a nice bit of racial stereotyping Cassandra; do you work for the TSA? Lol but seriously you are aware that Islam is not a race it’s a religion, which in effect means anyone can become Muslim because all that is required is that they accept the tenets of Islam as the foundation of their faith and identity. This is actually (one factor) where both Christianity and Islam differ from Judaism as I’m sure you know Jews are not just a theological group, but are also an biological ethnicity, which (as I’m sure you know is impossible to change) therefore it is impossible for someone to become an “ethnic Jew” via conversion. Now with that being said which method of distinction Ethnic or Theological do you think Zionism follows? I’ll give you a clue; Zionism was created in the late 19th century in Europe at a time when Europe was undergoing a period of intense ethno-nationalism
Eighteen Israeli "off the books" agents quietly entered Iran over the last 36 hours. They are untraceable and already know their assignments. Expect Tehran to issue denial after denial for the next few days, while sending the bomber's next of kin some very large cash deposits and several bouquets of flowers. The wet work may not happen for a couple of months, but it is coming, surely and stealthily. Ahmadinejad would not be an appropriate target, but the ayatollah would.
Shame is isrealis crying foul, blaming on muslim extremists, anti-semites etc etc..
It was not long ago isreal killed iranian scientists.. Threatened every single freaking day to attack isreal, and so on...
isreal massacred 1500 palestinians including women and children in 2009, and many other palestinians at different times...
Choices have results... isreali dikheads need to glue this to their heads..
They blame on iranians right away... There are so many candidates who may claim they are right attacking isrealis; palestinians, any muslim arabs, and so on..
Remember: If you treat people with respect, you will be treated with respect.. Every action has a reaction.... What goes around , comes around... and so on..
Abdallah, I abhor your views, which in the past have included attacks on all Jews...but at the same time, I must admire your honesty, in choosing a name that openly expresses your background and sympathies.
There is no proof those scientists were killed by Israelis. In fact, it is highly suspect that they were allowed to be out and about the general population in the open air on motor scooters without body guards. They were supposed to be the elite scientists in charge of the work being done on the nuclear plan for Iran, yet there they were, available to assassination. Right.
More likely, things were at a stalemate, they weren't producing, time for them to be eliminated, what better opportunity to blame the Jews and garner international sympathy for them and tarnish the Israelis?
FALSE FLAG!
Sure, false flag op by Iran to kill their own scientists. If ordinary Iranian citizens were killed, I would give a second thought. Now, all of you Israel lovers believe the claim by the jews that Iran is developing nuclear weapons. So, how in the hell will they achieve that with dead scientists. Who is gonna make those bomb detective "screminmimi"? On the other hand, Israel may sacrifice a few ordinary dudes to achieve a bigger goal, which is gain support for their murderous plan of war with Iran. If I would have to choose who would gain more from a false flag op by killing their own, I would go with Israel, no doubt. Oh and by the way, there is no proof that Iran has anything to do with this bombing
