A fly lands between the eyes of U.S. President Barack Obama while he speaks in the State Dining Room of the White House in Washington, Jan. 24, 2013.
WASHINGTON -- There was a buzz at the White House on Thursday when President Barack Obama announced the nomination of two top financial regulatory officials.
A large fly interrupted the president as he presented his picks to head the Securities and Exchange Commission and a watchdog for financial consumer products.
Under bright television lights, the fly darted around the president's head as he spoke in the White House's ornate State Dining Room, alighting briefly on the middle of his forehead.
A giant black fly joined in on the festivities as President Obama announced his nominations for head the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. NBC's Brian Williams reports.
"We need cops on the beat to enforce the law," the president said, speaking about SEC nominee Mary Jo White and Richard Cordray, who he renominated to continue as head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Obama broke off to swat at the intruder, which flew away.
"This guy is bothering me here," Obama said, glaring at his staff.
The insect was luckier than a fly that harassed Obama in 2009 while taping a television interview.
"Get out of here," he said, before smacking and killing the fly. "I got the sucker," he said at the time. An animal rights group protested.

That fly was me reminding the President that the majority of Americans are sick to death of the NRA making national policy. We didn't elect them!! This country does not exist to support the gun manufacturers! Don't give in to NRA bullying and give us some meaningful gun regulations! The picture shows the President listening. Sometimes you have to get them right between the eyes to make sure they're listening.

When they whine and insult, it just shows their childish mental capability. Just look at who they presented in their republican lineup to be president and you will realize their mental deficiencies. They will whine more in 2014 when more gopers in Congress hit the road and a full blown rolling on the floor tantrum in 2016 when they fail to capture the White House again and END up in the dustbin of HISTORY! McConnell can't even keep his word to make Obama a 1 TERM PRESIDENT. They have ABSOLUTELY no clue.

Please re-visit this comment in four years and see if you still feel the same. We will be at war with at least two more countries, will be feeding the mouths of at least 11 million "new" green card residents without jobs, law abiding and hard working citizens will be taxed and regulated more than at any other time in history, drones will be flying over our "free" nation, etc.. I don't care who is in office or from which side. This is where the USA is losing its identity and fight! We are buying into the political idea of one side or the other and failing to see the true problems that both have created. We have lost a sense of value and what truly matters in life. For example, each canditate for president this year individually spent around $1,000,000,000 on their campaigns. The presidential inauguration cost $35,000,000 for the tax payers for a second term president who is well aware of the financial problems we are facing. I mean get real, people are starving! We are cutting crucial funding for education! You want to take $35,000,000 for a single day for a second term when there is so much work to do. This seems to truly be the end of this great country.

This couldn't have been the real Obama. Fly's are single issue voters that would make a great addition to the Democrat electorate. He should have coddled the fly, given it a garbage entitlement, and then spoken on his emotional evolution to understanding that flies have god given rights to land and forage where they want. In his speech, he would have explained how "white Europeans" unfairly confiscated their own foreheads from flies back in the 18th and 19th centurty and he is just righting a wrong.
