Mauro (R) and his partner Juan Carlos from Spain hold their twin babies at a private hospital after an Indian surrogate mother delivered twin baby girls for them in New Delhi February 16, 2011. Surrogate motherhood is among the latest in a long list of roles being outsourced to India, where rent-a-womb services are far cheaper than in the West. Fertility clinics usually charge $2,000-$3,000 for the procedure while a surrogate is paid anything between $3,000 and $6,000, a fortune in a country with an annual per capita income of around $500. But the practice is not without its critics in India with some calling it the "commoditisation of motherhood" and an exploitation of the poor by the rich.

Here are two stories from the Times of India about this couple and surrogate motherhood in India.

Recording artist Lady Gaga speaks at a rally in support of repealing the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy for gay service members, in Portland, Maine, on Monday, Sept. 20, 2010.

    Lady Gaga on the stump

I hardly recognized Lady Gaga without her meat dress (or one of her other fashion statements). She's such a showman that, at first glance, I wondered if this political rally was just another example of her performance art. After watching the video below, I'm pretty sure she is sincere in her campaign to repeal "don't ask, don't tell."

Why does being an entertainer give you any credibility as a commentator on social issues?  Lady Gag-Me's statement about how all those soldiers who have issues with gays in their unit should just "go home" reveals the depth of her stupidity and naievete.  Right -- as if they can just pack their Am …

California Supreme court Judge Vaughn Walker lifted a stay on same-sex marriages in Calif. just over one week after his ruling that Prop 8 was unconstitutional.
