Three snow hikers watch the almost full moon rise behind the Weissfluhjoch in Arosa, Switzerland, on Dec. 20. There will be a total lunar eclipse visible from Britain on Tuesday morning, when the Earth casts a shadow onto the Moon. On the day of the winter solstice, December 21, the full Moon will start to pass through the cone of Earth's shadow at 6.32 GMT.
The eclipse tonight should be a pretty cool sight for those who can see it.
