Mourners lay to rest firefighter ambushed by gunman

West Webster firefighter Tomasz Kaczowka, 19, was laid to rest on Monday, after he and fellow firefighter Michael Chiapperini were ambushed and killed while responding to a fire on Dec. 24, according to the Democrat and Chronicle. Two other firefighters were also injured. Chiapperini's funeral was held on Sunday, the Associated Press reports.

The killer murdered his own grandmother with a hammer. He should have been given the death penalty for that. Had that happened this tragedy would never have happened. That's what society gets when they let people who have no regard for human life back out on the streets to victimize the innocent again.

When someone; a doctor, a bus driver, a food inspector; does their job so badly that it causes the death of innocents; that person is held accountable. And yet, we have no idea who it was that decided that William Spengler no longer represented a threat to society.

At the very least, that person should be reprimanded for making such a tragic and lethal blunder.
