Freezing fog creates spiderwebs of frost in the UK

    By Carissa Ray

The frozen fog draping the statue of Lord Alfred Tennyson creates a surreal scene. There's also an interesting jutaposition between the frosty webs and the melted traffic light from the explosion in Mexico in the previous post.

Frost clings to the statue of Lord Alfred Tennyson as freezing fog surrounds the tower of Lincoln Cathedral as plummetting temperatures continue to grip the UK on Dec. 20, in Lincoln, United Kingdom. Heavy snow is bringing further disruption to many parts of the UK causing the Met Office to issue severe weather warnings for much of Britain. Travellers continue to suffer through delays and cancelations of flights at many airports due to the effects of the weather conditions.

Ice attached to surfaces along Lake Michigan's shoreline in Chicago

    By John Brecher

More from midwest winter weather here.

Ice clings to trees and grass along the lakefront after wind gusts upwards of 40 miles per hour blew waves onto the shore and temperatures in the low teens quickly turned the spray to ice December 13, 2010 in Chicago, Illinois. Snow, frigid temperatures, and high winds caused the cancelation of over 1,500 flights at the cities airports and wreaked havoc across the Midwest.

Ahhh ice, a chiropractors friend. Its -3 degrees so I'd say it won't melt any time soon.

Bad driving conditions in Germany: Car lifted after leaving the road

    This photo gave me pause.

After it "came off the road"? That's not good English. It should say "skidded off the road" or "slid off the road" or some other verb.
