Workers at Pakistan's lone beer maker, Murree Brewery, line up empty beer bottles at the factory in Rawalpindi, Nov. 10, 2012.

The only brewery in Pakistan has a 150-year-old tradition. NBC's Amna Nawaz reports.

Faisal Mahmood, Reuters — Murree Brewery, established in 1860 by British colonial rulers to supply beer to their troops, is desperately looking for business overseas to hedge against its uncertain domestic market. Prohibition was imposed in Pakistan in 1977. Non-Muslims and foreigners must obtain a government permit to purchase alcohol at designated retailers which are mainly upscale hotels.

I'm just surprised that this beer making factory remains open with the Islamic militants that want to destroy anything that people can enjoy.

...Awww! ...It's probably such horrible, unsanitary beer that it makes anyone who drinks it sick. ...A potential "Weapon of Mass Destruction", if you will.

No way would I want that Beer Here. LOL . Don't want that potential bomb coming here. After Bin Ladin was found in Pakistan I vowed never to buy another product from Pakistan and ever since when I read the label Pakistan I do not buy the product. I won't buy any product from any Muslim country. I won't support terrorism with my money. I wait for the day when all oil from the Middle East is no longer imported by the USA. We can do so much better for ourselves than their dirty blood oil.

I would die of thirst before I would drink any beer manufactured in such a filthy country. How do they get the rats out of the water supply before they use it for the beer?

why worry about supporting foreign terrorists? when you see your new taxes on hard earned wages going to the "give me" voters you will be supporting domestic "intimidation".
