Love pics of the week but I was shocked to see you don't know how to spell PREVENTIVE. Even Brian Williams gets it wrong in pronunciation. It's not P R E V E N T A T I V E. Please, no such word. Please, let Brian know too. My skin crawls when I hear it.

Also, I'd like to know how to turn off all the pop-up Facebook tabs on MSNBC. It's very annoying. If I want to go to Facebook to see more, I'll do it on my own.

Although some consider it an unnecessary synonym, P R E V E N T A T I V E is found in the Webster's Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary in my hand. Please let Brian know, too. You can research experts' discussion of the subtleties between the two words, but let's not accuse someone of using fictional words when they are found in the dictionary. I do not mind nitpicking to correct spelling and grammatical errors, but in this case you should be sure you are correct before doing so.

Dear MSNBC,

I have many rambling thoughts running through my head at the moment and I thought that now might be an appropriate time to share some of them with you.

Why were there only 10 pictures this week?

There were really only 2 good photos in the lot.

Jeez, haven't we seen enough photos of mob scenes???

Pictures from Middle Eastern war zones have also been overused for the past several years.

I'm pretty sure that the Miss Gay Nicaragua photo was thrown in there just so you could use the phrase "Miss Gay Nicaragua."

The thumbnail of the jellyfish that was on the home page wasn't even in this week's group of pictures.
Why do I have to login to Facebook to vote?

I use Facebook, but I don't want my FB account linked to everything else or anything else that I do online.

Bring back the old Week In Pictures format!!!

I think I'm going to reset my homepage to CNN now.

The cat picture is awesome and I'm glad the bird got away.

I'm tired and going to bed now.

Agree about mob scenes and Mideast violence. The best photos capture emotion, humor, beauty, oddity or a one-in-a-million right place, right time shot. Mob scenes and violence are rarely any of those.

You know not everyone cares to deal with facebook, but obviously MSNBC doesn't care about this fact. If all you care about are facebook users then I am going to reset my homepage to Google, or CNN! Catch you on the flip side!

This facebook format for the photos of the weeks sucks. Bring back the original format so that I and many thousands of others can once again vote.

Not everyone uses facebook or wants to....myself included.

I so dislike that so much online stuff now defaults to using facebook. I have stopped going to some of my favorite websites because so many of them are about using facebook.

I used to love the photos of the week and voting for my favorite, but now with this new format all I can do is look at the pictures. why bother anymore..

agreed about facebook. Why does everything have to be linked to it? I have a FB page, but I don't want all linkage to it. Enough already.

IMHO, I do not like this new format for voting on which picture we believe is best. Bring back the original format. I should not have to sign onto Facebook to cast my vote. If this is how the week in picture voting will remain, unfortunately I will not be viewing, nor voting, any longer. Again, just IMHO.

If you too do not like this new format, please voice your opinion, maybe if we get enough comments against the new format, it will revert to the original.

Adding my voice, please revert back to the old format. I am happy to see how many people do not like to be linked to FB. As someone said, if I want to view material from MSNBC on FB I can choose to do so, but it is a shame that so many who used to enjoy Picture of the Week and voting can no longer do so in favour of all those that have FB accounts.

MSNBC there use to be thousands of people voting on these pictures. Now the largest number vote was in the 400 range. I haven't voted since you guys tied it to Facebook. Obviously neither has most anyone else!

I'm going to add my voice here too. I rarely use FB and I don't use it to expose my life to the world. I love the weekly photos, but won't vote as long as it's connected to FB. Really disappointing.
