    Denmark's second-tallest building is demolished

A crowd watches as Denmark's second-tallest building, a 108-meter-tall gas container in Copenhagen, is demolished on Nov. 4. The container had not been in use since 2007. The demolition was carried out by British specialist, John M. Faulkner with the Precision Demolition Company, and the structure fell in only eight seconds.

Leaning in for a fresh whiff of Mr. Stinky

Visitors of the Botanical Gardens in Copenhagen saw nothing less than a sensation when an Amorphophallus Titanum bloomed for the first time in nine years in Denmark, on June 22. However, it might be a malodorous experience as the giant plant emits a strong odor of carcass and therefore has been nicknamed the Corpse-flower or Mr. Stinky.

Danish zoo raises polar bear cub by hand

Month-old orphaned polar bear Siku is being hand-raised at a Danish zoo – but not for long. NBC's Brian Williams reports.

    Skandinavisk Dyrepark / AP

Polar bear cub Siku is seen at Skandinavisk Dyrepark in Djursland, Denmark.

    AP reports:

COPENHAGEN, Denmark — A Danish zoo says a month-old polar bear cub is being raised by humans after his mother failed to produce enough milk to feed him.

Scandinavian Wildlife Park manager Frank Vigh-Larsen says Siku is doing "really fine." The cub now weighs 7 pounds (3.2 kilograms grams) — against 3 pounds (1.8 kilograms) at birth.

With only five feet of free space Finnish-built cruise ship MS Allure of the Seas passes under the Store Belt Bridge at low tide on Oct. 30. The bridge connects the Danish islands of Fuenen and Zealand. The vessel is set for its home port in Florida, US, and like its sister ship, the Allure of the Seas is 360 metres long, and can carry 5,400 passengers. The 16-deck vessel has dozens of cafes and restaurants. There are seven theme areas, including a central park, boardwalk, royal promenade, and a pool and sports zone.

What was the name of that extremely well engineered ship that sunk in 1914? I think there was a movie about it. A cheezy song too.
