Protests ignited by a controversial film that ridicules Islam's Prophet Muhammad spread throughout Muslim world.

NBC News staff and wire reports -- Protesters in a number of countries across the Muslim world vented anger against the West on Friday as the controversy over an anti-Islamic film raged, with a KFC restaurant torched in Lebanon, violent attacks on U.S. embassies in Sudan and Tunis and fierce protests in Egypt, Jordan and Pakistan.

U.S. embassies and consulates are braced for trouble on the Muslim day of prayer, when demonstrations are often held, following the attack on the consulate in Benghazi, Libya, which killed U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.

I'd take my business out of there and never go back. Maybe the decent people over there will bslap those dumb ones that ruined it for them.

Neither Bush I nor Bush II is in jail, which is where they and Cheney should be for what they did to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Enough Bush bashing already. Please catch up, we are going on 4 years without Bush. Find something new to complain about, or somebody new to blame. The Bush thing is just getting tiresome. It also gives the Democrats the appearance of being mindless.

Oops, didn't mean to like your comment. Just because it has been 4 years since Bush raped this country, does not mean we should forget about it. Thats like saying someone raped my mom and it's okay now that it's 4 years later. The govn has been screwing us Americans my whole life. Bush was just a little worse than most of the rest of the politicians out there. I can say, I liked being lied to by Bush more than I like the lies Obama spews. This whole system is flawed and won't get better till it all comes to an end.

        #55.3 - Fri Sep 14, 2012 3:21 PM EDT

With counseling your mom should be getting "better" after four years. If not, she needs more counseling to learn to trust people again and to overcome what the bastard did. Do you honestly feel "raped?"

If you don't like the system, work to change it from within. Run for office. Organize a rally. Present logical arguments for what you want to do different, and how you are going to pay for the change. If many people agree with you, then you will be able to affect a change by being elected into office. Yep, anybody but convicted felons can run for office and be elected. Sitting around and complaining about it is less than pointless.

The devil is in the details. The guy who wrote & produced the film that they find offensive is Egyptian, not American. And about 15 key players from the Middle East - people from Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Pakistan and Iran, and a couple of Coptic Christians from Egypt - worked on the film.

Also, this happened in Tripoli, not Beirut. Tripoli has been undergoing violent clashes during the last few months due to the refugee spillover from the war in Syria. Meanwhile, the Lebanese in Beirut (which has been relatively peaceful the last several years) did not react.

As far as I am concern, if american businesses want to go to other countrys to do business then let them. But not one cent of tax money should go to other countrys to try and stablilze it or what ever else is needed to alllow businesses to prosper in those country. You build it you protect it on your own. Just think how many companies would pull out of those countrys if they had to foot the bill for security.

I think the people are saying they want a BBQ place there instead. Or maybe a place where the steaks are char-grilled.

The food at KFC is truly horrible and their butchering practices are inhumane. Not sorry to see one of their wretched grease stands get a beatdown. For several decades the US foments revolts, drop bombs, conducts military bombing raid, and imports unhealthy, bad food on mideasterners and other foreigners- no wonder many are fed up with the chaos of the USraelis.

We just need to stop giving them American Aid. There are regions like Darfur that we could help more and not to mention our own domestic problems. They don't want us there, then we should leave and take our toys with us.

                        #61.3 - Fri Sep 14, 2012 1:49 PM EDT

That region doesn't need an excuse to fight and riot; They just need a place. It has been like that since well before any of the modern nations existed (as in far back as the Greek empire). They don't learn, and they don't evolve. They seem to be a toss back to a more primitive humanity.

Interestingly, the lesson learned and taken away from the Arab Spring seems to
be intolerance. This is quite ironic since those Islamic nations that went
through the revolutions spent many years living under autocratic, intolerant
rulers, and now the rulers have been replaced with intolerant mobs. It's not
worth stating that the U.S. neither produced nor endorsed the video disparaging
The Profit Mohammad because ignorant intolerance knows not reasoning.

Another amazing thing is that strong faith and belief can be shaken to violence
by writings, words and pictures. If faith is that strong and resolute, and
faith relies on a belief things unseen, then nothing done to or against it
should provoke. Strong faith transcends untruths, ignorance and stupidity. It
is something you know in your heart and mind and, understand without a shadow of
doubt. Nothing can undo it in any way!!

You have my vote for this upcoming election, however, if you would like to slam dunk this election may I suggest that you close all of our embassies in the mideast, pull all of our troops out and shut off the waterfall of money going to countries who truly do hate us. Invest that money into well thought out forms of alternate energy and start drilling. I do not now, nor in the future want to see my son shipped off to fight yet another war in these forsaken countries over oil.

                              Thank You

This is not about the movie. Those people hate Americans and Christians. Now under the weak leadership of the U.S. Government, Muslims think they can get aways with murders. This is a TOTAL FAILURE OF AMERICAN FORIGN POLICY IN THE MIDDLE EAST. They killed our embassador on 9-11. The anti-America activities and mobs in Libya and Egypt are supported by the government. Both Libyan and Egyptian governments were created by Obama's administration. History tends to repeat itself. In 1979, president Jim Carter helped establish the current government of Iran and it turned out to be the enemy of the United States. The Iranian government held American embassy staff as hostages for more than 40 days until Ronald Reagan was elected. They released the hostages immediately. We must cut off the aid to those countries who attack our embassies and our interests. We have economical problems in America. Why we borrow money from China to gave to our enemies? Do not listen to the BS, both Libyan and Egyptian governments could have stopped the attacks in a matter of few minutes. Also, they had information ahead of the attacks. Stop the aid to Egypt and Libya and pull our embassy.

You have to be VERY stupid to think one has to be "educated" to taste food. Inshalla, hopefully there are not many who actually thinks it takes an "education" from schooling to taste food.
