Mark Calvert, an OG and E lineman, stretches to reach a downed power line in Oklahoma City, Tuesday, Aug. 9. Strong thunderstorms that rumbled across central Oklahoma brought much-needed rain to water-starved areas, but also damaged several homes and businesses and cut power to thousands of customers Monday night.

Young man suffers brutal attack in which "rapest" was tattooed across his forehead

    Sue Ogrocki / AP

(Left) Stetson Johnson, 18, lies in a hospital bed in Oklahoma City, in April 2011. He said tattoos were forcibly placed on this forehead and chest during an April 17th attack in which he was beaten with a baseball bat and left unconscious. (Right) Stetson holds back his hair to show a tattoo on his forehead in his home in Oklahoma City, May 4, 2011. The new bar code tattoo hides the word "rapest".

    AP reports:

OKLAHOMA CITY— Bond was denied Friday for two men and two women accused of pinning down a man who has learning disabilities, tattooing the word "RAPEST" on his forehead and shocking his genitals with a stun gun before beating him unconscious with a baseball bat.

All four are charged with kidnapping, maiming and assault and battery in the April 17 attack on 18-year-old Stetson Johnson of Oklahoma City.

Del City Police Capt. Jody Suit has said the four defendants told authorities they were trying to punish Johnson after one of the women accused him of trying to have sex with her. Johnson, who said he is acquainted with all four suspects but has never tried to hurt any of them, denies the allegation. Suit says there's no evidence to support it.
