Stevens was trying to leave the consulate building for a safer location as part of an evacuation when gunmen launched an intense attack, apparently forcing security personnel to withdraw.

NBC News and wire reports -- The U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans were killed after protesters angry over a film that ridiculed Islam's Prophet Mohammad stormed the U.S. consulate in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi.
President Barack Obama said in Washington that the U.S. condemned Tuesday's attack in the "strongest possible terms" and would work with the Libyan authorities to bring the killers to justice.
"Make no mistake. Justice will be done," he said.
Christopher Stevens was the first U.S. ambassador to be killed during an assignment since Adolph Dubs was slain in an exchange of gunfire during a kidnapping attempt in Afghanistan in 1979.

This is retarded....your telling me that the reason they attacked us was because of a movie from some nobody that no one has ever heard about? I just read on Fox News a rather damning article about the incident. A staffer, Sean Smith, a gamer reported to his on-line buddys as follows:
“Assuming we don’t die tonight,” it read. “We saw one of our ‘police’ that guard the compound taking pictures.”
Within hours of posting that message, Smith, a husband and father of two, was dead.
My question to "This wondeful and enlightened" adminestration is; "WHY were our people NOT protected??"
I don't care if it's Hillary or Obozo-Oblamo, we knew back in the spring that no one really had a clue as to who was in charge in Libya, and here we sent diplomats without proper protection.
MR OBAMA,,,,,,YOU're FIRED!! Along with Mrs Clinton!! I mean seriously,,,,,,,we American just assume our people in the foreign service are protected, especially in a "up-rise zone!"

A religion that promotes hatred, violence, bigotry, sexual slavery, domination of other cultures, peoples, and countries in the name of their prophet, God or whatever else is nothing more than a Devil's workshop. We owe it to this world to expose the true nature of Islam and the starting point should be a focus on Mohammad the man. If it is a fair game to discuss the life of Krishna , Buddha, Jesus, and other prophets, gurus, holy men etc etc then why should Mohammad be a holy cow?

i question the entire topic of the time of this attack, very close to the election. seems that each puts a spin on this event. and each is playing the card for votes in an election year nothing is sacred. romney and obama are both successful men and good in the art of politicking. we the public have the right to change things that are ill but dont be swayed by the media and the ad world. please we can change things if we question issues.
It's time that the USA STOPS all aid to all of these country's that hate our guts. They all want us dead. Why do we continue to send money to them? Keep the money here at home and help our homeless and people in need. Just think of the tax money that could be saved, could even lower taxes.
