Pakistani soldiers and rescue workers search through debris in Hussain Abad after a Bhoja Air Boeing 737 plane crashed on the outskirts of Islamabad on April 21, 2012. A Pakistani airliner crashed just short of landing in Islamabad on Friday, killing all 127 people aboard, the country's Civil Aviation Authority told NBC on Friday.

The flight data recorder has been located, NBC’s Fakhar Rehman reported from Islamabad, and the so-called "black box" was expected to reveal why the plane went down. But the apparent cause was that pilots were flying low under heavy clouds and hit high-tension wires as they approached Benazir Bhutto International Airport, he said.

There is not enough information to form such conclusions about this incident. The driver might have had something medical going on. I wish the living victims a full and speedy recovery.

Soldiers unload coffins of children and teachers who were killed in a deadly bus crash in Switzerland, at the military airport of Melsbroek, Belgium, on March 16. A coach accident in Switzerland on Wednesday left 28 dead, including 22 children traveling home after a skiing holiday.

BRUSSELS/SION, Switzerland -- Belgian military aircraft brought home the bodies of 22 children and six adults killed in a bus crash in Switzerland, and the country observed a minute's silence during a national day of mourning on Friday.

White coffins were loaded into two Hercules transport aircraft near the Swiss town of Sion and landed at a military airport near Brussels from where undertakers collected them after a short ceremony. A third plane returned with their belongings.

In factories, offices and schools, Belgians stood silent. Buses, trams and some trains also stopped for passengers to pay their respects to the victims, most of them 11 and 12 year olds returning from a school skiing trip.

"The grief is so intense, but this helps," said one man from the town of Lommel - home to 17 of those killed - referring to acts of remembrance across Belgium.

A fiery crash south of Buellton, Calif. on Highway 101 claimed the life of a truck driver Thursday afternoon, but emergency personnel were able to rescue a family of three from a vehicle dangling over the side of the freeway bridge.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the northbound gravel truck, traveling in the fast lane, struck the BMW from behind and then careened off a bridge and into the creek adjacent to the freeway, where it burst into flames, killing the truck driver.

Inside the car was  Kelli Groves, 36, Sage Groves, 10, and Milo Groves, 10 weeks, and one by one they were extricated from the vehicle that clung to a concrete guardrail above Nojoqui Creek in the Three Bridges area.

The Santa Maria Times and KSBY-TV contributed to the report.
