    The Champions League, European soccer's premier tournament, resumed after a winter break last night with a cracking game between AC Milan of Italy and Tottenham Hotspur of England.

    Spurs secured an unexpected 1-0 victory in the first leg of the last-16 tie, but the result was somewhat overshadowed by a post-match brawl sparked by Milan captain Rino Gattuso, who had become increasingly angry as the match wore on.
