Sheep zig-zag up trail in Switzerland

A flock of alpine sheep walk on a cliff path on the way from summer grazing high above the Aletschgletscher glacier down to Belalp in the canton of Valais, during the "Schaeferwochenende" (Shepherd's Weekend) near Blatten, Switzerland.

I agree... an amazing photo. 50 or 70 years ago I would have been tempted to climb those zig-zag stairs from bottom to top to see what was on the other side. Now, I'm happy to just look at the photo and perhaps wonder how it was built and why. It must have a humongous job and was really needed to spend the time and energy to build it. A really great photo. Thanks to whomever thought to post it here.
