Hussein's Priorities. NO Gas, NO Heat, NO Electricity, Looting, Feces in Water, NO Solutions. He's Too Busy Campaigning so he can Screw You Some More! You Reap What You Sow!
The difference between Civilization and Barbarism is nine missed meals.
Did you read the news article where Obama said that people needed to be self-reliant and resilient and that they'd get through this? That's called disater preparedness. They had plenty of warning that his would be a bad one and yet the mass of people in the area failed to prepare for it. It's not the government's fault. It's the people who wouldn't heed the warnings.
Hey Joe, when the time comes we are shipping you to North Korea. How are people exactly supposed to keep the power from going out?
Man, that is sad. I know people out east have that me and mine kind of attitude, but they need to push past government yahoos and extend hands to each other and except some togetherness. Work together to get what they need. Obama is gone, Bloomerburg could care less, the Jersey Gov. sold out to someone who could care less, FEMA is a crappy beaurocracy. Just get together and do whatever you have to right now. We learned this in MS after Katrina for months and months. Working together to look out for each other and solve problems on your own does work. And when people from all over the country come to help... don't let your governments and unions and all that nonsense push them away. People are good, they want to help. At a time like this it is not taking handouts, its what people do for each other when someone is really in need. Good luck all and be safe.
This is off topic but I have a couple of friends in Brooklyn. Do any of you know if any power has been restored around that area of NYC at all?
My husband and I still dont have electric. We live in Bethlehem, Pa. We filled up our gas tank on Sunday, took money out of the ATM Sunday, Stocked up on non perishable food on Friday and Saturday. Besides just being cold we are fine. People com planing about not having any cash bc ATMS are down you should of went out earlier! People complaining about having to sit in line for gas, you had plenty of time to get out there and fill up before hand. And people complaining about not having food you obviously do not know how to survive. For the past 5 days we have been eating gold fish, cereal, bananas and bottles of water. I am sorry but the government can not be there to help everyone. Life is about surviving, and if you cant survive something like this because you dont know how to take precautions then thats just sad. And trust me I know its cold. I think the past 5 days have been the coldest I have ever been especially at night. Lots and lots of clothes and blankets. Hopefully some of you are more ready the next natural disaster. And this comment is not towards the homeless or eldery. I have seen plenty of people with homes and families that did NOTHING before this to get ready.... you were given plenty of time.
Great job on being prepared! It is too bad some poeple cannot look past the moment they are in! Hopefully we can learn from this and be better prepared for next time. After these time of events you will always hear the 'I should've listened'.
So, don't point fingers at people who did not prepare. If you got some, and can help them, just go help them. Not really good form to tell someone they shouldn't smoke cigarettes on their deathbed... just reach out, help, accept the help of others, and be together to get through things.
NEWS FLASH:
Liberal Democrats
You own this storm and its aftermath.
These photos and this story will not go away for you. These stories and photos from real people will resonate for months. While the President and Mayor are all talking about how well things are going. These are all time and date stamped. This will go on for months. Face it. This is your Katrina. You cant get rid of this even with the help of the media. The FEMA sign is devastating for you, as is the gun toting veteran looking to shoot looters. All negatives for you.
You Own Benghazi and its aftermath.
Lybia will be swept under the rug for now. But when the election dust settles, you all know this will not go away. "Coverup" is the term the Administration is facing.
There will be four more days of both of these stories. NY/NJ will only get worse form a human relations story. NY marathon...not even going to go there.
This election is now over. Watch as it unfolds.
Great, Chris Christie (R) couldn't sing Obama's praises fast enough.
As terrible as this destruction is I hope the east coast sees this as an opportunity to rebuild as a modern city, with bullet trains, and manageable infrastructure.
And remember, destruction creates construction.
Why would a veterinarian be shooting people??
I love it...he was probably in Vietnam working on the "Gorilla" warfare! in the 60's
I think a looter is some type of rat!
These storms whether worse than expected (Katrina) or exactly as expected (Sandy) cause so many wide spread problems but resources and man power are limited and finite. What took years to build and hours to destroy will take years to rebuild once again. No matter what your political leanings are this is just fact. So while liberals and the media love to bash Bush about Katrina and celebrities spewed hate speech about how Bush hates black people and while conservatives bash Obama about Sandy (although I don't think anyone has been stupid enough to say he hates white people) and the media praise him for visiting.....no one who is actually affected gives a hoot. They just want help and unfortunately whether the President flies over and looks at the damage or walks around and looks at the damage, the work of rebuilding will take time, resources, and patience and even after all that some things will never be the way they were. 11 years after 9/11 and we are still poorly prepared for emergencies and, sadly, that is just the way it will remain.
obama did not fly over people as those waters were rising , and drowning usa citizens , '' it had nooo respect for race , color , or creed !!!!!!!!
Who cares if he flew over, walked through it, stayed in Washington, or went on vacation? Just sign the dang checks and make sure those who are actually assigned to do the job can actually do their job without any impediment. Walking around and looking presidential is all fine and good and makes for great photo ops and gets all the talking heads giggling like school girls but does it really do anything? I am fine if the President wants to come and see the damage and I am fine if he doesn't. All I care about is that people get the help they need and could care less about anyone's political agenda. People are going to hate no matter what these guys do.
all of you voters out there , who would you trust more , when destruction begans to make it's rounds again for the next 4 years ????
It sucks, but clean up takes time. When we had a pretty bad storm in our area this summer (not saying it was in anyway comparable to Sandy) there were a lot of people without power for over a week and when another storm hit 1-2 wks after it was fixed it went out again on some for a more than a three days. That's just the electricty, the trees in the roads and on powerlines were not completely cleaned up for over a week.
That is just a regular storm that came through, it will take more then 2-3 days to clean up Sandy and get help to everyone.
Like the guy who came out to guard his summer house and refused to let in the woman and her 2 children, screaming for help. He thought they were looters. He thought Mom was a man. The children were drowned just past his backyard. Well he still has all his possesions in his house. What a Republican!
You my friend are worse than Hitler, or a troll. I definitely want you shipped to North Korea.
JULEA...your village is looking for you.
Living here in the US southeast and seeing hurricanes and tropical storms come and go year after year (it's NOT global warming, stupid!), to read this coming from the great and unsmitten northeast... most especially, NYC... is a bit surprising. I mean, aren't these people supposed to be tough and determined and strong and resilient?
Heck yeah, shoot the looters but don't collapse like a puddle of melted butter! Fight back!
Archie Bunker would stick his foot up the butts of most of these poor, poor folks.
I listened to the news and on Thursday, the people from Scranton (mostly) are upset because nothing has been done in their area as of that day and some residents stated that the area they live in is home to some policemen and firefighters. One lady said, "We need help and we need it now...!!!!" and if I could scream through these words, just imagiine what she sounded like. People, take a breath and listen to what you are saying. First of all, the storm not only hit your area but other states as well; secondly, think about the people who not only lost "stuff" but also family members and finally, thank GOD that you have each other and the media to vent to. You will get help in time, just stop acting like you all are more important than everyone else.
It's George Bush's fault.
not....
Do you think if a republican was in the White House that they would be skating on blame like our president is today?
I remember Bush on TV with the Fed guy's explaining that the USA financial system was completely gone. He had a scared teary eye look on his face and it scared us. Obama was sworn in 3 months later and within a year Mitch McConnel said we (GOP) will do whatever it takes to make you a one term president..
Sorry for the destruction and loss of life. Folks I know that preparedness is a hard thing to get together but what if you had three or four days food and drinking water stored and when the evacuation orders came, haul ass. losing your home is bad, losing a life is worse.I speak from experience.I grew up in the country and we always had three or four days of food including canned goods that could be eaten cold.Saved my arse when the road was closed for a few days.I can't help but remember the poster that was ragging on NO when they were crying for help, well Karma is a bitch, huh.Face it those damn storms just hit, and when they do it does not matter who you are if you are prepared, you might suffer as much.
I first want to say...my prayers go out to all who have experienced loss and heartache. But please know, there are people out there who are trying to help. Please let them. Please be thankful for their efforts. I know it may seem like you are being forgotten, but you are NOT. These kinds of things take time.
My husband is a lineman. He has worked storms like Katrina, Irene, Isaac. Please understand it is a 'process' to get power back on. These men work anywhere from 16 to 20 hours a day to restore power. It's unfortunate that the public is told it only takes a few days and when that doesn't happen things turn ugly. He knows its cold and dark and there is very little water and food. But he is there. So are thousands of other Lineman. Union, non union, it takes a special breed of men to do this work. Yes, they do get paid for their efforts, but they too sacrifice so much. They all jumped in their trucks and headed into the storm when everyone else was headed out. Some of these men drove thousands of miles to help.
So when you see a linetruck, please offer them a 'thank you'. Because they too are running on very little sleep, when they do sleep, it is in their trucks. So they are just as cold, and wet, and hungry. But they are there, there to help.
Please, just for a moment, step back from the madness and recall previous devestation. Irene, Isaac, people will rebuild, we are Americans, we will come back. Bigger, better, faster, stronger. Food will come, Water will come, Power will come, Fuel will come. Please be patient.
I live close to Joplin Missouri. When the tornado hit and killed nearly 200 people in 20 minutes with a warning of about 5 minutes, We came together, we worked, we took care of each other, we lended a hand. There were no yelling and screaming people in the streets bashing other organizations. We just pushed up our sleeves and got busy. These people had almost NO WARNING! So please use this as an example of what CAN happen when disaster hits. Pull together folks. Be there for each other. It's times like this that you should be asking your neighbor what you can to to help. Not the time for you to be bashing anyone. Lineman, Government, Firemen, whoever....for God's sake people, lets help each other.
Bush, Obama both amount to storm response failures. You can take all the pictures you want at the scene for publicity and make yourself look good but action is what matters. You can't depend on the federal government to come to your aid after a disaster folks.
It's time like this when you realize your government is in business for itself
Big O is too busy dodging Benghazi to be concerned with Sandy. He's afraid if he slows down a'tall, someone will stick a mike in his face and ask a hard question!! Makes me vomit. He may be an American, but everything that comes out of his mouth is UN-American. Please God, wake America up!
There will be no marathon...quit the bitching and senseless accusations. Get your facts straight! Help arrived this morning, Fema, Red Cross and other agencies have set up camps with food, water, dry ice, clothing, fuel, etc.. It is absolutely disheartening to see what Sandy has taken from so many people...my prayers go out to them. In Obama's defense, on the morning, following the unforgiving hurricane, he was (physically) there for the victims, and was very highly commended for being extremely helpful and compationate. Because he is on the campaign trail, doesn't mean that he has turned his back on those in need. He declared "a state of emergency", and has authorized all needed resources. He has taken all the steps to allow the services for the help...he did his job. Now it is up to the agencies to do theirs. For as much destruction that was left behind, unfortunately it is going to take time. The President is able to stay on top of everything in his office on Airforce One. Anyone heard of technology? Give the guy a break! It makes me nauseas to read some of these entries written by the Reps who constantly bitch about everything and anything to make the guy look as though he isn't doing his job. Get a life...you have nothing better to do than feed on drama and lies. Remember, you have to answer to the man upstairs come judgement day...learn to be a better person!
There is nothing Obama can do other than get out of the way.
People need food, water, shelter, heat, toilets/santation.
These needs shouldn't be taking a back seat to setting up voting booths and marathon tents.
You make my point. Like Obama your biggest concern is how the storm reflects on Obama. The people and their needs is secondary.
Help arrived this morning and the marathon was cancelled! Why are you still bitching about it? Typical Rep....bitch bitch, bitch.
Sorry but this is just another typical article that seeks to protray all Americans as weak and unable to cope. one handwritten sign, or even two don't constitute "Dispair" or desperation! There are millions of people that are coping and that understand that a disaster of this magnitude means that things will not just magically return to normal. Folks have gone weeks without power and water before and survived. We are a nation that was founded by people that somehow managed to create a nation without electricity, gasoline, cell phones. We are tougher than the media wants to portray us. And for those that want to turn this in to some sort of political football game, get a life. Real people are in fact suffering and trying to deal with this. Whether Bush or Obama took more time, toured the site the right way, or did or did not get FEMA working right is irrelevant. The president is one person, how this nation runs is up to us. After all it is Government of the people, by the people not just for the people.
