Supporters of Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez cheer as they watch military planes fly over during a symbolic inauguration ceremony outside Miraflores Presidential Palace in Caracas on Jan. 10.

Reuters reports: Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez remained on his sickbed in Cuba on Thursday while thousands of supporters rallied in his honor on the day he should have been sworn in for a new six-year term in the South American OPEC nation. The postponement of the inauguration, a first in Venezuelan history, has laid bare the gravity of Chavez's condition after complications from a fourth cancer operation in his pelvic area. Hugo Chavez is seriously ill. Make your own assumptions when Russian Pravda is reporting that Chavez' Inauguration is postponed INDEFINITELY.

I still think that if they mummify Chavez on put him in ice, there won´t be any controversy. He can rule eternally unless the ice melts ot the mummy unravels. This has to be one of the worst black humor farce in recent memory. If it wasn´that Chavez súpports and gives shelter to some of the worst terrorists on the planet, this would be no more that comic relief. This is Stalinism and big boot police state tactics at its worst!

For all these uneducated and misinformed peasants know, Hugo Chavez is already dead. They are excited about his reelection because they have been getting payments from the government to support Hugo and his thugs.

These "huge crowds" are almost excusively Government workers and their families as many were "advised" to attend by the higher ups in the Chavez Henchmen Appuratus. Of course, if an "advised" Government Worker does not "voluntarily" attend, that worker can say good bye to any possible future promotions with the threat of being fired and/or jailed. There are always "huge crowds" at major Chavez events fill with Government Workers who were "advised" to go .... or else.

We had friends visit from Venezuela and Kurts comments are very true. Those who say the love him either live in fear to say otherwise or have benefited from his government takeover of land, real property, private business or they simply enjoy sitting on their fat A%% and getting free food, medical care and housing without having to lift a finger. The stories our friends have shared with us would never make it into our liberal media. Government workers and freeloaders without principal want this man to stay alive...I'm thinking the reaper has already visited the fat man and they're working out the plans to put the VP into office without an election and keep him there for the duration of the dead mans term. Fortunately he and Castro get to burn side-by-side.
