Of course there are people in Syria who want to be in charge, but they wouldn't (and didn't) stand a chance of taking over the country until we started supporting them by flooding the country with foreign fighters and weapons. It's great that the US government hasn't sent our boys over to die in Syria, but it kinda sucks for Syrians that we're ripping their country apart.
