Denver Post reports: A young moose that wandered into Nederland's skate park on Wednesday was tranquilized by state wildlife officers and removed from the facility's open bowl -- only to later die from the stress of the situation, Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials said.

"He was very stressed out by the time we arrived," Parks and Wildlife spokesman Randy Hampton said. "This was a last ditch effort, and unfortunately he didn't make it." Continue reading the full story.

My Dad lives in Maine, and he had an inground pool that was closed for the winter with a tarp over it,but a wandering Moose broke through his privacy fence, walked out onto the tarp, and fell through it INTO the empty pool. Since he was in a remote upstate town, the locals had no idea how to get him  …

A woman looks at an elk standing on a lawn at a residential area in eastern Moscow, May 16. An elk family of bull, cow and calf wandered into a residential area in the eastern part of the Russian capital, close to Losiny Ostrov (Elk Island) National Park, Russian media reported.

Hello, neighbor! Family of elks moves into Moscow

    By Phaedra Singelis, NBC News

Apparently the elk that live in nearby Losiny Ostrov National Park have been roaming beyond the park's borders and coming into close contact with Moscow residents. It looks like this woman had a very close encounter with one of them.

[note: if you live in North America, you likely know the Eurasian elk as a moose].

Drunk moose gets stuck up tree

A moose is seen stuck in an apple tree in Gothenburg, Sweden, on Sept. 6. The police believe the moose was trying to eat apples from the tree and became intoxicated by fermented apples. The moose was freed by police officers and after a doze on the lawn, he sobered up and returned to the woods.

    msnbc.com reports:

An inebriated moose trying to get more fermenting apples apparently lost its balance and ended up stuck in an apple tree in Sweden, The Local website reported.

After returning home from work Tuesday evening, Per Johansson of Saro heard bellowing from his neighbor’s yard, The Local reported.

“I thought at first that someone was having a laugh. Then I went over to take a look and spotted a moose stuck in an apple tree with only one leg left on the ground,” Johansson told The Local. Continue reading.

People walk past a moose resting in Town Sqaure Park after it reportedly attacked a woman who approached the moose to pet it on Monday, March 7, in Anchorage, Alaska. Police are warning people to leave the animals alone after a moose kicked a woman in an Anchorage park after she tried to pet it. Police spokeswoman Anita Shell says people need to give the creatures their space.

Yo Jim, I went to the site you linked and from what I read, Moose Whispering is not for the faint of heart. I love the part about backing away slowly with your palms facing The Moose. I guess they do sort of look like antlers. And regarding talking softly to The Moose.
