AP reports -- Aly Raisman finished the Olympics in style.

The U.S. captain matched Gabby Douglas in gold medals, winning the title on floor exercise Tuesday. Add in the bronze on balance beam from earlier in the day, and she becomes the most decorated of the Fierce Five.

Good thing Raisman had such a big day because the rest of the Americans came up empty-handed. Douglas had another rough day, finishing seventh on balance beam after a fall. World champion Jordyn Wieber, voted most likely to leave the Olympics with the biggest haul, was seventh on floor and finishes without any individual medals.

AP reports: Known as "The Flying Squirrel," Douglas won the women's all-around title Thursday night, becoming the third straight American to win gymnastics' biggest prize and the first African-American. It's her second gold medal of the London Games, coming two nights after she and her "Fierce Five" teammates gave the United States its first Olympic title since 1996.

"I wanted to seize the moment," Douglas said. "It hasn't sunk in yet. Team finals hasn't sunk in yet. But it will." Full story.

Dee, I never thought about the fact that she is black, just that she performed so fantastically. It seems to me that this is one of the lesser-viewed articles on the net. I found it in kind of a round-about way, and then I lost it. Took me quite a while to find it again.

U.S. women win team gold at Gymnastics Worlds

    By Rich Shulman

I know most of us only watch gymnastics during the Olympics, but you have to hand it to the U.S.'s four "young guns," competing in their first senior world championships.

    AP reports:

Just imagine if the Americans were at full strength.

Unfazed by the loss of Beijing Olympic captain Alicia Sacramone, the Americans won their third title at the world gymnastics championships Tuesday night with a commanding performance that lets everyone know they're the team to beat next summer in London.
