I am old enough to remember the creation of Israel by the Balfour declaration in 1948 when both Israel, Jordan, and the Gaza Strip (owned by Egypt at the time) were created and sanctioned by the United Nations (the Irgun was a terrorist organization against the British, bombing the King David Hotel). Immediately the Arab states launched an invasion intended to destroy the new nation, which did not succeed. The Palestine Liberation Organization ("PLO") was created in 1964 with the goal of eliminating Israel. The Arabs tried again with the six day war in 1967 and that is when Israel, driving the invaders back to the Jordan river occupied the West Bank. Since then every conflict with Israel started with aggression by the Palestinians. In 2005, Israel voluntarily withdrew from the Gaza Strip hoping to end hostilities there, but when it was taken over by Hamas in 2007, there was a constant barrage of rockets into Israel. The only impediment to peace is the refusal by Hamas, and its enablers - now primarily Iran, to recognize the existence of Israel as a country.

What you, deprogramer, apparently do not understand about the region is that as an atheist you would likely be hanged in most Arab countries, but you would be easily accepted in Israel, a significant percentage of its population being atheists.

In the 19th century, when Zionist movement started, many Arabs were OK with that, because the Jews were purchasing unused land at triple value, but some of them were also hoping to collect protection money from the new settlements, and got disappointed when they couldn't, so they started picking fights with those settlements, and it all went down-hill form there.

The gangs looking to collect protection switched to using politics and religion to attract Arabs to their cause, and that seemed to work, and still works.

Your religion is nothing but a plagiarized version of the ancient Egyptian belief system which was taken from previous astrotheological belief systems. He is a violent, selfish, envious, jealous, egotistical, voyeuristic, sadistic, imperfect being that is incapable of even the most basic act of kindness to the very "children' he supposedly created and claims to love. You have rewritten history to suit your narrative and you have used your religion to justify atrocities which rival even the Nazi's treatment of the Jewish people. I have no problem with the State of Israel's existence, I have no problem with the Jewish race. What I do have a problem with is the expansion of the Israeli borders under the guise of protection and self defense. What if every country used that reasoning and began to expand their borders? When does it stop? As you expand your borders for security, settlers move into the new areas thus creating the need for you to create a new buffer zone for "security", and then new settlers move into that buffer zone and so on and so on and so on. It becomes a never ending process of you continually expanding your borders claiming the need to create ever expanding buffer zones. What else I have a problem with is the closed nature of the occupied areas, all cell phones and cameras of activists wanting to enter are confiscated by the Israeli army, which alone tells me you are trying to hide the truth of your treatment of the Palestinians from the rest of the world. I have many friends around the world from many different groups who have all be treated like terrorists when attempting to bring the basic necessities such as food, water and medical supplies to the people of the occupied areas. That to me, and to many others around the world, makes Israel look as if they have the Palestinians in some sort of concentration camp where every aspect of their lives is controled by the Israeli's. Your government has the ability to cut off their power, their water, their sewars, their food supply, all medical aid, you bulldoze their homes, you shoot first and ask questions later, they are held without the benifit of a trial. Gee that all sounds eeirily framiliar to the way your people were treated in the 1930's.

Palestinians wanted an independent state, part of being independent is not giving a damn if another country (especially a country you are at war with) has closed it's border with you. It also means being responsible for your own water, electricity and sewers, and if you can not handle it, you become dependent on a neighbor, and if that neighbor is not your friend your suffer, and if you try to attack that neighbor, he shoots back.

Each and every country int he world has it's current territory solely because they won it in battle at some point. There are some very recent ones, acquired in defensive wars. In Russia, there is a city of Kaliningrad which used to be a German city of Kuningsberg, until WWII. There are Kuril islands, that used to be part of Japan, but since WWII became part of Russia.

It stops when two sides reach an agreement. At any moment Palestinians are welcome to negotiate with Israel and come up with fixed borders that both sides will recognize, than they will stop loosing ground. They might even get back some of the ground they lost. See as Israel is the only country in the world to have ever returned the land they won in a war.

Yes, ending all of Palestinian suffering is that easy.

All those who talk about "chosen" never bother to read what Jews were actually chosen for.

Well, let me tell you, the belief is that Jews were chosen to suffer for the sins of humanity.

So, please believe that us Jews are sick and tired of being chosen.
