Jacob French meets with patients Helena Kantarelis and Zak Brankstone at the Sydney Children's Hostpital on April 4, 2012 in Sydney, Australia.

The stormtrooper who walked across Australia

Jacob French today completed the over 3,100 mile trek from Perth to Sydney in a full body stormtrooper costume, Getty Images reports, having raised over $100,000 for the Starlight Children's Foundation in the process.

Since July 2011 — when he was featured on PhotoBlog at the start of his journey — Jacob has walked 10 hours a day, five days a week, lost over 26 lb in weight, and gone through seven pairs of shoes.

The Starlight Children's Foundation, which also operates in the United States, provides programs to help lift the spirits of sick children in hospitals.

Iranians take photographs of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's car, as it is displayed at an auto show for auction for a charity in the city of Abadan, 600 miles (1000 kilometers) southwest of the capital Tehran, Iran, Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011. Iran's populist president is putting his 33-year-old Peugeot up for auction for a charity that funds housing projects for young people. Ahmadinejad's move is seen as a bid to appeal to the young and attract attention to housing projects he espoused during his campaigns, promising to put a roof over the head of every poor Iranian.

He should hold on to that car! It might help him to flee across the border someday, with his Mulla side kicks.

In this photo taken on Dec. 2, Albert Carver looks at a 50-foot-tall Christmas tree made of lobster traps on Beals Island, Maine. Some of the top lobster-fishing ports in New England are claiming bragging rights about who has the biggest and best Christmas tree created from lobster traps. The groups that put up the trees say they draw attention to the ports' maritime heritage, bring people together and raise money for good causes. The tree in Beals Island helps raise money for the Beals-Jonesport Fourth of July festivities and one in Gloucester benefits a nonprofit devoted to the arts.
