myway - your claims is bogus, this is not outsiders like the US and/or NATO war, its Assad against the majority of syrians in which Assad is commiting crimes against humanity, thinking only of himself and willing to kill thousands upon thousands in vain to stay in power (in which he won't) The world dispise Assad not the U.S. you got that one @ss backwards. In your support of Assad's genocide, you are a criminal, supporting a hitler like dictator killings of his own people (not outside terrorists as you and your hero Assad is claiming, most likely Assad will end up dead or will hang for the crimes he commit that you support. One question: how do you live with yourself while Assad is tortoring children by cutting off their body parts and burning them to death, you and Assad should die a harsh death like in a torture chamber to get a taste of Assad own medicine

Yes it is all those countries who are not sending Arms "wink wink" into Syria.

I wish I could draw a cartoon showing the US,EU, Russia, Iran, Saudi Arabia,Turkey,China giving Arms to Syria like pinching salt in a soup with the little people just gobbling them up. Then it overflows the pot and spills all over the place.

Hey remember the Rambo movie where he saves the Afgan's from Russia life is stranger than fiction.

from NBC embedded reporter - Myth: FSA are al-Qaida or at least infiltrated by al-Qaida. There's no evidence of a large al-Qaida presence. This is not an al-Qaida fight. In the last day, we have met three rebel commanders. One was an air-conditioner repairman before the war. and a tomato and zucchini farmer. The third grew grain and lentils. One of the commanders considers himself an Islamist. The other two are more secular.
In total, the three commanders control about 1,500 men. Not one of the commanders supports al-Qaida, nor have any of the dozens rebels have we have met. Some reports that al-Qaida fighters had recently taken over the Baab al-Howa border crossing. There was a video that showed rebels carrying an all black flag, similar to ones favored by al-Qaida. We spoke with the rebel leader who carried the flag. He said he has nothing to do with al-Qaida and the flag was an Islamic one.

It's no longer a matter of "If" Assad will fall but "when." All indications are that Assad is going to fall. But how many more Syrians need to go with him?

This fight is not about Al-Queera vs. Assad, but majority of syria people vs. Assad, his tribe (10% of the population) and his military tanks, helicopter gunships, and other heavy weapontry that the freedom fighters lack.

i love the fact that all 7 cooments on this page are by people that actually know whats going on. yes this is a war that AMERICA is fighting through the thugs you mentioned. i just got back from a month long trip to lebanon and the last thing the PEOPLE want is another war. they are tired and unfortunatly they are gonna get dragged into it because a group of thugs backed by the US dont care about anything but war and more blood. the US hasent learned from libya, egypt, yemen, somalia, ect... lesson: your only making matters worse for the people (not including the thugs), mind your own business and take care of your own people in the US!!!

blaming the US for everything is old and bogus, this is arab spring started by the people for the people to kick crude dictators to the curb. This is not a CIA or NATO action. It is syria people demanding their rights and freedom. Like the right to elect the leader of "their" choosing instead of a dictator electing himself while ruling with a iron fist using stalin's logic "kill and/or imprison all dissent no matter how young.

The unrest, now regarded by Syrians, diplomats and analysts as a civil war, has taken its toll on the regime, one prominent defector said.

Riyad Hijab, the former Syrian prime minister who recently fled to neighboring Jordan to escape the al-Assad regime, said Tuesday that the "regime's morale, economy and military has completely collapsed and the regime is only in control of no more than 30% of Syrian lands."

Analyst Jeffrey White cites another grim scenario for the regime in an essay published Tuesday, saying that "given the recent battles in Damascus and Aleppo, the regime can no longer be confident of securing even the most critical parts of the country."

"For the regime, the war's trajectory is essentially downward. The speed of this descent is still in question, but not the process itself," said White, a defense fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy

Muslims from all over the world are coming to kill Al Assad and his regime, who are now considered by Islamic scholars to be worse than infidels (unbelievers). Highly respected Islamic Cleric Safwat Hejazi in Cairo, Egypt has issued a death fatwa against Al Assad, saying that the "killing of Syrian President Bashar Al Assad is a duty for every Muslim". Well known Saudi Islamic scholar Sheikh Ayedh Al Qarni has also issued a fatwa to kill Syrian President Bashar Al Assad, stressing in his fatwa that "killing Bashar Al Assad is more important than killing Israelis". Insurgent Muslims from all over the world have been heading to Syria in droves to answer the call of jihad (holy war) against Assad's regime.

OR IS IT THEIR LOYALTY TO THE Saudis AND QATARIS ( ALQAIDA MASTERS ) OR THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO GET ASSAD OUT , BECAUSE HE IS AN ALLY OF IRAN , HOW ABOUT THE SYRIAN CHRISTIANS ?? ANY BODY CARE ABOUT THEIR WELL BEING , NOT YOU EVIDENTLY OR NONE OF THESE SENATORS ABOVE , I THOUGHT THEY WERE CHRISTIANS ??? The Alawites are one of the minorities of the Muslims when compared the former President, who is a Sunni, of Iraq.
