Chess Grandmasters Anish Giri, left, plays Wang Hao in the World Chess London Grand Prix at Simpson's-in-the-Strand on Sept. 22, in London, England. The event, which begins the 2012-2013 World Chess Championship Cycle, runs until October 3, 2012, and takes place over 11 rounds. The London Grand Prix is the first tournament in an ambitious, high-profile rebranding of world chess by American-born entrepreneur Andrew Paulson whose intention is to regain the global popularity chess enjoyed in the 1970s with matches between American Bobby Fischer and the Soviet Union's Boris Spassky.
