Anthony Trujillo pickets outside a Walmart store as holiday sales commence in San Leandro, California on November 22, 2012. Calling on Walmart to treat workers with more respect, a group of about 30 demonstrators spent several hours standing outside the store, Reuters reported.

The group behind the protest actions, OUR Walmart, told TODAY on Wednesday that they are striking to protest what they say is manager retaliation against employees who complain about working conditionsWal-Mart said they were "really confident" that Black Friday would go off without a hitch.

What happened to American Workers that were dissatisfied with their jobs, they would find another job and then give their notice to quit and keep their mouth shut and go on to the next job.....The Honorable America that used to be is no more, its give me this and give me that and I don't have to work because the Government will take care of me and my kids, so, to heck with working. All the American Pride is GONE, most people in this country could care less about it and the sad part about it is America is on its Last Leg, its going down and these fools with it.......pathetic!!

Not for anything, but the people who work at Walmart DO rely on the Government to take care of themselves and their kids. They make below poverty wages - but at least they are working. If you work full time, you would think you would make enough to support your family. Walmart workers don't. I make more in an hour than most Walmart workers make in a day. You and I pay for their healthcare (via Medicaid), food stamps, section 8 housing assistance, low income energy assistance, free school lunches for their kids, etc... A Walmart with 100 employees costs federal taxpayers an average of $500,000 a year in benefits paid out to employees - $500,000 that Walmart should be billed for (that figure does not include what the individual states pitch in - their part of the Medicaid payment, etc...). Instead, Walmart makes $40,000 a minute in profit and you and I subsidize that profit by taking care of their employees since they won't take care of their own employees.

Greedy Bastards. Only in America will we honor an entire day to "Give Thanks for many blessings",and than an hour later shove people out of the way for the latest "must have" gadgets! Can anyone else see the sick Irony here?

It's too bad spending money and having the latest gadget or product is more important than spending time with family and friends at Thanksgiving. Families are not close anymore - hardly leaving memories or traditions for their children to share. Christmas trees and decorations are in stores earlier each year with hardly any attention to fall, Halloween or Thanksgiving. During the four weeks following Thanksgiving, people used to shop, decorate, bake and prepare for Christmas.

a picket line is something you should not ignore.IMHO you cross a picket, you are a POS,interested in only your own pathetic existence.Wal-mart has taken advantage of their workforce for too long, and I for one am happy to see them stand up,and ask for a minimum amount of respect,in the form of a living wage.I will not shop at any store that pulls the kind of antics wal-mart gets away with.
