One man attempts 12 Guinness World Records in 12 hours

Former England cricketer Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff dangles from a rope as he attempts to break the world record for the highest reverse bungee jump in North London on Monday. Flintoff was attempting to set twelve Guinness World Records in 12 hours to raise money for the Sport Relief charity.

Former England cricketer Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff drives outside Wembley football stadium as he attempts to break the world record for the fastest 3-point turn in a car in London.

According to the Mirror, among the records Flintoff failed to reach was eating a muffin in 35 seconds:

So far the sporting pro has achieved three official Guinness World Records: Fastest time to drink a hot chocolate (5.45 seconds), fastest 100 metres on a pedalo (with Steve Harmison) in 1 minute 58.62 seconds and most Facebook likes in one hour at 52,719! But it hasn’t come easy...

Since kicking off his epic 12 hour record-breaking challenge at Wembley Stadium, Freddie has attempted to complete numerous challenges – a 100ft reverse bungy, a three point turn in under 15 seconds, reaching 43mph in the world’s fastest toilet, eating a muffin in 35 seconds, wrapping somebody in newspaper in 3 minutes 7 seconds and zorbing 100 metres in 30 seconds – but they have all proved just a little too much for the sport star and he has missed each one by just a matter of seconds.

Barack Obama marks St. Patrick's Day with a pint of Guinness

President Barack Obama celebrates St. Patrick's Day at the Dubliner Irish pub in Washington, DC with Ollie Hayes, right, owner of the pub in Moneygall, Ireland and Henry Healy, center, Obama's Irish cousin, on March 17, 2012.

The Associated Press reports — President Barack Obama tilted back a pint of Guinness Saturday, observing St. Patrick's Day at a boisterous Irish pub with his ancestral cousin from Moneygall, Ireland, at his side.

Obama took his motorcade to the Dubliner Restaurant and Pub on a dazzling Saturday afternoon. Wearing a moss green jacket pierced with a button that read, "VIP GUEST — Tell 'em Danny sent you," the president waded into a crowd — some in leprechaun hats and others in dyed green hair — at the entrance of the tavern near Washington's landmark Union Station.

Last year, Obama visited his ancestral home of Moneygall, a small hamlet in Ireland, and was a hit when he drank a Guinness at the local pub.

On Saturday, the owner of that pub, Ollie Hayes, and Henry Healy, an eighth cousin to Obama and the closest relative still living in Moneygall, joined him barside at the Dubliner as his guests.

It is truly an amazing picture to see President Barrack O'Bama treating people with respect and comradeship. This is like what much of the rest of the world is like. The United States has completely lost this honest and positive feeling. It is the first comment many of my friends who are visiting A …

Chinese babies, accompanied by their parents, take part in a baby swimming contest at a stadium in Beijing on Sept. 11, 2010. The organizer hopes to break the Guinness World Record for the most babies swimming together. China's government maintains that the one child policy has averted 400 million births since the strict policy was implemented in 1979. The government has vowed to enforce the policy until at least 2033, when the population is expected to peak at 1.5 billion.
