People like you are the problem with this country. Without any shred of evidence, you blame a specific political party saying they caused this, when in fact the truth is that no political party had anything to do with this.

This country isn't going anywhere until people SPECIFICALLY LIKE YOU put politics aside, make compromises and work together to make this a better place.

Don't vote. Please.

This is some evil world we are living in. Where the hell did he get the gun from, possibly another "responsbile" gun toting freak

Calm Down There Susan. Don't jump to conclusions on where this punk got his gun from. Always out to stir some trouble aye? Like many others on here, the anti gun lunatics just flock to these news feeds and pipe in with their anti gun it's all gun owners faults blah blah blah. He very well may have TAKEN the gun from someone in his family, he could have stole it, got it from a friend or anything else. It's ridiculous this @!$%# keeps happening but what else is to be expected with the way kids are coddled and protected from the daily problems of the world... They can't deal with anything and blow up. Then again this could easily be some stupid punk kids who called each other a name and one decided name calling was worth trying to murder another. It can be a million different scenarios. Save the bs for when more info is available.

Back when the schools GAVE children guns and ammunition, stuff like this didn't happen.

My mom was the captain of her high school rifle team in the '50s. I used to take my shotgun to Junior High across the handlebars of my bicycle in the '70s, to go shooting after school. My wife and I bought our daughter her first rifle for her 7th birthday. We never shot anyone.

It's not the guns. It's crappy parenting.

Not a bad idea. You can teach your children the Truth, instead of teaching them a THEORY about human life being no more valuable than a random "accident" of mud.

Home schooling is the only problem here, going to a mall or movie or anywhere has become a potentially dangerous thing this country is loaded with kooks from sea to shinning sea.

The thing I'm not sure about is what kind of crappy parenting results in kids killing kids.

Again, you have to wonder, what kind of parents does this kid have, that they would raise a kid who would do such a thing? And if he got the gun from home, I hope the wounded kid's parents sue the pants off them. Or off whomever it is he did get the gun from.

It's sad for me to think this and even more sad to say but I think they should start putting metal detectors in all the schools. I'd rather kids had to do this than go through life long troubles after witnessing or dying in such events. It's just happening WAY too much any more.

For those of you throwing out the ol' "obviously-it-must-have-been-a-Democrat-who-did-this" rhetoric, with nothing to back-up your claim... GROW UP, already.

It's comments like that that continue to divide.

i have been around guns my whole life....and i never shot anyone. my dad taught us better than that. i have all intentions to teach my 2 kids the same thing. u teach em gun saftey and chances are there, not going to do any thing so stupid, like carrying a gun to school in the first place.

It would appear that there are two problems here.

          1. This guy named Vern-1642229 is a complete moron who hides behind the worse kind of stupid...the common kind...while pretending to contribute to a conversation that is obviously well above his levels of comprehension and empathy. It would be easy to ignore this self-important attention whore if somebody's kid wasn't lying in critical condition after being shot in school. So, with that said...Vern? Go find something of substantial size and shove it as far up your hindquarters as you can possibly go. Then go drop to some concrete butt-first. You know...just to make sure you put it in there real good.
          2. Then, at some point, we have to stop pretending that guns don't kill people. I've hated that line for quite a while. 'Ya see, people with rubber bands don't yet seem to be having an effect on the mortality rate. Those with guns? Yeah. I believe it's time to have an honest conversation about what has, for anyone with logical thinking and common sense, become an unhealthy infatuation with a firearms effect on a unsuspecting human being?

          There. I feel better.

People need God in their lives and if God is taken out, then we have chaos. Things will get worse if we continue without God.
