A little death here a little death there; little death little death everywhere.
Large parades bring out the worst in some people. The St Patrick's Day parade, for example, also has it's share of fights and drunken behaviour too....
We have the same parade in DC. What used to be a fun event has now turned into a gamble as every year there are fights, shootings and/or stabbings. It seems there are always a few @!$%#s who come just to cause trouble. Same with the night-clubs, glad I am past that age, it's not about fun anymore..
In DC it's always the minority of douchebags spoiling it for the minority, and giving a bad name to a certain segment of the population..
They all like a bunch of sorry looking DRAG QUEENS.
How revolting is that!
Correct, Raymond.
Check their papers!
I'm surprised that with the budget cuts any cities allow any parades at all unless the parade sponsors fully fund the salaries of the officers on duty.
It's a shame that what used to be free fun-filled days for families, especially those who often didn't get to enjoy many outings with their children, have turned into "iffy" chances of being harmed by criminals and thugs.
It's also true that many people come from out of town to enjoy parades in large cities. It should be made a law that crimes committed during a parade celebration is interfering with commerce, which I believe is a major felony.
The Good ol' days of "free" overtime for police protection are over, and in my opinion should have never happened. When a self-segregating group of anybodies wants to organize a march or parade or saunter - Pay Up.
Just one question. Why don't they have the West Indian Day Parade in the West Indies?
They do Greatmindless. All the islands celebrate their independence in addition to All Saints Day and more. The U.S. is fantastic that we can enjoy East Indian Day, Cinco de Mayo, Oktoberfest, festivals for Greeks, Italians, Syrians and more in this country and never have to venture overseas. I am not German but i love to listen to oompah music and dance the polka. I love Greek pastry and dancing the Samba. The U.S. is unique in this world and let's keep it that way.
Cotton Candy? I thought those were condoms they were selling!
