Protesters carry a wounded man during clashes with the Egyptian riot police near Tahrir square in Cairo, Egypt, Tuesday, Nov. 22. Egypt's civilian Cabinet has offered to resign after three days of violent clashes in many cities between demonstrators and security forces, but the action failed to satisfy protesters deeply frustrated with the new military rulers.

CAIRO — Egyptians converged on Cairo's central Tahrir Square on Tuesday in response to a call for a so-called "million-man march" as protests against the country's military rulers entered a fourth day.

Thousands of Egyptian protesters have been camping out on the square and clashing with police trying to force them to leave.

NBC's Richard Engel said Egyptian television was reporting three American citizens were arrested after being seen throwing fire bombs from the roof of a building belonging to the American University near Tahrir Square.

msnbc.com staff and news service reports :

UNITED NATIONS — President Barack Obama told the United Nations on Wednesday that Palestinians deserved their own state but that it would not happen without direct talks with Israel.

Seeking to head off a looming showdown over Palestinian statehood and pull his Middle East policy back from the brink of diplomatic disaster, Obama told the U.N. General Assembly, "There is no shortcut to the end of a conflict that has endured for decades."

Obama asserted that peace would not come through statements and resolutions at the U.N., but rather only through a resumption of direct negotiations.

He said the parties are the only ones who can agree on the issues that continue to divide them."Ultimately it is Israelis and Palestinians who must live side by side," he said.

Protesters clash with police in front of Ukrainian parliament in Kiev, Ukraine, September 20. More than 10,000 people, among them Afghanistan war veterans, demonstrated in the Ukrainian capital Kiev to protest proposed benefit cuts, with some of the marchers attempting to break police cordons around the national parliament building. Veterans of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear power accident also participated in the street protests. Like Afghanistan war veterans, Ukraine's Chernobyl victims face reduced pensions and medical payments if parliament passes a cost-cutting bill currently under debate. Protesters shouted ‘Shame’ along with insults, as police struggled to keep demonstrators from overturning barriers. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) officials have said cash-strapped Ukraine must reduce numbers of people receiving social payments and the size of those payments, to obtain further IMF financing.

Why purple "water" - so they can find them later and kill them? We will know something is up when we read next about a bunch of dead purple people killed in the middle of the night. It may even be laced with some deadly chemical - it would not surprise me one bit.
