I didn't watch but usually, those traits (positive ones) reveal themselves when the emotions are high and they can completely and comfortably submit to the joys of finally winning a championship---like they never were @!$%#s before the championship.

LeBron is one tough dude. I wonder if the NBA needs to consider helmets for its players.

Fan chalks one up over LeBron

    By John Makely, NBC News

When I saw this top image in today's feed of images I immediately thought of Miami Heat's LeBron James' pre-game ritual.

So when are you going to step it up a notch LeBron?

So?  What a shame this kind of thing makes the newspapers.  What about all the starving children, or the personal stories of older people who cannot buy their medicine if they buy groceries?  Sorry, this kind of thing takes up personal space and is all about the rich athletes again.

The story behind a great NBA photograph

    By Stokes Young, nbcnews.com

You don't have to love the Heat to respect this picture from Dec. 6, though I suspect nobody in Cleveland will want to look at it.

Rob Peterson, Senior Editor at the sports site Fanhouse, tracked down AP photographer Morry Gash to get the story behind the frame. And... let's just quote Peterson and say it was "borne of excellent planning sprinkled with a little luck":

There by Gash's toes was his Canon 5D Mark II, a camera outfitted with a wider-angle lens, synced to fire by radio remote control when he took pictures with the camera he held in his hand. As the play developed, Gash clicked off four or five shots narrowly focusing on James. At the time, he knew he had LeBron, but Gash didn't have an inkling Wade had entered the foreground. Keen-eyed observers watching the game live could see Wade go out of frame on the left of the screen with his arms extended. (Full Story)

I love this. It's even more poignant given Wade was playing on the same floor where he played college ball.

Cleveland Cavaliers fans hold signs for LeBron James before a NBA basketball game in Cleveland, Ohio, Dec. 2, 2010, where he played for seven years before leaving to play for the Miami Heat. Extra security, hostile fans and plenty of jeers will greet James as he returns to Cleveland to face his former team for the first time since taking his talents to South Beach to join the Miami Heat.

Cavaliers fans let LeBron have it

    By Rich Shulman

I'm sure watching LeBron in a Heat uniform is pretty painful for Cavalier fans, but they need to get over it. In this era of big bucks free agency, expecting loyalty, even from an Ohio native, is unrealistic.

I used to like to watch sports until I realized (after having two sons that played some as kids, and the one is still playing them all) that WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE treat it like a INSANE CULT. Taking the joy, and competitive nature to a darn near terroristic attitude, even towards children.

The Miami Heat announces the return of Dwyane Wade, left, and welcomes LeBron James, center, and Chris Bosh on Thursday, July 8, at American Airlines Arena in Miami, Fla.

    Agony and ecstasy

While Cleveland begins to erase LeBron James from its collective memory, Miamians have already begun to kneel at the throne of King James. But hey, don't fret Cleveland, doesn't it still does take five guys on the court to win a ballgame, not just one, or even three? You have to wonder if the enormous amount of hype around James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh will eat away at team chemistry considering all of the egos involved.

I wonder what that sign would say in Salt Lake City?
