South Africans gathered in support of Nelson Mandela outside the Mediclinic Heart Hospital on Tuesday, where the former South African president is in critical condition with a lung infection. Handwritten signs and flowers addressed to “tata," meaning father, have accumulated at the entrance of the hospital, each with a touching message showing the importance of Mandela in the lives of South Africans.
