A friend of Wang Jian sits in Wang's homemade Lamborghini replica on August 31, 2012.

Wang Jian, a Chinese farmer who worked at a garage for more than a decade, built himself a replica of a Lamborghini Reventon using parts from a second-hand Nissan and a Santana, Reuters reports.

The self-made roadster cost Wang around 60,000 RMB ($9,450) and can reach a maximum speed of 160mph, according to local media reports.

With a list price of $1.6 million, the Lamborghini Reventon was named one of the world's most expensive cars by Supercars.org.

A man in China says his homemade replica of a Lamborghini 2007 Reventon that cost under $10,000 to build, "Drives like a dream." NBCNews.com's Dara Brown reports.

Wow, the Chinese will try to make knockoffs of anything. The result above is about what to expect from any of their other knockoff garbage.

It only needs some nice wheels, a mellow set of mufflers, and a flux capacitor. Oh, and some fuzzy dice. I think they make those fuzzy dice in China.

The total lack of glass does not make it a "roadster"

How about that tractor, bike, truck thingy in front of him!! That thing is pretty impressive too. Notice the starter in the front and the fact that it's front wheel drive.

That other thing looks to me like a large tiller for tearing up the soil for a garden! Looks like it was cobbled together with a trailer of sorts to make it turn.

Now that thing does look like it would eat the guys Lambo for a snack!

If that guy spent almost $10,00 grand on his creation then he needs a head shrink as he wasted his money. I see cars like this all the time here in the USA, there used in demo derby's all over the country and most rules don't allow more than $300.00 into the car to keep it a cheap fun sport.

If this heap does 160 mph I would love to see it otherwise I call BS on it! Heck the tires alone aren't even in good shape and all that tack welded if not riveted metal would come flying off at those speeds.

Great laugh though and I'll bet he had fun throwing it together last weekend. Maybe his next project will be a Bell helicopter, now wouldn't that be cool? Bet it could do like 600 miles an hour too.

More like 160KPH which is only 99.4MPH which is still impossible to believe.

Another quality product from China, and it only cost him $9,450, it looks like he should have spent only about $100 on it, so the other $9350 must have been put directly into the engine to get it to reach that top speed of 160 mph

I just watched the video and I can see that is one crazy powerful car, you can see when he first starts moving all the smoke from the tires spinning because there is a huge cloud of smoke behind the car!!

Ok I watched the video and judging by the upside steering wheel and the looks of the motor as it runs (I say that loosely) my kids Lego dune buggy would smoke that thing .. Please this is news ???

Looking at the "traffic" pic...the really original car is that front-wheel-drive, half tractor/half motorcycle, pickup. Very practical, and creative. The Lambo is cool enough too...but I'm guessing the similarity with the original ends with the bodywork and high topspeed.

It stands out in regular traffic? Regular traffic is a tractor, a regular car stands out!

Epic fail! Come back when you finish the car.

Just give the Chinese 24 hour, they will make you a copy!

But no, to be a Chick magnet it got to have leather, window, and a well-dressed driver, not in t-shirt.

If this was made in Seoul, Korea it would be a perfect replica...And all you need is a photo and present it to the mechanic and he would put it together gnat's ass perfect...

All chinese replicas start out this way...it started with crap ripoff products and now they produce iphones. Now they are starting with crap ripoff lambos and soon they will be top notch.

I do think that most people are missing the point of the article and video. It's not about *what* it can do, it's simply that he made it from scratch. No, it's not pretty to look at and no, it doesn't have windows or a dash (or a lot of other parts). Whoever said he was done building though? Maybe in time he will be able to make it road legal. For now, he was probably just eager to test drive it and show off what he's done so far and for that, I say congrats.

                                  $9,600? I can believe that. 160mph? Not a snowball's chance in hell.

Not a chance this could or would go 160MPH! That is really bad workmanship. They allow that deathtrap on the road! They guy is creative, but lacking skills and resources, I hope he doesn't kill himself driving that thing.
