The weather was undeniably calm for the start of the Atlantic Ocean crossing, leg 7, of the 39,270-mile around-the-world race -- flat seas and southeast winds of 8 knots. Race officials are predicting it will take 11 days to complete this leg of the race. Tropical Storm Alberto, might give the crews a little more challenge in the days ahead.
